Poor quality room and service.

The location only.

The parking garage and some of the downstairs lobby smells of poop, a sewer issue. There was a cockroach in our room. We were billed even though we paid thru booking. Com and still they have not refunded our money. Out TV was broken, we notified them and it was never fixed. All and all very unpleasant and outdated room. Won’t be returning again.

No valet parking, $30/night parking fee, argument at front desk on check-in, not friendly, breakfasts were sub-par and oily, only ONE trash can in our room. Overall, not worth the price this time compared to previous stays there a couple of years ago.

Centrally located so the need for a vehicle is minimal as you can walk wherever you’d like to go in the main area.

We had one of the cabana rooms and the sliding glass door leading to the pool area was secured only by a latch that was loose and did not give me the most confidence in terms of its ability to keep the door secured. Someone could easily force it open and there were marks and dents on the metal frame showing evidence that it had been pried in the past.

Charged me 3 different deposits on the same room over here days. Aug 1-3. It is now Aug 30th and my 300.00 total in deposits have still not been refunded to my card and account despite several trips back to the location to resolve this issue. This is absolutely not right for any company to do if they expect return customers. I will never stay here again and am now weary of staying at any other Hyatt locations.

Hot and Stuffy

The bartender was nice in the hotel lounge and it is well located in downtown right across the street from our favorite tiki bar.

The air conditioning did not work. The whole floor was warm. It was 100 degrees outside and we couldn’t get our air to get to a temperature below 78 inside the room. Our only saving grace was we had brought our own fan other wise it would have been way worse. The rooms were old and the room smelled like smoke. If we could have gotten some airflow through the whole suite it probably wouldn’t have been so noticeable. I think this was an Embassy Suites they just changed the name on but did nothing else that aligns with the Hyatt brand. Again all things I probably wouldn’t even thought twice about if the AC was working.

The property was fine

Booking was my problem with this stay. I rented a vip room with two rooms for three people. As displayed on bookings site, I should have had a room with one king and one queen bed, instead, I find that I only had one king bed and a sleep sofa. This was not what I was lead to believe I had. Hyatt’s website was accurate, but bookings was not. I had to purchase another room for my stay. This was a terrible experience! I’m thinking I will book my rooms in the future without bookings.

Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.

Location

Customer Service was horrible. We were finally comped our entire stay due to all the problems listed below: *Check-in was horrible. A trainer took all of our information and charged deposit and 100 per night incidentals. We waited almost 3 hours for check-in. When we received email to check-in they didn't have our information. Checked us in again, but CC was declined. Called our finance, they said they were pending charges. Finance increased CC to allow us to check-in. Upon check-out looks like 2 additional rooms were still accounted for, would have been nice to know as our rooms weren't in working order at all. Again, spoke with them saying NO we never entered those rooms and would have love to have been moved to a real room earlier in the process. Manager wasn't available during any of this process. *1 room there was no hot water for 2 days, finally moved me to a bubble room (adjoining room). We called every night and day to notify them problem wasn't resolved. AC didn't work day 1. *1 room had no AC day 1. Engineering fixed the problem. *1 room smelled like sewage, we notified them of problem and AC didn't work day 1. Engineer went up to room, said it was to be not in service - moved to bubble room on last night of stay. Lastly, a security guard walked in on one room late at night and scared the daylights out of my co-worker. He said, he had to check it out because the room said VACANT. We notified front desk of the problem and asked questions regarding incident. This was the worst stay we have ever had, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff, MR. TJ and MR. Ocean were amazing. Great people and they definitely made you feel like we were at the four seasons.

The lack of cleanliness of the rooms. I had to switch from 239 to 534 because there was a roach in 239 and I was with my wife and children. Not a good start to our first time staying here.

Highly recommend this hotel primarily because of the consistently good customer service & location

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious with good facilities. Restaurant was good too - surprising that more folks don't use it but this may be because of the early evening close times. The Location is superb, more or less right in the centre and has an easy ride to the airport - Uber was only $15 including $3 airport fee.

The position along the main road was perfect, my wife spent quite a bit of time in some of the shops

Upon our arrival, we were greeted enthusiastically by the Concierge to unload our luggage and whilst checking in, Juan, of the Front Desk staff, offered my wife and myself a glass of wine each, that we readily accepted and chatted while we checked in. He did a wonderful job without any issues. The manager Jess was also very courteous & friendly toward us.

It was roughly 100F that day and we thought we would like a swim in the pool to cool down a bit, but the pool water was also quite warm and understandably so due to the Summer weather & temperature. It was great anyway and I understand that is to be expected.
