    With a young child & small dog we were looking for a clean & safe place to stay near Carlisle Castle & Hadrians wall. The hotel is very tired and broken. The room door wouldn’t shut without Herculean efforts, the shower alternated between scolding hot & freezing cold & the bed had mites as we were sadly bitten the night we stayed. Limited positives the breakfast was lovely & the staff very helpful with limited capabilities.

    Friendly staff, comfortable beds and good breakfast. Some of the decor was a little tired. Only stayed one night but if longer, would have liked somewhere in room to hang coats up and a wardrobe or chest of drawers.

    Clearly Pinegrove has seen better days.However it has been renovated some and certainly was clean and not smelly. The hole in the ceiling in the dining room was offputting but breakfast was fresh and prompt....do it yourself instant coffee apart. It was a rest point for us breaking our journey back to Bute and so easy getting off the motorway then back on just after stocking up at Tesco. Good value for money and a stopover.
