About this bed and breakfast

Charming little house on two floors in the picturesque village of Gandria with partial view of the Lake of Lugano. Completely renovated with hand-made terra cotta floors, wood stove, new bathroom and nice kitchen. Fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, telephone, computer with free Internet access, ironing board, bed linen and towels. The name “Casa Parrucchiere” comes from the building’s use as a barbershop 100 years ago (sign still visible on facade). The house was owned by Swiss painter Fritz Meijer), who used it to exhibit his artwork. Outside the entrance is a “pergola” (arbor) and table for two shaded by grapevines.

Special rate for longer period rental throughout winter.

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this cozy, super clean, cheery, updated and efficient apartment that offers a washer and dryer! This two story apartment, with an amazing history of it’s own, is located in the beautiful and historical setting of Gandria, on Lake Lugano in the Ticino area of Switzerland. There are several excellent restaurants in Gandria that overlook Lake Lugano and offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Although the eateries are only a few minutes’ walk, the apartment offers everything needed to prepare any meal desired if one chooses to stay in. The beautiful city of Lugano is approximately 15 minutes by mini-bus or cab. One can also take the ferry from Gandria to Lugano to enjoy the outside cafes, shop, buy groceries, or simply walk along the boardwalk, etc. Nina, who owns the property, is personable, helpful, easy to communicate with and offers a very complete information packet to help one organize their stay. Staying in this charming apartment that is located in such a special place has been a highlight of our travels, and we are planning to return as soon as possible!

My husband and I spent 5 nights in Gandria on Lake Lugano in this perfect but unique apartment. From the outside the apartment is very old and part of the hillside town of Gandria where everything is up or down on stone steps. On the inside it is totally contemporary with all the amenities. The bedroom and bathroom are down steep stairs and the there are lots of town noises during the day-the church and its bells are next door, all the restaurant deliveries must come and go via the stone steps etc. At night it is quiet. The owner is very organized and provided written information in English for everything needed. Information on appliances, services, restaurants, shopping, sightseeing etc. The parking is uphill and a bit of a walk but loading and loading of the car can be done about 50 meters from the apartment with only a few steps to negotiate. We also spent time in an apartment on Lake Como and much preferred this location. There were fewer tourists and a much better view of the lake. Lugano, a sophisticated Swiss resort city is about 15 minutes away by car, bus or boat. Several restaurants are located in Gandria and we especially enjoyed Le Bucce de Gandria (reservations recommended).

Im Casa Parrucchiere, dem kleinen historischen Häuschen, in dem vor 100 Jahren der Coiffeur von Gandria gelebt und gearbeitet hat und danach noch der Kunstmaler Fritz Meijer sein Atelier hatte, durften wir eine sehr schöne Woche verbringen. Das Haus ist ideal für 2 Personen. Es ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und hat wirklich alles, was es braucht, auch für sehr anspruchsvolle Gäste. Der Empfang ist herzlich und der Kontakt unkompliziert. Das Haus liegt mitten in Gandria, dem verschachtelten Dorf mit seinen Gassen und Treppen ohne jeglichen Verkehr. Man bekommt mit, was rundum läuft. das ist vielleicht nicht jedermanns Sache. Uns hat es nicht gestört. Nachts herrscht absolute Ruhe. Die Lage in dieser Ecke des Luganersees ist ganz einfach traumhaft.

Idyllisches, sehr fein hergerichtetes Ferienhaus(Baujahr 1659),Inneneinrichtung sehr modern und als Ferienhaus praktisch eingerichtet. Endlich mal ein Ferienhaus, in dem man richtig kochen kann mit mehr als zwei Tellern und Tassen sowie mehr als zwei Kochtöpfen! Der Tessin spricht landschaftlich für sich........Super!
