Newly renovated Boutique Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in the heart of Salzburg

The room was a bit small, but very clean and the location of the hotel was superb.

Charming hotel, beautifully furnished. Great room with windows on two sides, little sofa, comfy bed and nice bathroom. Located well for the main station (walkable) and for any Panoramic Tours you may choose to take - the pick up point is a 5 min walk away (Sound of Music, Hitler's Eagle's Nest and others). Close to the bus/trolley bus/trams into the old town - though in reality it's not far to walk. For me the location was fabulous for arriving by train, having access to the centre and for visiting the Mirabelle Gardens. Salzberg is very classy - lots of expensive clothes shops and even the tourist shops are not tacky. Surprisingly the Sound of Music Tour (which we booked only because the weather wasn't great) turned out to be hugely enjoyable and not as schmaltzy as expected! Did the Eagle's Nest too - sadly the weather was against us. No view from the top just cloud - but going in Hitler's lift was a unique experience (apparently he hated it and was claustrophobic). Amusingly the lift at the hotel has similar colouring and mirrored walls - but a better class of user. There is a choice of restaurants in the old town close by. Very nice hotel staff - and a thoughtful touch from the management, providing umbrellas for you to borrow free of charge or deposit.

Had to pay extra for breakfast. They charge 25 euro per person for you to eat all you like. They also offered a la carte choices which were very tasty and sufficient. A small breakfast for two on three mornings ended up being 97 euros extra on top of the cost of the not inexpensive room. I object the most to being charged 4.50 for a glass of tepid water and a tea bag (dunk yourself) masquerading as a cup of tea. Owners: just add a cost onto the price of the room and save the bad feelings!

The bedroom was spacious, comfortable and beautifully done out. Everything was very clean, with attention to detail. The hotel is close to good restaurants, Mirabell Palace, the river, and old town. We walked with our suitcases from the station. The journey took around 10 or 12 minutes and was easy to navigate. We discovered that an extensive farmers’ market is held every Wednesday very close to the hotel, with beautiful fresh produce, much of it organic.

The location and the existence of elevator

My mate is amputee and she needs a plastic stool in the shower. The personnel didn't provide us with one, giving the excuse of "legal regulations" (difficult to belive!!). These is not very friendly for people with disabilities. She could't take a shower in three days.
