Nice enough place but but of a mice problem!

Nice place you can tell they did some renovations to make it nicer than previously. Staff were very nice and friendly and bed was quite comfortable

Saw 2 mice in my room over the 3 days I was there! Not a fan of mice being around my stuff kinda freaked me out. Hopefully they can get this problem under control. Also being on the side with the road is very loud and you can’t block out the noise unless you have ear plugs

Solid hotel, good location, a little tired

The hotel is comfortable, and well located. Close to the beach on English Bay, close to Stanley Park. There are buses to take you downtown, and also to the airport bound train.

The hotel is a little tired. There is quite a smell of cannabis in the air outside - but this is hardly a problem unique to this hotel.

Great value for money

Loved the location, was near alot of walks and good sightseeing Hotspots. Room was comfortable and well laid out. Loved the facilities they offered in the room, especially the microwave.

The hotel has a pub, so they did have a night of loud music and partying till 3am which kept us awake as our room was above it. Wasn't ideal but didnt ruin the holiday.

Location of the hotel - superb view of the water and close to places like Stanley Park Nice rooms - room decor was nice Coffee maker in the room - morning coffee/tea is a great thing to start off while in the room

Choice of breakfast - should have ben buffet instead of choosing one item from a menu Breakfast time - should start earlier. It starts at 7:30am, while in many places, the usual start time is 6:30am or 7am, giving the flexibility of having breakfast and starting off on our plan earlier in the day.

Staff were neither unfriendly nor enthusiastic to see us, though they kindly accommodated our request for a kettle. Very comfy room for my family member and I and had a nice couple lazy lie ins on the very comfy bed. Great location for exploring downtown.

Parking rate was a little expensive but guess that shouldn’t be a surprise for downtown city centre. Had some issues with their lift (scanning room card to call it) - anticipate it may need an upgrade.

Overall happy - especially location

Great location in English Bay, near restaurants, shops, coffee, supermarket, beach, photo opportunities. From the Sands, we walked to Granville Market and rented bikes just over the road to explore Stanley Park and False Creek. We even walked from The Sands to Gastown. This place was more affordable than many other downtown Vancouver hotels

Power went off two mornings - the lady at reception said it was a recurring problem with an overloaded fuse. She could have been a bit more apologetic. Our room got a moderate amount of road noise on weekend evenings

Bad Reception service

Bed is comfortable, overall clean, local is good.

The two reception staff on site on September 27 night are really cold and rude. When we request normal things, they show clearly inpatient and cold attitude and no welcome at all.

The cramped parking where a bellhop told me to park and then I get a warning telling me not to park where I was told to because I was in a space reserved for smaller cars but every car in the lower level was a full sized SUV.

Good price and location if you just want somewhere to sleep

It was close to everything, clean, and the bathroom was modern

I don’t know if this is common in all Canadian hotels but only had one loud window air conditioner, no kettle (had to use coffee machine for a cup of tea), no plates or cutlery to have a bowl of cereal or make a sandwich but was given some from a nice lady in the restaurant downstairs

The location was amazing. We could walk everywhere. The area is safe. The ocean is just a short walk to the end of the block

The hallways smell like cigarette smoke. Having said that, the rooms did not. The lobby is not inviting at all and the entrance is confusing. We found the front end staff to not really know what they were doing. The told us we did not have a reservation, when in fact we booked & paid months ago. They found it eventually. They told us one day 1 that our breakfast was included. The second day, they said it was not and we needed to pay. They were short with us, almost like we were interrupting their personal conversations.

Big Dissapointment!

There were ants in the room, ants in the sink, crawling on the bathroom floor, and on the desk. The room was dark, and the air conditioner smelled, and there was mold inside the air conditioner. When this was mentioned to the front desk they did not seem to care.

Location was amazing. Right on the beach with plenty nice restaurant and bar options nearby.

The small room was a sauna - so hot. The AC was also very old and loud. Not a great combo. The parking garage was right outside our window and also really loud. We barely slept.
