Cute and comfortable

Great little place in old Lille, tucked down a quiet alleyway behind a street door. Nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and with a well equipped kitchen. It's just a short walk away from some great restaurants in the old town. Good comms with the host and we'd definitely recommend it.

The stairs are steep which may be an issue for some people - we were fine with it. Two extra pillows would have been appreciated but that's just a small thing. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful cottage in Old Lille, perfect stay

Lovely cottage in an inner courtyard in Old Lille, great interior decoration, very well equipped, comfortable bed. Perfect location minutes away from bakeries, restaurants, shops, historical buildings and other touristic places. The host was very helpful in everything we needed, including being flexible with check-in and check-out.

The host was excellent and very helpful when I was early - I was able to leave my bags in the property. It was very much appreciated. Instant response whenever I needed it.

It would have been nice to have shampoo but that was only a very small thing.

We loved Lille but wish we had chosen somewhere more central to stay.

Location lacking in french restaurants but with a lot of bars

The accommodation was not suitable for tall people. My husband could nt stand in the shower and the head light over the bed on the mezzanine was low. The stair up to that floor should have had a handrail and were not safe enough.

Maybe not the worst but far away from exceptional!

Great location in the old town and very close to centre, shops,… Very quiet area.

Bed must be improved! too small and not comfortable at all! bathroom very small with old-fashion bathtub! Impossible to regulate water temperature and if you stand while having a shower, your head is in the ceiling!

Frustrated that key lock details were not provided prior to arrival. We did not gain access until 5.

The stairs leading to the bathroom and bedroom were very very steep and could cause problems if a guest has mobility issues. Only 2 bedroom pillows provided I had to get cushions off the lounge to make it comfortable.

Perfect retreat just around the corner from the action…

So we’ll located just around the corner from the action. A laundrette & a great boulangerie close by, what more could you ask for. Just like Narnia, you never know what is behind the door from the street… Such a pretty courtyard, a bright light room, with attractive decor which really fits the vibe of the space, lots of natural colours. Safe space for the bikes, amazing in the middle of such a bustling city.

We really enjoyed staying at La Corderie, the design, the flair and the location. We'll be back.

The house is pretty small, but has made the most of the available space. Rarely have we seen an AirBnB with a better, more efficient usage of space! Plus, the decoration is done really well, so the flat has a nice, relaxed, and stylish feel to it. The small space in front of the house is also not large, but rather useful to have for sitting outside and enjoying a coffee. And, if one wants to be close to town, the location of the flat hardly could be better - everything is in walking distance.

The stairway to upstairs (bedroom, bath) is rather steep and narrow - not a problem for us, but people that are somewhat less mobile probably will be challenged by it (just something to be aware off). The outside space in the front is cozy and nice, but not very airy (surrounded by walls), and it is being shared with tenants in the other 3 flats, hence do not expect total privacy when outside. The kitchen tools/glasses are functional, but could use a bit of an upgrade eventually.

Great Building but disappointed in the host.

the property location was great, the facilities were lovely and clean and well looked after.

we could not get hold our host at all. we had been given two different codes to get into the first gate that we had so we’re stood outside for over 15 minutes trying to get in until we realised we had been sent two different key codes. we tried calling the owner twice to no avail, and then we got texts saying the number linked to the booking was not the person we were calling so they have the wrong number on booking.com. and we were required to pay for parking, after continuously asking where to leave the money we got no answers at all and decided to just say where we were leaving it and then take pictures so we have evidence. the communication was absolutely terrible considering the booking description states “heating is externally controlled please contact the host for any changes” yet we could not get hold of the host at all. had we of had an emergency we would have been left to deal with it alone. totally unreachable.

- location close to the Citadel and the city centre, - bathtube, - very comfortable bed, - fully equipped kitchenette, - coffee machine with a - decent contact with the concierge.

- delicately unpleasant smell in the toilet, - cold floor, - no wardrobe, - relatively low bathroom ceiling, if you're ~1.90 m you may give yourself a bump, - if you don't use taxi or car, you need to drag your suitcase through bumpy, cobblestone streets to get to the place.

Unprofessional, unclean, poor communication

The door code is easy to work out and not secure - within an enclosed yard of 4 flats. Another guest arrived and said that they had been given the code to our door and wanted to stay there. However the flat was uncleaned - despite the fact we had paid in advance. The other guest took another apartment which was clean. Our party of 4 people waited 3 hours for someone to clean the apartment - a large mount of time as we were only in Lille for one evening. They did sort clean the flat and did apologise - but both the host and booking.com have not responded to our complaints - v poor customer service from both. We paid over 220E. Would definitely not book again

Good central location

The location is great and very central - within easy walking distance of most sites in the old town. Plenty of grocery shops & restaurants in close proximity. The private, internal courtyard makes the place pleasant & quiet.

The crockery & cutlery that is provided was not clean & had not been washed properly. The sofa in the living room smelt bad & food had been left spilled on it. The cotton rug in the living room was not clean. The electrical socket in the bathroom did not work. The stairs up to the bedroom & bathroom are very steep & there is no handrail.

Hidden gem in Lille!

Absolutely loved La Corderie. Absolute doddle to find and to get in. The apartment is really delightful. Very well looked after with a wonderful maisonette type bedroom upstairs. Excellent location, right in the centre of the old town. We travelled on the Eurostar and it was a simple walk from there to the apartment. Would highly recommend. Nice, clean and modern. Very enjoyable trip.

Entertaining city break - our first since before Covid.

The property is located in Lille old city, about a 20 minute walk from the Eurostar station. It's one of a group of similar properties. All requirements were provided. As this is a self-catering property, we bought food from the local shops and kept it in the fridge. All the facilities in the flat made it a comfortable stay. The neighbours (some of whom seemed to be resident and some visitors) were all very friendly. Recommendations: Le Petit Farmier greengrocer delicatessen, and Le Scoop restaurant. Both a short walk from the apartment, both worth a visit.

The stairs were a little steep for me, because I have an artificial knee, but that's all.
