Great location in the best part of the Coachella Valley

The location is excellent. Walking distance to downtown Palm Springs. We slept very well in the king size bed.

Some people may not be able to fit through the shower door ha ha. I guess people were slimmer back in the day; however we were fine.

Charming, mid-century hotel, small, quiet and extremely comfortable.

Peace and quiet, very mid-century style. Comfortable bed and linens & location is ideal for walking to town.

I only wished we were told that the Jacuzzi was closed and under construction. The Chase lounges were comfortable if you had one of them with a cushion as not all the Chase lounges have cushions, therefore not too comfortable if you did not have one.

Desert Hills is an excellent place we loved it so much it was so relaxing and the grounds are beautiful and would totally recommend it to anyone it's not too far of a walk to the Main Ave and it feels like you're a world away. Relaxation loved it so much great service everything excellent

A Retro Oasis

Room 15 was fantastic! Stylish and comfortable. Exactly what I was hoping for with my first trip to Palm Springs! Loved the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood. Quiet, but walkable to restaurants.

The entrance gate was hard to find because the GPS sent us to the wrong side.

Can't wait for our next stay.

Desert Hills is perfectly located. Once we arrived, we parked our car and did not use it until we checked out. All the fun is within walking distance. Desert Hills delivers the quintessential Palm Springs experience: a gorgeous pool for a dip and the peace and quiet necessary for catching up on a book. Plus the bluest sky, the mountain and palm trees galore to top it all off.

Maybe having the hot tub in working order would add to the experience; but honestly, it is not a deal breaker.

Lovely the retro vibe, very pretty small property. Perfect location against the mountain. Self check in, instructions were fine but no staff on site. Loved the large suite, very comfy bed. Quiet & peaceful

Did not love - no outside lighting on property, pool not lit at night, hard to find way to exit. Cheap toiletries in bathroom. Very dated kitchen, peeling paint in bathroom. Brutal overhead kitchen light.

Lovely stay, gorgeous room

This place was so sweet. All the special details of mid-century modern style in this apartment, And all the great art and kitchen appliances were all in line with the mid-century motif. It's definitely more than just a hotel room, more like an apartment. Also, bed was huge and comfortable! And it's in such a beautiful location right at the foot of the desert hills. And the managers were very communicative and accommodating all throughout.

The hot tub outside was under construction but we were there during a time of year where we might not have used it but it would have been nice of the option.

Jacuzzi spa was not available for use. Looks like it is being renovated, though, so it should be in use at some point.

I would definitely stay there again

Great location. Nice ambience. Quiet. Very comfortable room and nice to have a full kitchen. The room was larger than most where I’ve stayed in Palm Springs. We spent a lot of our time sitting around the tables around the swimming pool. Well, we never saw the managers. They were very attentive by text.

Hot tub broken. There were a lot of returning guest, who said it had been broken for years.

Our new favorite place in Palm Springs!!

The property is a perfect Palm Springs getaway. It is clean all the guests were very friendly and helpful. It is a no staff hotel but the staff on the phone were very helpful, the pool was larger than Orbit In which I preferred. It was a little more open in the courtyard, which I also enjoyed and it was just as close to everything as we needed it to be to walk to our downtown dinners. I love the kitchen at the rooms were larger than many in Palm Springs, we will return again soon . We will be back.

The attention to detail in being true to its mid century roots was phenomenal - just like stepping back in time. With a mix of original and modern recreations, the hotel was completely charming and enabled us to relax and unwind. A gem!

A wonderful Palm Springs experience

Key code on the gate made it feel very safe, although it was promoted as self check-in a member of staff saw us pull in and came to show us to our room. The interiors were great and well thought out. I just loved the whole vibe of it!

Shower was difficult to figure out and it was difficult to lock the door but my partner got the knack of it. Very minor things, everything was great for us.

The property is clean and tidy with amenities you would expect in the 1950-60’s. Having a kitchenette was a bonus.

I tried to book direct with the property on their own website on the day of arrival and their price direct was double the cost of the same room on any of the major booking sites, pretty silly when you think how much commission the booking sites take. They probably ended up getting 1/3 of the website figure.🤷‍♂️. Would have preferred to give them the whole amount but no option at a comparable price to all the online booking websites. The email from them advising of your confirmation lists the gate code etc to enter as there are no onsite staff, we had to assist a number of other guests who couldn’t access the property as they hadn’t got the direct email from property & Booking.com email is 7 pages long with the important stuff buried in the middle.

The jacuzzi was broken —we stayed there two years ago and it was broken then. The Booking website lists a jacuzzi still— why? Fix the website.

Fantastic location in walking distance to all that Laguna Beach has to offer!

The location and view were fabulous! We had a wonderful time! A very comfortable and clean room. The bed was like a soft pillow! We slept beautifully! I would recommend to anyone looking to get the full Laguna Beach experience!

Disrespectful staff

I made a reservation for the King Suite on Memorial Day weekend 2023 in November 2022. Two weeks prior to my stay, I was told the room was not available due to plumbing repairs and I was offered a downgraded smaller room. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff was extremely rude and judged me based on my appearance. The staff disrespected me for no reason at all within minutes of arriving. The staff told me I had to leave the property because my room was not ready, and never offered to store my belongings or hang out by the pool for the 15/30 minutes it would take for my room to be ready. I had to vacate the property. The staff ruined my birthday weekend by treating me so poorly.

The bathroom faucet’s cartridge needs replaced. It drips constantly and if when the lever is turned on fully, water blasts out from around the base of the faucet.

Fantastic canyon views and mid-mod property close to everything. We liked that it was a small property in a quiet area.

We expected a hot tub but it was out of commission and the front gate lock was completely missing.

The hotel was quiet and charming. Very clean all around, nice linens, friendly guests. Beautiful patio and pool. Liked the close proximity to palm Canyon Blvd. Very intimate setting and friendly guests. Super easy check in and out.

The mattress was very uncomfortable and the curtains could use some updating. Pinholes in the black out curtains let light in. I would have rated this hotel much higher if the mattress had been comfortable. Kind of put our backs out.

Dream stay in sunny Palm Springs

The location is amazing, a walking distance from hiking trail heads, nested close to the tall mountains in a beautiful and manicured neighborhood. The housekeepers were very nice and efficient. the manager was extremely professional and responsive. The garden was well groomed. The king size bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette well appointed, we had our breakfast in the nook and our lunch in the patio on the large table, serenaded by birds. A wonderful place and stay. We will come again.

The jacuzzi was under repair.
