Lovely building, attentive tstaff great atmosphere. Initially came as a stop-off en route south but have returned twice now to explore the wonderful historic town and beautiful coastline. Five minute picturesque walk into the town with all amenities and parking outside. Gardens are beautifully kept even in midwinter. Nice to sit by log fire in the bar with a drink.
Only slight hitch was variable wifi but the hotel and restaurant were very busy for Valentine’s Day.

Beautiful building, location is perfect, very short walk into the village centre with the circular fort walls directly outside the hotel so nice for a morning walk around the town.
Rooms were huge and in excellent condition. Staff were really nice.

What a wonderful place! Fabulous food, welcoming staff, immaculately clean and comfortable room and very convenient location in the beautiful town of Montreuil made for a fantastic stay. This was our first visit but it will definitely not be our last.

Beautiful hotel with lovely , friendly staff, excellent restaurant and lovely bar for pre drinks before our meal and a nightcap. Very dog friendly welcoming our dogs and providing treats and a ball for them .... what a lovely touch. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated and very well equipped also with tea making facility in the room which you don't always see in France. Great location too.

Amazing setting and very comfortable room and bed. Local bars and square very close, great circular walk around the ramparts. Amazing surprise as did no research on the town.
Nothing.

We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the near future.
The only thing that was quite misleading was it said pets not allowed in the restaurant so we thought we could take our dog into the bar but we’re told we couldn’t so we had to have dinner and drinks in our room.

Location was good
The garden setting could be fabulous , but the grounds are unkempt and overgrown, with the box hedging leading up to reception seriously out of shape.
Unfortunately this property is an assault on your senses. The interior is a chaotic mix of styles, colours and is in very poor taste.
My evening meal was inedible , my husband eat his and was ill. My food was returned the kitchen we were not refunded

Lovely 1920s building (though our room wasn't in main hotel) with a great spread at breakfast. Our room was spacious, good storage space and a really nice bathroom. Although there isnt dedicated hotel parking there was plenty of free local on street parking.
Nothing really

I loved the garden my room was very pleasant however there was an unpleasant smell. The staff were very pleasant however and apologised for this. The town and walks around it are delightful. The hotel is very quiet I would stay there again as there was clearly a problem only in my room.
I should have asked for another room as there was a problem they should have warned me in mine.

Traditional furniture. Lots of small dining rooms. Beautiful garden. Free parking.

It was OK but had to keep walking backwards and forwards to serve ourselves between different rooms. Hot water for tea not hot enough. Also water for boiling eggs was cold so took a long time to cook an egg. Bacon and scrambled eggs already made did not look appealing and bacon not cooked well.
We were disappointed that restaurant was closed, although had been warned in advance. But it was strange that the bar was open but only for beer or soft drinks but no snacks or sandwiches. A glass of wine in the garden or on our balcony would have been nice. We didn’t like the way the hotel had been refurbished, especially the pavilion and thought it looked a bit run down.

There is good free parking just outside. The location is excellent - next door to the citadel and the ramparts which make an excellent circular walk with fine long views.
Sadly the restaurant was closed the night of our stay.

The hotel staff were all very helpful from the time of booking. The hotel had lots of character & charming grounds. Our room was spacious, clean & well equipped. The hotel is in a lovely location.

Beautiful setting in a lovely town. The building is gorgeous, but some aspects are tired. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
We opted to eat at the hotel restaurant and were extremely disappointed. We ate in the garden which was lovely and the waiter was very enthusiastic. However, the food was very poor. Completely lacking in any flavour or imagination. They were not serving a set meal, so it was very expensive for such poor quality.

It is a very good Hôtel , parking opposite the hotel is great and free , wifi is good , lovely gardens.
We arrived on Whit Monday 9th June everything was closed , the kitchen and the bar at hotel were closed on Monday and Tuesday. The town was dead!! We didn’t know anything about it, sadly.

Quirky belle époque maison de maître within 19th centrury fort. Beautiful, characterful bedroom with enormous art deco bathroom and comfortable bed. Excellent value restaurant, which is obviously highly regarded by locals. Friendly and helpful staff.
Bookable EV charging point in covered parking area. Plenty of on road parking too.
The building is tired in places. Our bathroom had some very indiscreet fabric covering the windows and the windows were draughty. Access through the narrow roads in the fort was a tricky. Montreuil itself is fairly run down.

We stayed here last year en route back to the UK and loved it so we came back en route home again. Had a different room this time which had a large wood panelled bedroom, overlooking the back gardens with a TV that has BBC News 24 as well as the French channels. The bathroom had a decent bath plus an enormous separate shower enclosure. Then we discovered there was also a large dressing room with loads of hangers. Last year the restaurant was shut on the evening we arrived (so they'd booked us into Le Patio - recommended) but it was open this time and we had the most delicious meal and breakfast was as good as last time. The gardens are still lovely so you can have drinks or coffee/tea outside and they've clearly redecorated the outside of the ground floor since we last stayed.
Nothing - we loved it again!

The dining experience was pretentious and not particularly good. The tasting menu was supposed to be special dishes but everything was also on the A la carte menu.
The gardens, which could be a lovely feature, are not well looked after.
The garden furniture was ugly and poorly arranged.

Very happy that we were able to charge our electric car with you. Big bonus!
We would have liked more vegetarian/vegan options on the menu but the chef helped out as best he could.

We stayed just one night but wish we had stayed longer, a lovely hotel, very nice stylish room and all of the staff were friendly and helpful.
There was nothing we didn't like, we did stay on a Sunday though which meant most places in the town was closed but this is no fault of the hotel.
