Very spacious room. Bath Complimentary tray in room Location - the best - next to station and great for city centre. Bed - comfortable You can leave you baggage if you arrive early

Staff indifferent - no warm welcome Lift out of order. Room - carpet could have been cleaner. Bathroom - VERY out of date and in dire need of refurbishment Ceilings - holes and patchy

The hotel seemed clean enough in the areas that we seen

We were in room 109 , triple bedroom, we were visiting Carlisle as a family with friends , when we got there all we could smell was fish in the corridors coming from the fish and chip shop and then when we went to bed after having a lovely meal and a good night out we went back to our room 109 and it was bouncing with the music from next door , the hotel had left us some ear plugs on the bed with the towels , so we definitely found out why they had left us these , we heard all the noises from outside and next door

They split a disabled child from their parent - so we had to find a new hotel at 9:30 at night!

Location near the station, other than that - Nothing

I booked a twin and a single room 7 months before the stay, when we turned up they had overbooked and bounced us to 3 singles, without telling us in advance. As one of my party was disabled he needed to be in a twin with his parent, Staff advised nothing they could do, so we had to rebook into a different hotel for the twin room. I stayed in the single, but on leaving the following morning realised that the lock did not work on the room door so had to request a new room for the following day, and carry my luggage around for the day, as there were no staff on reception when I needed to leave. I would not recommend or stay here again.

Good location and Carlisle is a lovely city for a weekend break.

No breakfast, the location was just perfect.

The hotel was just what the group expected, we have stayed hear several times and use it as a base for our golfing trip.

An interesting spot to lay one's head for a night when on a road trip—not a destination.

Being able to park behind the premises without fee was good, and the staff were helpful. The hotel is close to restaurants, pubs, and if you're young there's a festive nightlife right there on your doorstep.

The bathroom needed renovating. The side-wall skirt on the bath had come away and banged against the door when one opened it. The grubby hand prints in the shower were off-putting. At 4:00 in the morning a drunk lad, dressed only in skimpy underwear, spent ten minutes on the fire-escape stairs banging on windows and doors trying to get in—found that off-putting too. Obviously not the proprietor's fault. Apparently it's not the quiet part of town.

No bath.. squeaky floor boards. Couldn't open windows. Lift was well dodge. No evening meal even though website had a evening food menu, so this was not great, as planned to eat here.

Despite having the "Please clean room " sign on the door, we had to ask at reception for clean towels at 7pm. The next day, it was after 3pm when the room was serviced. The bath panel was in a poor state, broken in a couple of places which could have been dangerous .

This is an older style hotel but both my husband and I liked it and it suited us.

Very comfy bed, great size of room, tea and coffee which we needed after our journey. Lift was very helpful as I am less mobile and need help with the suitcase. There was plenty of hot water for bathing and hand washing.

The bathroom perhaps requires a bit of maintainable around the bath the shower was adequate but definitely not a power shower.

Location is good for Carlisle train station. Wouldn't recommend for someone who needs space to work

Location was perfect from the station. Plenty of places to get something to eat nearby. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Room was as described - small, with single be. Tea, coffee and milk pouches, along with clean towels and earplugs (!) were provided.

There was limited room to work at the desk as it had a large TV and the kettle/drinks tray there. Desk was not at a comfortable working height using the chair provided (too low). Bathroom was small, flooring was 'sticky'. Fan was loud when light was on. Carpet was worn. Windows outside did not close - there was an interior pane that did close.

Avoid if you have a pet

Had a pet friendly room which was very run down, website says a dog bed but nothing. The bathroom floor looked like it hadnt been replaced for 30yrs. The room was a massove walk via dingy halls with water marks. Not helpful when needing to take a dog out. Room looked out on a grotty ally way full of bins. It was so hot in their. You had to have breakfast by 9.30am! They wouldnt do veggie sausages as they said it would take 20mins, then said 30 mins and receptionist said 40mins. No one asked us. Waitress grumpy and no one offered us anything. We had to ask fot butter and seach for salt amd didnt even have a hot drink. Worst stay ever.

The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. Good for an overnighter on route to the Highlands. Staff were helpful and the place was clean.

The hotel was nice but the room we had was a bit old and tatty. It was quite difficult to find the hotel itself as the main road was blocked off. I think it's because it's the street where the night clubs are. The music was still going till the early hours but wasn't loud enough to keep me awake.

The staff laughed when they told us the karaoke from the bar next door went on to 1am. The bathroom was rotting. The bedside tables needed throwing out 5 years ago. They were holes in the walls. The light shade had a streak in the dust where somebody had run their fingers through it. Grim. The breakfast was passable, just.
