Friendly hosts. Amazing collection of beautiful old buildings including barns (most unexpected given the town setting) with a lot of creativity on show. We stayed in a lovely large stylish ground floor room with generous bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, served buffet style. There is also secure parking at the rear of the property. Conveniently located for a lovely evening meal at the Cafe Restaurant de L’Abbaye just two minutes walk away (tip: worth booking in advance to be sure of a table). We didn’t have time to visit the Abbey so we plan to come back, and Le Relais du Beffroi will be the perfect place to stay when we return.

The location in the town centre with secure undercover parking is excellent. The ground floor room and bathroom are very spacious with a very large comfortable bed with soft bed linen. The bathroom with walk in shower and bath was again spacious, well lit with complimentary bathroom products. The tv and nespresso coffee maker worked well and we were provided with a kettle. Plenty of space for luggage etc . The courtyard location and good curtains provided privacy and quiet. Within the courtyard and barn area there were a number of seating areas as well as a residents lounge/coffee bar. The spa looked really nice but we didn't get a chance to explore this. Leaving on foot through the front entrance there are three bar/restaurants within 150m. We have tried them all : Le Grange is a top level restaurant and a reservation is really needed. The others are much more relaxed but busy during the warmer months. Breakfast was excellent . "Continental with ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt etc etc. Also plenty of space outside for children to play safely with some supervision. Will definitely stay again. Staff very helpful and relaxed.

I'm afraid the stairs to the bedroom were too steep for both of us. We are 70+ !!
