Location is fine.
Too cold heater not working. Bathroom not upto expectations. Toiletries were not there. Shower room had curtains which was not suitable for the small shower room. The room had only a dim light and rest of the lights were not working at all .

The price was fantastic and the room was much better than other hotels that are at a similar price in other places I have stayed
Walls are quite thin due to the age of the building so other guests leaving very early did wake us up

wasn’t expecting such a nice hotel based on price and reviews, the building itself is really unique and we loved the architecture, the room was wonderful and warm, bed was extremely comfy and had all the immenities needed, much better than any of the other cheaper hotels i’ve stayed at. staff were lovely and 24 hour check in was ideal for us. will be staying here again:)
the only fault i can give is the shower was a bit hard to get to a normal temperature but aside from that it was perfect.

Absolutely nothing, room was not clean, had a guest arrive at midnight, screaming and banging on our door and other guests.
The tea tray was dirty, the soap dispenser empty, felt old and dirty. Terrible experience

Booked a double room ended up with a twin room, complained about this and they put the beds together with the beds at two different heights..
Was 15* outside and 25* (radiators on full blast and unable to turn one down) Had to leave the windows fully open during the night our bedroom was situated next to the main road, next to a traffic light crossing. My partner felt insecure due to the windows being wide open and not on a security latch or anything aswell as being on ground level. none of us really slept
The tv had no signal so no decorations or entertainment, The room was wallpapered
With no decor, there were 2 heaters and no fan in the room. The public area smelled like medicine.
The car park is practically a building site and not so pretty to the eye & Pulling into the car park at night we thought the hotel looked daunting, run down, not open

The price was cheap, there was onsite parking and it was a convenient location in Nottingham.
It really was a budget hotel. The floor was filthy, there was no hot water, there was no suitable covering over the window to the bathroom on the ground floor, so was completely see-through, no TV signal, no hairdryer and the room had a really unpleasant smell. The staff said they'd only come into possession of the property a week or so ago and had not had the chance to begin refurbishment but from other similar reviews, I can see that it's been in this state for far longer under the same management so I don't appreciate being lied to.

Convenient location, near the university. Cheap. A nice building which has seen better days. The retro decor, which reminded me of my childhood in the 70s.
Place was dirty and dated, the hotel smelt musty. Bedsheets were stained with the unthinkable, duvet cover appeared to be dirty. TVs didn't work in either room as they were connected to nothing. No wifi. Hardly any staff around. We only had a key for our rooms, no key for front door, so main hotel door was left unlocked at night as there appeared to be nobody on site.

Location was convenient
No one at front desk when arrived, had to call a number and wait. We were not formally checked in.
The whole place was incredibly dirty, and the room was filthy. There was no toilet roll and only one towel, we asked for more and were told to wait 15 minutes.
There was old shower gel half spilled in the shower, hair in the bath, some scissors on the sink. The whole bathroom was grimy and disgusting.
On the second day, the main light in the tiny room stopped working. All the pull cords didn't work and were also dirty.
Awaiting refund.

Easy access once we found the car park (the post code directed us to the co op just down the road!) pleasant staff, tidy and a comfortable bed. Less than 20 minute walk to the event at Highfields sport complex which is what our stay was for.
Very dated and basic but as expected for the fair price. Could do with a thorough clean, an updated shower and some moth balls! We booked the room for two and only got one towel but more could be requested.

This is an older residence and the decor is tired but if you want a budget place to stay where you will get the basics:- a bed, a shower, a kettle, a fan, an iron, 2 teabags and some milk ... it is incredible value. The kind of place for a trip where you'll only sleep and shower in the room and use it for abt 12 hours total - most of which you will be asleep. There used to be many more of these B&B type places where a cycle tourist or a trades person could grab a bed on a budget. i wish there were more.
And i mean basic but i had a great night's sleep, a hot shower evening and morning, 2 teas, 2 coffees .. and a TV to watch. These are the kind of places i have used for years whilst travelling/touring on a budget. The bonus was a very friendly reception from "Nicky"?
Other people in our group had higher expectations. If you want something else - pay 2-3 times as much for a room you'll only be awake in for 2 hours. I preferred to spend only £40 for the double room and have the other £80 to spend in the restaurant/pub down the road.
i'd stay here again. i stayed in 2022 also. I also know it from 1984 and it hasn't had a makeover since then. Free parking on the premises was great also. Cracking food and ale pub 50 yards away and right by the rail station in Beeston.
i won't say i didn't LIKE it - i'll say someone might buy the place and spend a fortune on a makeover and then charge £120 and i wouldn't like that - but then i wouldn't be staying and paying that price. It does all i need for £40

Lovely hosts, great location, the owners have just taken over a few weeks ago, the hotel is dated but clean and comfortable and I would stay again.
The owners have just taken over the hotel a few weeks ago. They've a lot to do, there was a lot of rubbish around the hotel that makes it look scruffy. But don't let that out you off.

Spacious and comfortable room with French windows opening out to the car park which was great for loading and unloading.
Nice hot shower
Great location just a couple of miles from the festival where we were working.
Our room was cleaned and the bed was made whilst we were out working which was an unexpected surprise
Excellent value for money. We will definitely return next year!
We didn't manage to get onto the hotel wi-fi during our stay. The network described on the sign wasn't available.
I did ring the owner who promised to send me the network code however this didn't happen despite me sending a reminder message.
2 small TVs in the room however we couldn't get either of them to work.
The pillows were old and flat and need replacing
