Not a complaint but our room was really warm..it was great to come into after spending a rainy afternoon shopping...it was quite warm for me personally for sleeping...but better to be too warm than too cold

Great location

Our room (executive) was very dated. The mini fridge was literally a fridge plopped in the middle of the room! Lighting was poor. Bed was solid and not comfortable. Plumbing was a little noisy! Breakfast selection was adequate but all hot food was more Luke warm. The price was good until you factor in the additional cost of parking at £12 per day.

The hotel itself is very good for the price, good for a short stay and would stay again, rooms are quite big and have all the facilities that you need. Shower works well and the water pressure is great.

The property itself is fine but the neighbours were incredible loud all through the night as there’s no sort of noise suppression at all. There was also some form of data breach I assume which I wasn’t aware of until I received messages from scammers with my details, which of course made me worry about the safety of my booking and details and if I would have known before I booked then I wouldn’t have booked at all for my own personal safety.

The room was very tired stained toilet bowl and bath stained the room had a musty stale smell I had to ask at reception for the room to be sprayed with air freshener when we were out I bought a tin of air freshener which I left in the room for the next couple. Really disappointing

The hotel was the perfect location for exploring the City centre by foot. Staff very friendly and helpful. Due to our stay only being for 2 nights we opted to not have the room done but was very happy with the drinks vouchers as an alternative. This will definitely be our hotel of choice on our next visit.

The rooms were dated but that is to be expected with an old building. Perfectly functionable. This certainly has not put us off returning to stay here.

Very noisy until the early hours from outside, then from 4.30 am onwards all the wheelie bins and skips were emptied from outside of our window, then the road sweeper appeared making a noise. Room was very warm and stuffy. We also had problems parking, we were told that we couldn't park in the station car park by the receptionist so we had to go and move the vehicle into the hotels car park. Only to find out that we were able to park in the station car park and pay £12.50. Obviously this is more money making for the hotel and hassle you don't want when you have travelled and need to get into bed to sleep.

Not suitable for solo disabled guests as there is no ramp available at the entrance

Due to disability issues I needed step free access. At front of hotel entrance the entrance had a set of six steps. To get in and out of the hotel I required assistance as staff unwilling to help I was forced to ask fellow guests or even members of the public to get into or leave the hotel. During breakfast despite my use of a rollator no assistance was offered to collect my buffet breakfast unlike other hotels where staff were happy to assist me during breakfast.

We were very pleased with our stay

Our room was clean, spacious, with comfortable beds, bathroom, and other facilities. We had breakfast which offered a wide variety of good food. The staff were helpful and friendly.

We were only there for two night so made the best of it. I expected more of a Best Western.

The staff were very freindly and the location, directly opposite the train station was ideal. The room was clean and tidy.

The room was a little small as well as the bathroom. The shower screen was hanging off and the mattrass was like laying on concrete, it was that hard.

Great breakfast, great location, we would go again, but would ensure two bedside tables.

The bathroom was spacious and clean. The room was quiet and generally big enough for our requirements. The hospitality tray was well supplied and facilities were good. Breakfast and location were great.

We were happy with the size of the bed, which was shown as a standard double in the photograph. What was not shown, or explained, was that there was only one bedside table and lamp, and the bed was pushed against the wall. This meant that one of us had no reading lamp or table, and had to crawl down the bed when needing a visit to the bathroom in the night. Not the best of arrangements for folk of 78 and 81 years of age. Had this been explained on the web site we would have upgraded our room. In reality one bedside table means 'single bed', but it was advertised as a double.

Great location in centre of Carlisle. Room was clean and well equipped even though my room was small (my choice!).

The website said there was parking available but did not say that it would cost £14 per day.

An unwelcoming reception was followed by an unsettled night in drab and noisy surroundings.

The hotel is well-located, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

The room was hot when I checked in and remained so through the night, making sleep difficult. I had asked for a quiert location, but was placed near to the station, sowas able to hear regular announcements. The person who checked me in had a robotic and frankly rather forbidding manner. (Don't ever remember encountering such a person at hotel reception before!) Tea and coffee facilities were rudimentary.

Nice to stay in a traditional hotel so close to the city centre.

Very convenient location next to the train station, within walking distance of shops, cinema and historical sites. Clean, comfortable room and we appreciated being be able to open the window for fresh air in hot weather. Lovely breakfast thank you.

There was a long queue for the coffee machine at breakfast, which appeared to be because one of the machines had broken down. That said, there was nothing we didn’t like. We use this hotel regularly and have always found it to be very reliable.
