Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport

Location

3 Glass shards in our room. Stepped on one. Clearly in view of a vacuum, but missed. Turned them in to front desk. Nothing happened! No one came up to vacuum. We hope we retrieved all of them!

Absolutely breath taking, everything was phenomenal, clean, gorgeous and organized. Every single staff member was extremely kind and helpful and very courteous! I will definitely be coming back again soon.

The room was very comfortable Having an early morning flight to Seattle. It is very convenient for just having to wake up, grab ur stuff and go down and take the shuttle to the airport. The shuttle drivers are so nice and helpful.

The shuttle driver who helped my family and get all our luggage to the hotel after a really long flight was amazing. We had 8 pieces of checked luggage and four boxes containing bicycles that we moved back after a year long stay in Australia. Detroit was the last stop due to the Air Canada strike and we were exhausted. The driver kindly waited for us to get the luggage to the shuttle and helped us load everything in. This was so appreciated. The checkin was also great even though there were issues with our booking.com reservation as we had to push back an extra day due to a cancelled flight. The hotel was able to sort it out. We were so tired and ended up sleeping in. The hotel was gracious with extending our checkout time the next day without extra cost. We ended up staying a second night so we could get a bit more rest and take in a Tiger's game. It was great. The uber was about $60-70 to the city so that is something to consider if you plan to use this as a home base for sightseeing without a care. The kids enjoyed the pool and the large atrium style hotel with natural light and tons of space was a great place to hang out and relax a bit. The staff running the breakfast buffet was also friendly and provided some nice coffee. Overall an excellent experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to other weary travellers who want an easy, comfortable rest.

Because it wasn't clear if our booking.com change of date was in fact acknowledged, I was concerned whether we were going to be charged for not showing up. This is how I read the booking.com email. I did not need to worry as the hotel only charged for the night I stayed. However, it was at a slightly higher price than what booking.com offered.

The location to the airport was perfect.

It had an old feel. The room was musty or had a cigarette smell to it.

Parking. The app is not user-friendly. The cost should be added to the bill, not via an app with too much detail. It's too much hassle to stay at hotel.

Vacuum and dust! There were cut nails (fingers/toes) on the furniture and carpet. There shouldn’t have been a Parking fee in a crowded lot having maintenance.

A clean hotel near the airport with a free shuttle. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Allowed me a later check out.

Due to the design of the building, you are woken up at 7.30 as they put music on in the hotel and all swimming pool noise echoes throughout. You can also hear bar chatter due to the glass ceiling design. It seems strange for an airport hotel not to understand that some people will be needing to sleep.

The staff were very kind & helpful. The main areas in the lobby and bar/food area were nice.

My room was clean but it looked shabby as were the walls & carpet in the hallway.

I loved my check in staff associate that helped me. Her name is Felica and she has exceptional customer service. This young lady went above and beyond to help me check in comfortably. I believe she is undervalued and deserves a big Fat raise in pay for her services.

We booked and paid in advance on Booking.com for a very expensive 5star luxury hotel that has 6 eateries 2 restaurants and bars listed on their site only to find breakfast was not included no buffet breakfast available only one bar with no privacy. It felt like dining in a cafeteria not a luxury restaurant. No English tea only paper cups No milk for Tea we are extremely disappointed we could have stayed at La Quinta for $100 and got the same terrible service and they include breakfast

Our flight was delayed and we had to book an airport hotel last minute -- fortunately, this was a solid choice. It had a 24-hour shuttle service, and we didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes for it in the middle of the night. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. It served our purposes!

Our room was clean, but the hallway pretty obviously needed a vacuum.

I had two nights in Detroit and the first hotel I chose was kind of horrible. No names! But it had no amenities and I was tired after my flight and wanted dinner and a glass of wine but they had nothing. I was supposed to stay there on the way back from Canada, but I switched to the Sheraton and was much happier with it. Nice dinner, nice glass of wine, good nights sleep. Very good.

Everything is fine, I’ve been going there for about 13 years now. Lady at the front desk, Taylor was so professional and perfect! Bartender Brandon was super. In town for HS reunion of a grandson.

I liked everything except, I still don’t understand about the breakfast buffet costing $22 additional PP regardless if you are a guest or not, and the coffee $3 plus tax without the buffet. I thought it used to be a way lower rate for guests of the hotel, so that was too bad. I’ve had some great breakfasts in nice airport area hotels for no extra charge, which starts the day off right …. the food was not as good as last time I stayed, I ordered a salad the nite I got in, fried chicken little bits were way overcooked. Next time I’ll order a BLT!

The kids playing in the pool was so loud, you could hear it in the closed elevator on the 7th floor, as well as in the bar when trying to enjoy a quiet drink. I was told at check in breakfast was included. When we went down in the morning, the gal working the buffet informed us that no breakfast was included, and that we had to pay if we wanted it. We settled for just purchasing a coffee. She did give us one complimentary for the confusion. Looking back at my receipt from Booking.com, breakfast WAS included in my price. She made it seem like breakfast was never included with the room.

The staffs at the reservation are really nice. The shuttle bus to the airport is really convenient.

Firstly, the chef didn't come to work, so we couldn't have breakfast. We waited from 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., but all we got was an apology. Even the staff told us that we might have to wait for couple more hours. Secondly, the hotel was quite noisy inside, making it impossible to have a good rest. On the one hand, the exhaust pipe in the room was roaring all night. On the other hand, the swimming pool was open until 10 p.m. and on Saturday, there was a group of children playing and splashing around in it. We don't mean to blame the children for playing, but the hotel windows faced the swimming pool without considering sound insulation, which made it extremely noisy. Thirdly, although the shuttle buses came very frequently, the lady who answered the phone at the shuttle bus station had a bad attitude. When we informed her that we had arrived at the airport, she merely hurriedly said that we needed to wait for 20 minutes and immediately hung up the phone, without informing us where to wait. As foreigners visiting Detroit for the first time, we were very confused. Fortunately, we met a kind local who told us there was a dedicated waiting area.

Nice location and the shuttle to the air port was exactly what we needed. I liked that I could park my car there.

The pool and hot tub were dirty. The rooms were a bit run down. It was a bit overpriced.

I booked an upgrade, was charged for it and then was placed in a standard room where the air conditioning was broken. I went down to the front desk, they moved me and my son to a different room, promised to credit my card for the inconvenience but I never received the credit. I went down to the front desk again before we left and was told that they weren’t aware of any credit. The straw that broke the camels back was that I was never told that the breakfast buffet wasn’t complimentary and was charged an additional $46.00 for it.

Overall great experience. Room was nice, it was quiet and the pool was a perfect temperature and hot tub was nice. The only complaint was that they charge 10 dollars for parking. They rent the lot out to non guests so there were almost no parking spots to park. They do not offer room service or if they do they did not have a menu in the room.
