I was upgraded to a new room which was nice, It had snacks for me to eat and take. Though I could not figure out how to turn on the heat and the room was very cold.
The first room I was given had a bed that was wrecked, the box frame was flipped upside down on the mattress. not sure how it was cleared to rent. The thermostat in the room I was upgraded to did not work and the room was very cold.

I didn't like that the pool and gym area closed too early. I like the gym too be item all the time and the pool at least until 11 pm.

Convenience to airport
Advertised they offered free park and go parking but when we arrived we were told that parking was not offered when booking through a third party (Booking.com). Told at that time they would provide 7 days parking and gave us 7 parking vouchers for the park and go and were satisfied to pay for 4 more days out of pocket. When returning from vacation, there was an $84.00 US charged to my credit card from the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit. When called, I was told it was for parking. This charge was not mentioned at time of check-in, and no invoice was provided at this time or at our 4:30 am checkout. If their intentions was to charge, then why were we given 7 parking passes out of the 11 days required. I would have never booked this hotel if there was no parking included for the park and fly. Supervisor was supposed to call back in regards to my concern. No response.
Booking.com was contacted twice and sent all documents to prove my concern with no resolve.

The breakfast was fair in comparison with other hotels I've stayed at. The location is excellent for travelers to and from the airport. I really enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere at the hotel.
I was missing a few small items in my room when we arrived (lid for ice bucket, etc.). I asked for housekeeping, she came and replaced towels, etc., but never cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed or wiped down anything. I spent 5 days there and never had my room cleaned. I understand there's complimentary housekeeping upon request but some things should be done without having to request it. The pool was closed for maintenance but was opened later that day. The hot tub was closed for repairs and had a covering which was an eye sore. The hotel staff was awesome, which made up for the lackluster, but I don't think I would stay there again.

We had 2 cancelled flights to Japan. the first night we stayed a few doors away from Hilton Garden inn…. this night we chose to stay Hilton Garden Inn and the difference was superb. the cheerfulness of the place. the room lighting was great. the tv very nice. the beds comfy. the staff great. this hotel has a bar and restaurant. Also a little convenience area to buy snacks and drinks and beers. the location was within walking distance to a liquor store and another bar restaurant. being stranded for 2 days in Romulus without a car we learned the area surrounding our hotel.

The brunette lady working the breakfast area was very helpful. She was the kindest employee at your hotel and helped very much with explaining the voucher. The front desk never gave me my voucher when I checked in
My first impression of your hotel was that the staff behind the desk was very rude. Your rooms are not low in price, and with how stressful things have been for people with kids, without power, you'd think the staff would be a bit more welcoming. I walked to the desk and waited patiently because the only person currently at the desk was a younger black lady with straight, shoulder-length hair. She was at the desk both days we stayed at your hotel. I tried to be understanding because the phone was ringing, but the least she could have done was look at me. No one looked at me. No one said hello, please wait a moment. No one even acknowledged me. I kept waiting at least 5 minutes and then an older lady ( I think Kathy) came to the desk. As soon as she showed up, the other lady previously mentioned went to the back and didn't show up again for at least a few minutes. Still no acknowledgment of me waiting there. The older lady began doing something on the computer, and after another few minutes of no one even looking at me, she finally looked up and asked if anyone had helped me. I responded with "no. No one has even said hi to me." She responded with I'm so sorry and then began to help me, but as soon as the younger lady who went to the back heard me say no one even said hi to me, she ran back to the desk and apologized and said she's been very busy. To me, that is extremely offensive, and it honestly felt like she was ignoring me for a reason. Even if you're "busy" and your phone is ringing, you still find time to at least make eye contact or say I'll be with you in a moment. It is her job to be welcoming, despite how busy she feels she is. If you can't at least say hello to a paying customer, then don't be working the front desk. It would have been fine with me if she acknowledged me and explained it would be a moment, but the complete lack of respect to a paying customer is unacceptable.
