The shower was really bad

È come fare un salto nel passato! L'edificio è dell'epoca georgiana e anche tutti gli arredamenti lo sembrano (noi in camera avevamo il letto a baldacchino e perfino un vecchio stira pantaloni ad elettricità!). Il bagno è di recente ristrutturazione e funzionale. Per arrivare a Bath è necessario avere la macchina, ma ci si arriva in dieci minuti. Il personale è solare e disponibile. Colazione full english breakfast.

A noi è piaciuto moltissimo che fosse tutto così "antico", ma qualcuno potrebbe invece pensarlo come vecchio o trasandato. Per quanto le superfici fossero tutte perfettamente pulite, è difficile mantenere pulita la passamaneria e i tessuti dei rivestimenti di vecchie poltrone e baldacchini. A colazione avremmo gradito del succo di frutta e delle marmellate ma a disposizione degli ospiti c'erano solo fette di pane da grigliare e burro.

Booked this hotel then read reviews and panicked. We read old rooms, non working taps, mouldy kettles,overgrown garden, couldnt get into the hotel etc. However we were instantly relaxed the front was well presented (yes an old building as shown when booking) clean, with flowers in the pots, we called the number on the door and got let straight in, the rooms were dated (but that’s as shown when booking), yes there was a little pealing of wallpaper but nothing crazy. The room was big and spacious, CLEAN, bathroom was CLEAN, kettle, cups etc were clean and topped up the following morning. Parking was free, Only a short drive to Bath centre we got a Uber £5 as we found the parking crazy in the city centre. Our room backed onto the garden was well maintained a few weeds here and there but nothing bad could easily sit out there if you wanted to. Is it a modern hilton no BUT it’s shown when booking it’s dated so you know what your getting The main thing for us was it was clean and smelt fresh and we quite enjoyed looking at the old photos and furniture. Very quiet during the nights and morning didn’t hear any other guests until we were all down for breakfast. Breakfast each morning was lovely, help your self to fresh juice, toast and fruit, they then take your order for full english and tea/coffee again area although dated was clean, well set out and tasted amazing. Would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.

Nothing we didn’t like but a few things we feel could make it better other than the decor .. We enjoyed the welcome pack history of the building but think would be helpful to have a little page on what’s around, places to visit etc Maybe invest in a little snack station or vending machine as we arrived late and didn’t appear to be any drinks or snacks on offer bar the tea and coffee in the room which is fine for me but partner preferrs cold drinks. (there is a morrisons around 5 minutes drive away)
