A boutique mid century wonder in the heart of Palm Springs

A fantastic mid century piece of Palm Springs hotel history that has been meticulously restored to honour its past and its designer. We loved our stay at Del Marcos - a cool, fun and friendly vibe in the heart of Palm Springs. Beautiful rooms, fun names (ours was Shag). Great coffee and tea and endless ice and air misters to keep us cool in the searing June sun. Beautiful food from the sister property next door too!

Not super clean, no front desk staff for the first 3 days of our stay. We had to check in at the next door hotel. Room was super tiny. Fridge broke. Sink clogged. Hot and cold switched in our shower.

Nice pool area

The room was outside of the hotel doors. Facing the street sidewalk. You have to get in through the street directly. The reception staff confused our room at first and gave us the wrong key. Took a while to get the correct one.

A great location near the heart of the downtown with an easy walk to restaurants, cafes and the museum. A lovely midcentury modern design. The warm swimming pool was a delight. Our room had a little kitchenette and back patio, which we enjoyed.

The property is a little rundown with little things here and there that are broken or not quite right. The lobby is closed during the day so if you need anything you have to go next door to the sister hotel.

We actually ended up not staying at the Del Marcos due to a heating issue in our room. The staff were very nice and they moved us to the Serena Villas next door which we loved.

Really looked forward to MCM experience - worn and cheapish

pleasant, quiet motel in downtown. Nice desk clerk, but suggested sister property restaurant that was most unhospitable. Excellent abundant hot water. Somewhat attractive small pool area.

Lots of sad wear. pretty bare bones, spare older rooms. No instructions for TV or keurig. I had problems operating both. No staff around, so couldn't offer help. Sort of cute/kitschy but dormitory feel. Very unattractive breakfast, no real milk and bad coffee. $39 resort fee, to pay for what?

It’s a funky little spot a block from the main strip of Palm Springs. The staff are so sweet. The continental breakfast is yummy.

It’s a bit tired in the rooms. They need general upkeep and a little refresh.

Great spot where my husband and I spent 3 nights in downtown Palm Springs and taking local hikes.

Adorable retro Mid-Century Modern style that was very central — close walkable proximity to restaurants, museums, shops and VillageFest (every Thursday). Clean, updated, well-designed rooms that step back in time (in a good way). Also enjoyed breakfast and happy hour.

Not a knock, rather a warning that could even be a social bonus: the property feels somewhat communal given that the rooms surround and open onto the private, internal pool courtyard.

Good, preferred the hot items. Liked the room and patio, but sitting area on patio was uncomfortable. Would recommend a couple comfy chairs instead of a bench. Tub was great, we used multiple times.

Making sure hot breakfast items ready by 0800. Or maybe even starting breakfast earlier ~0700. We like to leave early for hikes or golf. Didn’t like the bench seating on patio, couple of comfortable chairs would be better.

The location was terrific. You are only 1 block from Palm Canyon Drive. Well-appointed rooms and a pleasant continental breakfast.
