Loved that we could leave our car for $10 a day while we were away. The shuttle to the airport was perfect. Quick.
Maybe a bit more lighting around where the cars are parked for stay over.

The staff was very friendly, location to airport good.
Very dated. You could not adjust the showerhead and it sprayed straight out when we tried to adjust it. I thought it was going to come out of the wall. Room was very cold. We couldn’t seem to get it warm enough.

The ambience in the atrium is very nice the breakfast was nice. I like that it was a restaurant inside and the hotel sold beer, wine and liquor
The bathtub needs to be updated the heater in the room didn't get warm enough. I didn't like that because we live within 75 miles of the hotel there's a $140. Deposit. I thought that was ridiculous.

Nice clean and comfortable hotel
They locked my key card to my room because I borrowed a cleaning spray off of the housekeepers cart. They acted as if I stole it and questioned me. I thought that was quite ridiculous.

Absolutely nothing
I assumed the facility was closer to the airport, luckily I rented a car as well. We got in really late and were tired so we just rushed to the room. When getting to our room our door does not shut. The walls are molded in multiple places, the WiFi does not work. Half the lights in the room don’t work. Picked up the phone to call the front desk and of course the phone doesn’t work either. Room has a lingering odor and a draft because not only does the door not close it doesn’t go all the way to the floor so we had to sleep with the heater on.

Old, needs work, not very friendly staff, breakfast seemed thrown together and not so clean

Breakfast was ok,hot and included!
No hot water in room, heater was shorting out and it was 22 degrees outside! Pool was closed and room floors sticky

The location was close to the airport. I had a 5am flight so it was convenient for me to stay near the airport. The maintenance personnel was helpful with getting a signal on the tv.
The room was run down. The hotel aesthetics was very lackluster. There wasn’t a working phone in the room. I didn’t like the location of the room it gave abandoned basement vibes. I didn’t even feel comfortable getting under the covers and I didn’t. I slept on top of the bedspread. My sister had just given a brand new plush Michigan blanket. It came in handy.
2.0 / 10.0
The desk clerk and maintenance man were nice.
1st room they gave me was a connected room whose door to the other room would not lock and the phone in the room had no cord.
Second room had a dirty bathroom and dirty heating unit vents. Maintenance man had to connect the room phone cord into a jack that worked.
The facility was run down and had a weird smell.
The breakfast items offered were abysmal.

it was pretty inside
I brought something to their attention and showed them something as proof. There was no management at all for almost 2 weeks. All I asked for was my money back and I'm still keeping the gross thing a secret..After 2 weeks the manager emailed me back and denied everything. Never taking accountability. I will never nor anyone I know will be going to that place. It was very unprofessional how she handled it. Highly wouldn't recommend ever going to this place. Ever.

Convenient to DTW. Accommodating staff. Free shuttle to and from the airport. Shuttle driver was very accommodating to my mild handicap and helped me get in and out of the shuttle, and even hauled my heavy suitcase to my room for me. That was so kind! Inexpensive parking on site during my trip. Nice breakfast. Bed was comfortable!
Room was not clean (small pile of dirt appeared to have been swept into a small pile then forgotten). This room did not have a blow dryer, so I went without.

Convenience to airport
Ice machine on our floor was not working. Older facility.
No “to go” breakfast…brown bag option.

During my Detroit stay, I experienced the Wingate by Wyndham Roseville/Detroit and the Wyndham Garden Detroit Metro Airport. NIGHT and DAY difference. For Wyndam hotels, the Detroit Metro is a 5-star and the Roseville/Detroit is a 3-star. In other words, I liked everything I experienced with the Detroit Metro site.
I wished I could have stayed long enough to experience the Detroit Metro hotel's restaurant. And the indoor pool. And I really wished it had been closer to the location where I stayed. Wingate/Wyndam does not have equity with its locations.

Close to airport and price.
Breakfast excellent, but only 1 trash can not convenient and overflowing.
Br needs some TLC with update around the tub. Door seemed older and didn’t make me feel secure. Could hear too much noise from hallway

The breakfast and that’s it
It needs serious upgrades, the air conditioning wasn’t working right it felt like it was a tropical island in there,it smelled like mildew , and the lady behind the counter for guest services was rude, they want $250 Cash deposit to hold to make sure you don’t make the property look worse than it already looks, I liked the breakfast and that’s it the room had clean bedding and towels but the rooms look like a dump and something out of 1985!!

Convenient to DTW - free shuttle
There was some debris on the bathroom floor. It wasn’t awful, just a surprise that there was something missed during cleaning! The bed only had a nightstand on one side.

The shuttle driver, Theresa, was personable, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional.
The air conditioning in our room stopped working, making the room hot as heck.
The floor in our bathroom was sticky, and behind the bathroom door lived dust bunnies that appeared to have been there for a while.
We were in Room 1111, away from the cozier pool area, and imagined we’d entered a slasher horror movie in which we’d be murdered in our sleep. It was incredibly sketchy.

