Ciao everyone! I'm Pasquale, co-manager of "Le Dimore by Borgo Tessile" with Asia. Beyond our passion for hospitality, we share a love for good food, sports, cars (for me), and art, design, and literature (for Asia). Our mission is to unveil the beauty of a place we are proud to call home, hoping it becomes your home too, even if just for a few days. Come meet us, and perhaps we'll discover something new together. You can rely on us for everything, from restaurant recommendations to tastings, historical and artistic insights into the area, to the best local boutiques. We are ready to make your stay unforgettable!
Orvieto, a city of ancient Etruscan roots, resting on a cliff of tuff by the sheer walls, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, is the ideal place for a quiet and beautiful holiday in the green hills of Umbria. It also has a favorable geographical position that allows guests to enjoy in a short time the landscape of big cities such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Perugia and small jewels such as Città della Pieve, Chiusi, Montepulciano, Assisi and Bolsena. To mention the wine and food tradition of Orvieto which follows the typical characteristics of Umbrian cuisine with a focus on recipes based on game birds (such as quails, partridges and turtledoves). Voltumna, as well as the other Dimore by Borgo Tessile, is very close to the cathedral of Orvieto (200 mt), an architectural and cultural jewel of our beautiful country. Moving around the historic center requires a slow and steady pace, which will allow you to reach every corner of Orvieto in just a few minutes. The main means of transport are the "pollicini" (minibus), which go around the city, and the funicular that leads from Piazza Cahen (in the historic center, about 10 minutes walk from the apartment) to the railway station in Orvieto Scalo and the other way around. After a nice walk through the streets of the town you can't avoid to stop at one of the Corso's wine bars to sip an excellent local wine accompanied by typical excellences such as cold cuts, cheeses and much more.
On request you will have access to a private garden to relax and enjoy the myriad of colors given by the vastness of plants, flowers and trees present. Guests will be required to pay the tourist tax in cash at the property. The tax in the municipality of Orvieto for our type of activity amounts to €2.20 per person per night (payable for a maximum of 5 nights).
