    Staying at the Royal Highland Hotel was really nice, it felt like a nice hotel from the 1960's. It was clean and had beautiful antique-looking amenities but everything worked well. I was worried it would be loud being so close to the station but it wasn't an issue at all and the location made it easy for walking a lot of places. Would definitely recommend, especially if you like older-style hotels

    Conveniently located right next to the station their cream tea in the traditional decor of the hotel was delightful. We didn’t hear any train noise from our room but was disappointed there was nowhere to hang shirts etc. Room clean and comfortable. Floors dipped in places due to the considerable age of the building but we found this part of the charm. Only a continental breakfast was included with our booking and we had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast which was not made clear on the Agoda booking site. The location was obviously very convenient for the station as it backed onto it, but also only a short walk down to the river, the castle and numerous great places to eat, but we would recommend you book at least a day in advance as they were all very busy.

    Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel. We wanted somewhere close to the train station, you couldn't get any closer. Our room was a little dated but clean and comfortable, and was happy with the price I paid.

    The foyer is exciting. The rooms are awful. Musty. Peeling wallpaper. Outdated. Not maintained. The hallway carpet needs help. The plastic flower arrangement in the foyer was not updated for 10 years,possibly. The foyer chairs were sticky and run down. Not much good i can say. The picture of the grand staircase in the advertisement is deceiving.
