Ship Villa

My stay here was an amazing experience, so much so that I ended up staying longer because of the great hospitality from Mahesh and his family. The villa itself is very cozy, private, spotlessly clean, and really well cared for, so you will feel super comfortable during your stay. It has a great pool and is surrounded by nature. Mahesh takes care of everything to make your stay easy, from booking safaris and excursions to arranging any transfers you need. He really looks after his guests in a special way. A big highlight: make sure to let him cook for you! He was a chef for many years before building the villa, and he makes some of the best and most delicious Sri Lankan food I have ever tried. Both dinners and breakfasts were prepared with great care and presented wonderfully. Ship Villa is a real hidden gem in Habarana. I would come back without hesitation, and I’m happy to say I now consider Mahesh a friend. Highly recommended!

Mahesh was an absolutely top notch host. When he was cooking delicious food for us, he was taking us out on trips to see wonderful array of attractions that Habarana has to offer. The room was spacious, had a fabulous bathroom, and a powerful AC. Our week stay at Ship Villa was nothing short of perfection.

Maravilloso! Nos encantó el hecho de que solo llegar, Mahesh nos recibió con un cálido abrazo, nada común en este país...para nosotros fue algo muy significativo, y de hecho, eso es lo que nos demostró durante nuestra estancia, que es una persona de corazón. Solo llegar nos ofreció un te o café, y además ya tenía la habitación bien fresquita para nuestra llegada! Es una persona muy atenta, y estuvo siempre pendiente de que no nos faltara de nada. La habitación, con su baño privado, están en perfecto estado ya que es una construcción bastante reciente, y lo tiene todo impecable. Tiene ventilador y aire acondicionado, televisión, calentador de agua con sus tazas de te e infusiones, camas super cómodas, mosquiteras y dentro una pequeña mesita de mimbre con sus sillas muy lindas. Nos sentimos en completa privacidad ya que la casa-habitacion tiene su terraza, con mesa y sillas, y su piscinita privadas, rodeada de un bonito jardín, y al lado viven Mahesh y su hermosa familia, siempre pendientes de lo que puedas necesitar.Fuimos para una noche y nos quedamos tres!! Cabe decir que Mahesh es cocinero profesional con una trayectoria de más de veinte años, y junto con su mujer, cocinera nata, preparan la comida más sabrosa y variopinta que hemos probado en Sri Lanka de momento. Está familia es un AMOR y el lugar encantador...perfecto para unas vacaciones en plena naturaleza pero con todas las comodidades. Aconsejo encarecidamente pasar por este lugar, no te arrepentirás!

The owner, the pool, the breakfast, the Young coconut, the garden. Lovely and confortable place! This place IS perfect to visit Minneriya Nacional Park and make the Safari, Mahesh who IS the owner can arrange the Jeep for you. From here you can visit also Lion's Rock and Pidurangala Rock, Polonnaruwa (1h by car), Dambulla Cave Rock Temples and Gold Temple. Then you can follow your trip to Kandy. I recommended to spend at least 2 nights here, you can visit Pidurangala Rock before your first night in Ship Villa, then the rest of the excursions. Polonnaruwa It IS just deserve It if you want to visit more arqueological places and It IS expensive 35$ per person. Mahesh, thank you ❣️
