Great hotel

Great location. Short walk to the train station and lots of restaurant choices. The one in the hotel is great.

No onsite parking but the public car park is close and reasonably priced. Just be aware it is small and quickly fills on Saturdays.

The room certainly didnt dissapoint. Like being at home. So much extra eg they had crumpets and butter if you needed breakfast. Beautiful rooms in an amazing building. Easy to get to, clean, good mix of old and modern. Dishwasher! Comfie bed. Comfie sofa. Nights guy on 31st October - super helpful!

External noise even with special double glazing at least they’ve tried. Could do with smart TVs. Would have liked photos of room we had booked before hand as we weren’t exactly sure what to expect.

Exceptional hotel worth every penny. And the crumpets are an exceptional USP.

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. The location. The warm welcome. The cleanliness and size of the room. The strength and speed of the wifi. Their approach to breakfast. And above all the crumpets, jam, butter and milk all left in the room. I have stayed in many hotels in the world, and, for what this is, this was one of the best I have ever stayed in. Faultless.

Good city Centre ApartHotel

Great Apart/Hotel in the centre of Carlisle. Easy to find by car - the property does not have its own car park but park at the Halston Car Park which is behind the hotel (1 min walk) and also they will validate your parking and you get a 20% discount. Nice reception and bar areas. The room was spacious and very well decorated. Milk, Tea, Coffee, Water and Crumpets given. The room refreshed everyday. Easy walk to everything in central Carlisle. Bars, Restaurants, Cathedral, Castle, Museums....

Room 17 overlooked main road. Lot of people, very noisy, didn’t get to sleep until around 3am then traffic noise kicked in around 5am. Need to double insinuate windows

Fabulous place to stay if you’re a night owl

Very welcoming and exceptionally clean. Milk & bottles of water in the fridge was a nice touch along with a packet of crumpets ready to toast.

The apartment was too hot, fans were in place but they weren’t enough. Couldn’t have the windows open overnight as it was so noisy from the busy road and all the bars. Wheelchair accessible but no adaptations, handles, rails etc

Beautifully appointed, spacious rooms with fantastic hotel staff!

Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. Rooms are spacious. The townhome was perfect for our family of 4 and certainly worth the price. The remainder of the extended family were in the main hotel and were thrilled with their rooms as well.

We visited in August and it was quite noisy in the street facing rooms until 1:00 am. The hotel does provide ear plugs in the room which is nice since they have no control over the bar noise.

Everything we needed.

Had booked to stay in the Town house for our daughter's graduation. On arrival was allocated room 105. Wow, exceptional decor, clean and modern 2 bed apartment. Really pleased with our upgrade. Receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. Location excellent within walking distance of train station and town centre.

A dedicated car park for the hotel would have been lovely, but hotel is able to give a discount to patrons. In the carpark next door to the hotel.

Overall a fantastic place to stay.

Fantastic location. We were staying for our daughters graduation and the aparthotel, was absolutely perfect and so much more than we had expected. With two rooms and large bathroom, large lounge and kitchen, not only was it modern and very practical. The little extra's like bottled water, crumpets, butter/jam as well as a good selection of teas/coffee, milk etc. were much appreciated after a long journey. We went to the restaurant in the evening, which did not disappoint either. Staff were all lovely and went out of their way to help.

The heat! In another heatwave, the apartment was super hot making it very difficult to sleep in comfort. Even with windows open there was little relief. This was at no fault of the hotel. A couple of good Dyson fans were provided, however they were not too effective with the heat. Some foam of air conditioning or air cooling would have been much appreciated.

Beautiful hotel apartments

The hotel was very modern and clean which was fantastic in an old city. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Room had a Nespresso coffee machine and free crumpets with locally sourced butter jam and milk too! We stayed in a one bed deluxe apartment and it was so roomy! Absolutely perfect for getting ready for an event - we weren't tripping over each other and having the kitchen meant easy access to drinks and food when we got back too! The staff gave us a thin duvet as requested and we also asked for a fan, very impressed with the Dyson air they provided! Kept us cool enough without air con so can't complain at all.

The bath was quite high up, genuinely thought I was gonna slip getting out of it and the dressing table mirror was too high to see myself in when I sat on the stool so I had to stand up whilst curling my hair which is a bit trickier.

Fabulous stay

We stayed as a large group of 18 and cannot recommend this place highly enough. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough to help you. Would absolutely stay again!

The only slight negative is the rooms are very warm. However they do supply large fans in the room to help with this.

Excellent and recommended

Since we arrived in Carlise by train, we appreciated the location of the Halston only 5 minutes walk from the station. We ate nearby at La Mezzaluna and enjoyed the Griffin pub for a drink. The reception staff at the Halston were helpful and pleasant. It was great to have an elevator to easily bring our suitcases up to and down from our room. Our studio was great with a large, comfortable king bed, a kitchenette, a small dining table and a couch. We definitely recommend this hotel.

The tub/shower combination was a bit tricky to get into and out of - grab bars would be helpful for seniors.