This place felt very unsafe and not appropriate for family or single traveller. However, I will say, the staff at the reception were very understanding and professional and when we requested to cancel our booking, they helped us immediately.
We did not stayed here, as soon as we checked in, we noticed all the loud noise from the pool area can be heard in the room. The curtain were barely covering the window, which by the way is pool facing. Sheets and soft furnishing was stained and did not looked cleaned. The door looked like it was been run down couple of times and would not stand if anyone tried to forcefully enter. As a single traveller with kids, I did not feel safe here and hence we checked out and moved to a different hotel.

Honestly, the price was the selling point. I figured for the price, we would get what we got, so I'm not disappointed at all. For the downsides, none of them were appalling enough for me to pretend I didn't get value out of the hotel, so I really did.
Pros: free breakfast included in the booking fee; free airport shuttle every 30min, all hotel staff that we encountered were super friendly and helpful, price was fantastic, proximity to airport and other amenities is excellent.
All the pros outweigh the cons.
Only giving critical feedback for the sake of the survey, not because I wouldn't return for the same price:
It was not perfectly clean (shaved hairs on the countertop from a previous guest, pink bacterial buildup on the shower walls), and there was a large centipede in the shower (these come up in the drains, so I can't totally blame the hotel, but I would say there is a high moisture content in the hotel, and there's plenty of water damage along the ceilings in several places in the hotel).
Cons: not enough places to hang bath towels; poorly hung shower curtain rods which don't allow the curtain to fully.close (ie causes water droplets to collect on the floor); water pipes are very loud when running any water; (some) room doors close very poorly, like they rub on the frame and you have to slam them; phones don't seem to be hooked up in the rooms (any rooms?) so you can't call the desk; one of our rooms didn't have the floor lamp plugged in, and it is because the rooms don't always have adequate wall outlets (ie for lamps or phone charges); horrible noise insulation between adjoining rooms - this totally ruined our first night when we were put next to longterm guests (the hotel has rooms permanently booked for flight attendants), who were horribly noisy in the early hours of the morning.

The pillow and bed.
It’s dirty and gross. Shower barely sprayed water it trickled. Ask for repair and it didn’t get resolved. The ac was broken but super cold. The desk said they didn’t have a blanket. I did get blankets the next day. But why be lazy and not get me a blanket.

I like the room size and the cleanliness of the room. The location is great.
I didn’t like that they ran out of towels and that wasn’t able to provide me with any. I didn’t like the fact that the hotels restaurant food was not tasteful. The phones in my rooms were not working to reach front desk.

The room was good, roll in shower ok
They did not inform us at check in that the room would not be refreshed. Had to go to front desk for clean towels (had to turn in dirty ones to get new ones), had to go to front desk to get coffee and cups for the next morning. We were there for three nights. Would not recommend this hotel.

It was dirty and nasty and the room had Random carpet laying around with nails sticking out of it and I had my 5 year old son with me! He could have been seriously hurt! The staff were difficult and not very willingly helpful!

The location of the property was perfect, I had an early morning flight and I hate mornings therefore I needed to be close to the airport.
There’s a few things that would make me never stay there again while visiting Detroit. There’s supposedly a $140 cash only deposit. Which is fine because they’re protecting their property. However while checking in, I noticed some people did not pay the deposit, I had to. The receptionist would not move forward with checking me in until I got the cash from the atm. Second the door to the room was janky and didn’t open or close due to it slightly being off the hinges. The ice machine on the second floor didn’t work. Furnishings and fixtures throughout the hallways. Checking out was the worst experience of my life and I’m an airline employee who practically lives in a different hotel every week. I go to check out and get my cash deposit back and to ask the receptionist what time is the shuttle leaving, she said I had five minutes, not a problem. At four minutes prior to departure of the shuttle she just walks away ( I assume to go visually check the room) and the shuttle pulls off. I tell her that he’s gone. She said well I’m not giving you your deposit back… I don’t smoke or drink and I took care of the room. Not to mention I wasn’t even there the whole time. My guest was still there. No problem, I will call him to tell him to leave. What was so wrong to me is that none of the people that checked out and made the shuttle got their room checked.

I love the easy check-in , the building was so beautiful, as was my room. The water feature and trees in the pool/cafe area were so nice while I ate my breakfast. I honestly wish my stay had been longer, I felt very comfortable and safe while traveling alone. I stayed at Motor City Casino the following evening with a friend and while it is an impressive hotel, the bed at Wyndham was so much more comfortable by a long shot. I read a lot of reviews that said the building needed to be updated and that everything felt old and worn down. I didn't think that at all. While definitely not the most modern of facilities, I sincerely felt like I paid far less than I could have for such a nice place. As a single person, I didn't mind, but if I had traveled with my spouse, I'd have been upset about only 1 nightstand.
I did not love waiting alone, in the middle of the night, for over an hour and a half for a shuttle. Another shuttle driver was concerned about how long I waited and even tried to call the hotel and get someone to come for me. I saw the same busses from other hotels come around several times while I waited.
When I finally got to my room, I was tired and didn't notice the dark curtains were tucked really far in and thought there weren't any, so the bright parking lot lights were difficult. This is 99.9% on me, but leaving them more visible is worth the consideration.
