Iviscos Traditional House

Iviscos Traditional House from Artemis is located in the very best spot of Santorin: Right at the edge of the caldera at the western end of Oia close to the castle. There may be two or three more castle houses in the similar location, but not more. Inside it is all up to date 2026 standard. The owner Artemis is really great in communication by WhatsApp. She lives on Santorini since many years, knows everything and was keen to share her knowledge with us.

Well, this sounds British, although we are German: We missed a teapot. But we know this would not be Greek style...

Host was accommodating and quick to reply to our questions via Whatsapp. She was friendly as well.

I wish there were nightlights in the bathroom so we would not need to turn on the light.

Our host, Artemis, was so warm and welcoming! She and her coleague helped us carry our bags to and from the property. She was an excellent communicator leading up to and during our stay. She gave us so many reccomendations and made us feel completely comfortable text her during the stay with any questions. We absolutely adored her! The house itself absolutely exceeded our expections. Wow! We could not believe it when we arrived. The location was excellent i nterms of views and seconds from the 'sunset spot' and so many restaurants etc. The most wonderful few days!

I really cannot think of a single thing. If I had to be picky, it was that online it says the house has a washing machine but it did not. There is a washing service available which Artemis happily managed for us, but I was expecting a washing machine and when travelling this is a facility I look for before I book.

Awesome location but just know you can’t see the sunset from the deck, you can easily walk up to the walkway though and see it but there are large crowds. However the views of the caldera are spectacular and the deck is very expansive. The house is huge, well stocked with a full size fridge and freezer with ice cube trays (there is no ice to buy anywhere for drinks etc so a freezer is nice.) Full kitchen with cooktop, dishes and pots and pans, a ton of dishes and serving trays. It’s clean, beds are comfortable and deck stays shady which is really nice. Our host was so kind and helpful and did a great just making sure we had what we needed. She can do laundry for you for a fee which is also rare in these places and helpful if you are on a long trip. She also gave us late checkout which was so kind considering its high season.

The listing says three bedrooms but only one has an actual door. The 2nd “bedroom” has the living room furniture and two twin beds in the loft. The other loft has one bed but it opens to the kitchen area. It’s totally fine if you have one big family but we had a mother in law who needed her own room in addition to the parents and the kids. This is typical in Santorini where bedrooms don’t always have doors but it’s good to know.
