Overall a pleasant family friendly stay

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The property is beautiful. We really enjoyed the fire pits and game areas. It’s great for families.

There is no AC in the rooms which requires leaving windows open at night. Not great for security. The rooms also have very poor lighting. There’s no sheer under the curtains so when you leave the curtain open for light everyone can see into your room.

A lovely hotel, very close to the beach across a charming park. The rooms are furnished in a very authentic and stylish manner. There is a lovely fire pit area, but it doesn't give off much heat, so it's more of an atmospheric addition.

There is no free water in the rooms or at the reception desk.

Decent stay, great outdoors. Rooms can have improvements.

Has lot of open space, managed well with leisure items to play and spend time. Nice breakfast restaurant walkable on-site. Good playroom for spending time together as family. Ease access to highway 1, secluded beach. Short drive to cambria and san simeon. Decent parking I guess. Service was prompt.

Rooms did not have AC nor FAN, windows have netting so can leave it open but it was hot during our stay making it not easy to sleep. No handheld shower so folks has to use overhead shower, no handle to hold in the bath tub, had a problem as has senior family members. Not sure if the pool is heated.

I was able to relax and enjoy time with my 2 teens on summer break.

Beautiful place with plenty to do on site or in the surrounding area. Also quiet and relaxing. Fire pits are a huge plus. And the beach is steps away. I would definitely stay again.

I would suggest a slight upgrade to the bathroom. Not a deal breaker.

Excellent location and beautiful property right on Moon Stone Beach

Great location and expansive property with all nine acres. We utilized the grounds, sat in the Adirondack chairs and played with our dog on property. Very nice.

We didn't know that maid service didn't happen for a 2 night stay. It would have been helpful, with accumulated trash, etc. it would have been beneficial.

Amazing hotel!

One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. Front office person very welcoming and friendly. Room was beautiful and the grounds were superb. If you want to experience the pure beauty of Cambria without crowds this is the place to stay. Close enough if you want to be in the more crowded area but far enough away from this hustle and bustle to really experience a quiet beach area and rest. Has a pool and outside seating where you can sit out at night around multiple fire pits. The grounds are so lovely to walk and the rooms are inviting with very nice decor. If you are heading to Cambria, I would highly recommend this hotel for a truly enjoyable stay.

Beautiful location and amenities for families to enjoy.

The property is huge and lovely. The ocean is right across the street (steps away). They offer a pool, game room, and firepits and it was nice to see them being used. The breakfast was very good, not offered free but very reasonable. Lots of choices and is offered in room or in their dining area

The only complaint was that our room was upstairs which I didn’t know or didn’t ask. We are in our 70’s capable enough but hard lugging all the bags . The chairs in the room are not very comfortable . The bed however was VERY comfortable.

Beautiful location.

It was beautiful, I stayed here for a wedding. The bonfire pits are amazing. Nice beach access from the hotel.

Only complaint is.. I do not stay alone when I travel. This time I did. Thank God at the end of the wedding that was on site, my room was next to all of the brides family. I had a guy in a black hoodie standing outside of my room. I literally felt so uncomfortable, there are no cameras. The time of me closing my door and locking up my room, he slipped a note under my door. His phone number. I was so uncomfortable. Couldn’t sleep after that.

Really nice property, the best outdoor setting on Moonstone Beach with trees.and greenery and places to sit around fire pits. Lots of activities provided. It does not have the full ocean views of other Moonstone venues, but parks and the ocean are just across the street. Pretty rooms.

i liked it all, but the toilets are very low, so be warned if you have knee problems.

Soul Food

The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home, and provided us with some great recommendations on where to eat. Cambria is a gorgeous quaint little town situated down the road, but a little too far to be walkable so best to have a car. The fire pits and fairy lights are magical at night, and the property is situated across the road from the beach and reserve. Moonstone beach is beautiful, and filled with natural gems - definitely worth a visit and accessible from the ranch. There are small fridges in each room and a shared ice machine, but also a bigger shared kitchen with a microwave if you want to eat in. Big comfortable beds for a good nights rest before completing our road trip from SF to LA. There is also a pool but we didn't get a chance to use it. Great value, natural setting and just what we needed for a peaceful stopover and great scenery. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We'd go again - the location is amazing - choosing the cabin next time!

The location on Moonstone Beach Drive is ideal—there is no traffic noise, and it is right across the road from the ocean and walking path. The staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. The shower was great and the back patio (we had a King/patio view) made it seem roomier. The grounds have fun outdoor games, firepits, and plenty of grass if you bring a dog. The room heater worked well.

The hotel is 'well-loved' and could maybe use a few upgrades. The mattress was a little sunken in the middle.

Mixed Reviews

Location at the end of moonstone Dr insures less people traffic. The grounds of the property were sprawling and country-like. Many wholesome activities to enjoy.

Check-in. There is routinely only one person on the property to assist with any need. The desk manager was away, assisting another guest when we arrived. I waited 15 min. When I saw her in the parking lot, she was rude, and the exchange went downhill from there. I will say that her job must be difficult, but the hospitality industry demands politeness, and a "What can we do from here to help," attitude regardless. She treated me like a second class citizen for having used booking.com - which I will not do again. The on-site managers that followed her were helpful, but didn't seem truly comfortable in their role. The bathroom floor was filthy on the floor around the legs of the vanity. The wall and floor around the shower were bubbled and orange/yellow from water damage. I paid extra for an in room fireplace and we were given 1 tiny gunny sack bundle of broken up duralog type material for free each day that lasted less than an hour. There was a $6 charge if you wanted another tiny bundle. Given what we paid for the room, we should have been given as many as we wished.
