A comfortable, friendly and immaculately presented hotel close to all the main attractions in Sa

The reception was mainly manned by the owners and they were both extremely helpful and approachable. We particularly liked their eating place recommendations. They also booked our tables for us. The fluffy white towels in the bathroom were luxurious. Breakfast was buffet style with a very wide range of choices. The homemade cakes were especially delicious. All in all a very comfortable stay. Thank you for taking the time to bring our visitor to the eating place we were at, it was much appreciated.

Friendly staff and great location

The staff were very friendly and upgraded us for free to a bigger room which was so lovely. It was in a fantastic location to all the tourist attractions and very comfortable.

All in all a good experience

Extremely welcoming staff, great location and clean rooms. Although the rooms do not have tea or coffee machines, the hotel lets you access the professional coffee machine for all the teas and coffees you can drink at the dining area through out the day, which is even better.

Rooms are a bit on the smaller end, especially bathrooms. More convenient during short stays.

Pleasant Stay & Excellent Staff!

We were particularly satisfied with Igor, the receptionist who was very kind and helped throughout our stay. As the hotel had last minute availability we've also been upgraded to a bigger room. Additionally, we found the the location of the hotel excellent, and in ratio to it's price.

There wasn't anything particular we were dissatisfied with, however our room was tiny bit small.

Staying at the City Hotel was such a convenient location for sightseeing!

The staff was very helpful and answered all our questions . Hotel is in a great location with an easy walk to many popular sites. Also, we were able to check in early which meant a lot since we had flown from the USA over night and had not slept in 24 hrs. The staff recommended a restaurant near by that we really enjoyed. Overall, I was very pleased with our choice of hotel.

The room seemed cold to me and I couldn’t find a way to adjust the temperature.

Short 2 day stay to see Salzburg and the Sound of Music tour and it was perfect.

Location was perfect. Close to everything. Room was small but very comfortable and we were out all day and it was perfect for sleeping. We had a room that faced the back probably bc we did through booking.com but like I said, we only slept there so not a big deal. Town bells ring every morning at 6am and then the one closest to us rang once every 15 min. It didn’t keep us awake. We are early risers so it was actually really nice to hear the “wakening of the day” Breakfast was amazing! For 12Euros it’s a deal. Beautifully set up and delicious. Only thing I would like better if they offered other non dairy milk for coffee. They offered Rice milk but didn’t do much for my coffee. Oat milk or Soy would have been nice.

Location was great. Very good staff. Conveniently located all amenities. Loved the cafes and shops at the door steps. Very nice environment… loved the complimentary coffee offered by the hotel till 9pm daily..

Rooms were warm. Need air conditioning. Unable to open the windows due to no fly screen.

Conveient access to Salzburg's city sites

The location is excellent, near shops and restaurants, and across the river from the main historical area. The staffer was very nice and welcoming, both at front-desk and at breakfast.

No free parking -- need to park at an expensive city-parking garage (a small discount coupon available at front-desk). A little pricey rate (the most we paid per night in our entire trip in Austria).

Wonderful and we were sad to leave!

Fantastic location. Quiet yet close to city center. Comfortable and there was a fan in our room which really helped us sleep. The staff was lovely and kind. We were able to store our bags after we checked out for a few hours which was very convenient. Delicious breakfast too!

A traditional hotel with a great location.

The location was excellent, a short walk to shops, bakeries, supermarkets and cafes. Very close to the bridge to the old town and close to Mirabell Gardens. A 20 minute easy walk to the train station. It was lovely to be checked in by a person at reception. There was free tea and coffee all day. We didn’t have the hotel breakfast as we preferred to try different cafes around town. There was a fan in the room and the window opened wide with a nice view of the cute street below. The bathroom was small but absolutely adequate. The bed was comfortable.

Nothing major. We stayed in April but it might be quite hot in the room without aircon. It was noisy if you left the window open at night.

Excellent hotel next to old town

Excellent location, right next to old town Salzburg. We booked a family room, which was a good size for us and 2 kids. Hotel also had a breakfast area where they served excellent breakfast and had complimentary coffee and hot chocolate all day around. Special mention of hotel managers Dominic and his wife! They were excellent and went out of their way to help us with day tour plans and made sure our stay was comfortable.
