L échappée du Vieux Lille Charme et Authenticité

This apartment is in the best location. We walked from Lille Flanders to the apartment. Such a lovely walk through the city. The apartment is on a quite street but just around the corner from busy streets (so it is nice a quiet but you don't have to go far for a restaurant, bar, shop, bakery, atmosphere). The first night we turned left out of the apartment and walked to the main square and then to Lille Vieux. Didn't need to use public transport as the location is so central. The next day we turned right out of the apartment and within minutes we were in the most beautiful park with a zoo, playgrounds, restaurants, cycle paths, scenic walks, cancal, old citadell (you can't go in as it is in use by the French Army- but there are lovely walks around it). We hired boats on the canal and went for a sunset cruise with pizza on board. Kids loved it. Cannot recomment the location of this apartment enough. We walked to Lille Europe train station on the morning we checked out. Again a lovely walk through the city before it fully woke up. Apartment had a washing machine and lots of clothes horses for airing clothes which was most appreciated. Apartment was on the ground floor and the shutters were closed when we arrived which meant it was lovely and cool and dark after the hot sun and the sweaty walk from the train station - a welcome relief!

The stairs up to the bedrooms felt a bit rickety and steep. Not a problem for us but if someone had small kids or mobility issues, I wouldn't recommend. There was no dishwasher tablets.

L'appartement est très bien situé pour les visites de Lille. Il est calme.

Recommandation : arranger les petits dysfonctionnements et fignoler la décoration pour qu'il garde son côté original, atypique et confort

The location next to the Parc de la Citadelle: that was just perfect. The size of the rental was just fine too, as well as the layout of the rooms.

The inside of the dishwasher needed to be cleaned, and the fridge needed to be de-iced. The kitchen equipment is old (functional but broken burners).
