Brilliant Stay

Extremely warm welcome from guy at reception 😊 room was prepared really well and well decorated, clean and comfortable. Nice and quiet and all facilities were beyond expectations. Will definitely stay again!

Only grievance was the toilet seemed to be coming away from the wall but bathroom was spotless

Argued about letting me lock a high value bike Because I moved it back they rudely awakened up to tell me I’m banned get out just after I paid for another night the room was dirty bedding had stains on it the also got me arrrested for arguing for a refund and pushing a leaflet stand over absalout horrible management do not stay here More time u will come home with bugs

The location was central to all tourist attractions! Shops and shopping aplenty! The bar was reasonably priced and spacious! A relatively modern and free gym! The room and Bedding were clean with loads of piping hot water, for the huge bath!

The staff was rude !! Very u helpful the lights in bedrooms didn’t work heating didn’t work no hair dryers or irons available, no staff on the bar had to keep going to reception if we wanted a drink , the toilets in the bar were awful and unclean

Decent location in Carlisle, not far from shops needed and short distance to City centre

Room was very outdated, Bed was uncomfortable, stained quilt, hairs found in the bathroom, dusty around the bed tables. Booked a breakfast for Sunday morning £7.99 per person ( there was me and my 5 year old ) 8am it was suppose to open and be ready… didn’t get any hot breakfast until nearly 8.30… the hot plate was coming out bit by bit, very slow chef and service.

Basic crash pad - fine for the money but have realistic expectations

I lived next door to the hotel for many years in the recent past and am well aware of it's recent chequered reputation but after reading the recent reviews on the site I was happy to use it as a crash pad after a late night arrival in Carlisle by train. The hotel is well lit with plenty of parking and very well located for use by car or train (10 minute walk). Despite the location on the edge of the city centre it is usually very quiet. Although very tired (as expected) the cleanliness of the hotel and my room was fine. The lifts appeared not to be working but the gym did appear to be available. There used to be an excellent spa/swimming pool but it wasn't clear whether that was also still in use.

The current clientele (crew van workers and half way house clients, so far as I saw) are early risers and can be night workers. The walls are thin and the hotel pipework noisy. Therefore I was woken in the early hours by a neighbour getting in and early in the morning by the hotel infrastructure. The bed was basic but I slept OK and while the sheets were small and the duvet thin the room was perfectly warm enough to sleep well. There was no noise overnight from the occupants elsewhere (and even in it's darkest hours in the past the hotel was always very quiet).

Great no issues

Read the reviews prior to arrival, but after checking in was happy with the cleanliness of the room, quality of the bedding and towels. New bathroom was great and nice and warm in the room. Food was not available on the night of my stay, but the staff were happy to allow deliveries. All in all great value for money and free parking. The reviews online are harsh for the cost of the accommodation

The Hotel does look a little dated in the corridors, but this was not an issue for me.

Cheap, cheerful and handy for city

Staff were friendly and helpful..hotel was clean and room a good size. Could have done with a bit of colour on the walls rather than plain white but overall ok. Shower was fine. Parking was good.

The beds were comfortable

It was a very run down place not very clean no chance of sleeping though as there's assorts coming and going most of the night. Banging doors, cars flashing lights as if notifying people about something 🤔 talking loudly kids screaming a total no no. Avoid it.

Not the kind of hotel you go to enjoy the luxuries of the hotel, but perfect to spend the night.

Simple, clean rooms and bathrooms, with everything you'd expect; fluffy towels, crisp sheets, and the basic kettle, coffee and tea on the desk.

Not a problem for us early risers, but noticed breakfast only runs till 9 and some of the dishes were empty and not refilled around 8:15 already, so possibly reconsider having breakfast here if you like to sleep in.

Phonecall earlier in day saying room booked had something wrong so moved to different room. Given complimentary breakfast which was ok Room not ready on time. Given complimentary free drink

Staircase very dirty Room very hot and windows not openable more than a small gap Kids on bikes riding around cars in parking lot Massive potholes in parking area/road 1 out of 3 lights in bathroom working Plug didn't fit in sink so didn't hold water No coffee, sugar, tea. Had to ask to get. No shampoo Desk in room broken and chipped Tv only static, no channels stored or available to store. When complained, receptionist said she can't have it fixed as "too late in the day". Mattress rock hard, the other one sunk in the middle.
