This was an excellent break at an exceptional hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, Hotel location was great and a short 10 min walk to the centre of Bath along some very stunning architecture. Hotel facilities at the spa, were magnificent, with an exceptionally hot external pool to relax in and watch the nigh stars. Will be back and will be recommending to friends and family.
7.2 / 10Good·Oct 2026
We stayed a few times recently as I had to be in Bath a few weekends in a row. Positives were the lovely setting, friendly and helpful front desk staff and good breakfast. The bar is also nice. However it clearly hasn’t been renovated since opening and the rooms and the general interior is quite tired. On our most recent stay the safe didn’t work and, most annoyingly, the bath wouldn’t drain while we showered so the bath tub quickly filled up with water, including material from the drain. We asked if maintenance could fix it and the maintenance guy turned up without any tools and, after pulling some stuff out of the drain with his fingers (which didn’t help things), effectively said we’d just have to live with it.

We recently had a lovely family stay here and were so impressed by the hospitality. The bedroom was very nice, comfortable, and we were incredibly grateful to have great air conditioning. The hotel bar has a beautiful atmosphere and is a lovely spot for a drink, and the historic grounds are absolutely beautiful to walk around. What truly made our stay special was the staff—everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The manager in particular was exceptionally nice, respectful, and professional when we spoke. A beautiful property with top-class customer care. We would absolutely recommend it!
6.8 / 10Average·Aug 2026
The hotel was very dated, cobwebs and dead spiders in corners, we kept having to get rid of big spiders. Moths everywhere and the room smelled of damp every time we put the air con on.
The main hotel looked beautiful, and a nice walk to the town centre. Grounds were well kept. But the part of the building we stayed in was old and smelled awful.
Staff were so friendly and happy to help at all time.
