Well situated for city centre facilities, a comfy accommodation with pleasant staff.

Great B&B - I was upgraded from a single to small double on arrival. Parking was easy with the provided parking permit. The room was a decent size for a single person. The landlady was very pleasant and helpful.

No hot water in the bathroom sink, though the en-suite shower was available to use.

Excellent overnight stay in Carlisle.

The property was a lovely old house in a central location. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Leanne was so welcoming and also stored our luggage so we could sightsee without baggage. Breakfast was amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Ideal for a short stay visiting Carlisle with an excellent host.

Accommodation met all our needs. Excellent host. Lovely cooked vegetarian breakfast with good choice of continental options. Room was quiet and comfortable. It was good to have two chairs. The location suited us well- it was in easy walking distance of the main city sights and shops etc. as well as walks along the river birdwatching. It was also only a short drive to visit the Solway Firth and RSPB reserve. The parking permit was helpful and allowed us to park in the road next to the accommodation. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

It took a while for hot water to come through the sink tap, so it is worth persevering with.

Cosy room with a warm welcome

Excellent place to stay, lovely cosy clean room, great full breakfast, set us up for the day. The owner was really welcoming and when we had a minor issue with the heating, she was able to sort it quickly and efficiently. Can't recommend this place to stay more highly.

The host was wonderful... Friendly, helpful and informative. The room was clean and comfortable

The location was great in terms of access to the city centre and surrounding area but the crossing to cross the busy road outside the hotel was in the direction away from the centre which was frustrating to go back on yourself in the cold and rain. The hotel was faultless but a minor issue none the less

Warm welcome from the host on arrival, room was clean and warm with all the amenities required for a short stay. Parking permit provided on arrival, plenty of parking spaces outside the property or very close by. Great variety of options available for breakfast although opted for the Full English which was very nice, pastries, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee and tea also on offer Within 5 minute walk into town with plenty of options for takeaways, pubs, restaurants and bistros. Conveniently located close to M6 and other major road networks

Great place to stay and I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this place to all our drivers.

The hosts were lovely and welcoming the room was very cosy and clean the location was great, not too far from town but far enough that you don’t get the noise and the breakfast was excellent! I stay in Carlisle a lot and this will now be the first place I try and book every time.

Unfortunately the shower wasn’t the most powerful. It was still very functional and it did the trick!

Highly recommend!

A cosy and well maintained property. The host was truly exceptional, and was attentive to everything from check in, to parking permits to breakfast and everything in between. I would highly recommend staying at Ashleigh house as it is located less than a 5 minute drive from Carlisle cathedral, therefore ideal for my graduation!

Fantastic B and B for an M6 stopover.

Very easy to find, with good parking on the street ( you're given a permit to last until 10 am...) Very friendly lady met me and showed me to my room. Comfortable bed, with an en suite bathroom. Breakfast was served at a time of my choosing, and my cooked breakfast was perfect. Highly recommend.

Just what I needed for a four day stay.

Everything I needed for breakfast, cosy and clean room on the first floor. Quiet Hotel with half a dozen bedrooms.

Only downside to lovely room, was it overlooked a main road. Not too bad at night , but noisy in a morning.

Location was excellent to get to City Centre. Breakfast was lovely quality and nothing too much trouble. A good welcome on arrival and pleasant interaction when needed. Pleasantly decorated in keeping with the building.

Great place to stay and nice single rooms for solo travelers

Room really clean, well-furnished and well-equipped. Street parking permit given for overnight and early morning. Owner is really friendly and breakfast was great quality.

The property is great, but it’s on a very main road so light sleepers might find it more difficult (I was fine with earplugs though). Quite early checkout compared to hotels (10am).

A gem in Carlisle

Friendly host, immaculate and comfortable room and bathroom, wonderful breakfast. Close enough to City center to walk there quickly, yet far enough to be fairly quiet. I'm glad I visited Carlisle, and I'm glad I stayed at Ashleigh House! I was a bit, though pleasantly, surprised by the seagulls.
