Perfect stopover for weary travellers

Perfect for a one night layover en route to/from LeShuttle . Staff were great and the restaurant served lovely food we enjoyed watching the aeroplanes/ parachutists

Set in a beautiful airfield with lovey views. Rooms are airy and spacious. Lovely large shower. Patio area is great for spotting aircraft. Great welcome with very friendly and helpful staff.

Good place for a stopover on days restaurant is open

All very efficient and excellent for a one night stopover. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast bar was exceptionally clean and attractive decor. Good breakfast

Convenient stop but very basic for the price

The location was very convenient just off the road. A good place to stop en route to Calais. It is a motel with parking outside the room. The design is well considered. The rooms are very compact like a budget hotel with a large window over looking the airfield which is nice. The room was quiet despite its proximity to the road.

The rooms were not super clean. Our son’s shower was a dribble but we were told it might have been the water pressure. Our shower was fine. Other reviews commended the restaurant and we booked for that reason after a long drive. We were contacted a few days before our stay to be told it would be closed on Sunday evening. In fact it is closed Sunday evening and all day Monday except for breakfast. This was not evident in the hotel description so take note. At least however we had been forewarned and so were able to make other arrangements which necessitated driving back in to town. Breakfast was a very poor offering. Baguette, a mini pastry, an apple and a vanilla yogurt. I ordered a cappuccino. It came from a machine and was sweet and nutty. Horrible. A member of staff came and got a lovely fresh espresso from the enormous coffee machine behind the bar but that wasn’t for the residents! Although it was a convenient stopping off place it didn’t feel good value.

the advantage of being able to stay at the airfield we travelled to...we have stayed here several times

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, we travelled by our own aircraft so had no form of vehicle. But we did get a call to warn us to bring food which we did bring a sandwich. BUT the breakfast was poor, no choice just bread jam coffee, yoghurt. for a £118 for a single room per night very poor . :-(

Good location poor standards as a hotel.

Location and staff fine

No restaurant open apart from Chefs surprise ! Of which we had no idea what it was! Light not working on bathroom extractor fan not working. Mould on ceiling in bathroom. Cobwebs poor for the money and it’s not cheep. Poor hotel only the location is good for the tunnel. Breakfast very basic. One very small pillow each is not sufficient !

Amazing hotel, very convenient off the motorway on a stopover to Calais. Fantastic place to stopover travelling through France. Wonderful barrack style rooms on an old airport, really quirky. Very dog friendly and grass to walk dog surrounding hotel. Super friendly staff and people who own hotel. Lovely restaurant and bar attached which is also dog friendly. Didn't eat there but the food being served looked amazing. Very relaxing place. Room was compact but had a kettle and some bottles of water which was a nice touch. Very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend.

Not complicated, clean, great location, and simple. Excellent post Calais stop over and so much more interesting than a motorway hotel or something similar.

Convenient site close to the A16.

Just 16 ground floor rooms adjacent to the aerodrome, so one can sometimes watch aerial activities as one eats. Have stayed previously and tend to meet similarly minded English travellers.

Breakfast is very simple, typically continental. I can’t recommend the coffee.

As we arrived on a Sunday the restaurant was closed and with a dog it was difficult to drive to closest town to eat.

Very convenient stopover

An excellent place for a stopover either going to or coming from Le Shuttle. Easy to find off the motorway and parking right outside the room. Staff were very nice and it is a good place if you have a dog. The meal in the restaurant was very good although the breakfast was very basic.

Wonderful

We loved staying here. The motel aspect was so convenient, as we were able to park right outside our room. The room was freshly decorated, warm and peaceful. There were great views of the aerodrome through the window, and a fantastic sunrise in the morning. The sheets were beautifully clean and crisp. Comfortable bed and pillows. The staff we met were incredibly charming and welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The evening meal was delicious. We will definitely stay there again if we get the chance, and we happily recommend it to anyone. So convenient for the channel tunnel - it took us just over an hour to reach there after departing the hotel.

So glad we discovered the family run l’Aerodrome de La Baie de Somme which is so convenient for Calais when setting off

We arrived mid afternoon in a quite unexpected snow blizzard together with our two dogs. We were met by the delightful owner Paulo who could not have been more helpful and understanding. As the restaurant is normally closed in the evenings at this time of year we were able to order a chefs surprise meal which was just what two hungry travellers needed. The room was fully equipped, extremely clean and in excellent decorative order. Lots of hot water and an excellent shower. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept well. Our two dogs loved their walks in the gardens and being able to join us for supper in the brilliantly decorated and furnished bar and restaurant. PS the local beer is excellent! All in all a great experience

The well equipped bedroom is on the small size - fine for two adults but a bit small for two dogs as well!

Good place to stay just off the autoroute A16

Booked at the last minute after a Le Shuttle failure & had to take a ferry, put us back by about 6 hours so couldn't get to our booked accommodation. This was an unexpectedly good stop-over. We arrived in the dark and there was a group of young men on the verandah who politely moved when we got our bags from the car. The following morning we watched the sun come up through the mist over the aerodrome behind the hotel - enchanting.

Breakfast was a fairly typical offering. Unfortunately the coffee machine automatically added sugar to my husbands coffee - not great for a diabetic!

Comfortable stopover, great evening meal.

As usual, a great stopover location for travelling to and from the Eurotunnel. Really comfortable bed. Lovely food in the restaurant for our evening meal. Friendly staff. We were even able to check in early.

Sadly, breakfast was a let down. We appreciate that the hotel aims to provide a simple French breakfast, per the booking website description, however on this occasion there wasn't any protein on offer except a nice yoghurt and some unappetising plastic wrapped cheese. Some sliced ham and 'unwrapped' sliced cheese would have made all the difference, to go with the lovely fresh baguette.

Excellent location, friendly staff-excellent evening meal and breakfast, but the icing on the cake was watching the small planes and the parachute jumping. My husband used to fly so this is his passion - he absolutely loved it
