Clean hotel close to the airport with parking, breakfast experience could be improved

Sleepless In Richmond

Fast check-in, large room with plenty of storage and comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom with two power outlets. Great location with walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Shower was too small, just like a telephone booth. Noise from departing aircraft at 1,000 feet altitude was uncomfortable during the night which made sleep difficult. This is not a fault of La Quinta, rather a condition of the prevailing winds at the time, causing take-offs in our direction.

The Breakfast was poor with carbs. The pool was incredibly small!! If you wanted to check on earlier than 1500 it’s a cost! The hotel is right on the flight path!

The hotel is very noisy and not really soundproof. You could hear all the aeroplanes flying over. You definately need earplugs to sleep well.

Basically ok.

Staff had a no can do attitude that included the owner. Never offered to help if there was an obvious reason to. Stayed elsewhere on my return, less money, superior breakfast and staff was happy and helpful.

Breakfast was good, we were s little late for breakfast but they still accommodated us.

Just reminding clients that the check out tim is at 12pm and not 11 am.

Stay good and bad communication

Good location

Staff were usually very nice and helpful. We tried to store 1 suitcase for our 2nd visit, reception explained to us that they don’t have this service due to small storage space. We were requested to see the manager if possible to get an exception but was refused. A lady was finally saw us but using a VERY POOR attitude and shouting in front of her office that they don’t have this service. We trust a good manner is very important to communicate and not damaging all the good merits.

It looked modern and clean

The breakfast. The eggs were not well cooked, they were over cooked and the turkey sausages did not look appealing. The cereals, yogurt, toasts, bagels, cookies and cake were okay. The waffle makers excellent!

Check-in was without any problem, fast and friendly. Parking for free is possible on the area of the hotel with a parking permit given by the reception

Hotel is located in a not very nice neighborhood. Additionally the starting and landing planes unfortunately go exactly over the hotel which has not the best noise isolation. In general the hotel is already old and it is visible on interior and furniture.

Very helpful staff (front desk, kitchen and cleaners). Facilities were superb. Everything I needed and wanted (drinks station, breakfast, gym, room size, bed, blinds, bathroom, thing to put suitcase on, coffee machine with decaf, wifi) Cleanness and location great also.

Small negatives were some noise from planes and the breakfast wasn’t very healthy and got very crowded.

Close to airport - good for a one night stay before an early morning flight. Walking distance to many restaurants. Free parking available.

Our room faced a busy street and was loud all night long with cars and motorcycles. The windows are old and do not block out the sound. The bathroom was rundown.
