Barely made it through 3 nights stay

Unfortunaley nothing comes to mind.

We've booked the room with seaview and got one with the window overlooking the wheels of cars parked one level up. There was a strong onion smell in the room from the previous guests cooking. The room was not clean, bedding very outdated, washed but not fresh. The hotel is located on church' premises and you get woken up at 6 am by a very loud church bell. The loction is quite far from the Kotor Old town. It said on the website that it's 15-20 minutes walk, but it's 30-40 mins at least.

“Family stay in October.

Wonderful location, the view from the balcony takes your breath away. It’s a pity we couldn’t enjoy the amazing pool, as the water temperature didn’t allow it. Close to the city center, with a beautiful walk along the promenade.A beautiful historic building with a spectacular view and super friendly hosts.

We liked everything, as we didn’t expect more than what we saw in the photos — including the bathroom equipment (for example, the shower curtain over the bathtub) and the rather old-school style

Well located accommodation with a great pool

Our hosts were amazing and very welcoming. The location was good for access to the town centre, restaurants and a market. The jewel of the stay was the pool and terrace so wonderful to sit and swim with a beautiful view of the bay. Enjoyed the coffee available on the terrace in the morning a wonderful start to the day.

Unfortunately we were in an attic room with very low ceilings, so lots of bumping my head during the stay. The big downside was the bathroom, the shower was very basic, a hand held shower head, overflowing drains and flooded bathroom floor.

AC cooled the room quickly, bed was comfortable, pool was sooo nice, coffee machine was great in the morning, views from the windows were awesome, host was incredibly nice and so accommodating! Great access to down town and to the water.

Only minor thing was that we were in the attic room and you couldn't stand fully in the shower. BUT that was so minor compared to all the wonderful parts about it.

Perfect location to walk in to Kotor or Dobrata, staff were friendly, views from the patio area absolutely stunning.

We were allocated a room which had no view despite the advertising on booking.com, when asked we were told the room we got was the room we chose, which is absolutely wasn’t. The pool was green, the owner did empty it but it hadn’t refilled by the time we left. The shower head didn’t attach to the wall so we had to physically hold it above our heads and couldn’t have showers one after the other as the water system was poor.

Beautiful views, a few perks but basic accommodation

Location was around 20 minute walk from the old town. Beautiful view from the hotel pool and seating area. On site parking. Setting is beautiful next to a church just be aware of 6am bells tolling.

Wasn’t clear it was cash payment at the accommodation-hosts could have been clearer on this or had card payment facilities. Room (6) was small and cramped for three people - read room dimensions as the pictures are deceiving. Needed to use chair to stand on to open/close windows and shutters. No view from the room. Would have been helpful to have a tray to take food down to outside seating area. Limited space for clothes in single wardrobe and had to remove shelf.

Lovely relaxing stay.

Brilliant location and a quiet and relaxing environment. All communal areas and rooms very clean. As we arrived early, the owners made sure our room was prepared first.

Some of the bedding could do with an update, especially the uncomfortable pillows. Beside tables and lamps would have been useful.

Bay views are beautiful!

The traditional building set right at the waterfront with amazing views of the bay. The hosts are super kind and helpful. It’s only a 10-15 minute walk on a bustling seafront promenade with fishermen and many people swimming and having a drink, to a large supermarket, some nice restaurants and the beautiful old town. Despite the focus points listed below, the property has a nice and relaxing vibe to it. There’s a small beach right in front of the building.

This could easily be a 10 out of 10 if only some maintenance would be done and there would be some investment in the property. A few examples: sun chairs are broken, the pool had turbid water, there’s weeds anywhere, the drain was clogged, the blinds for the window did not work, kitchen equipment and cupboards are old, sheets on bed had tears and the terrace area was missing any decoration. It’s minor things, but could make a world of difference.

Wonderful people, great location, may need a bit of tlc

The location and views are fabulous. The hosts are incredibly kind and there are three washing machines on site where they allowed us to get two loads of family laundry done

The bedding in particular felt quite old. Just getting in some fresh white sheets could really change how people experience the property. When we moved the furniture there was quite a bit of dirt and food left under the bed

Villa Kamena has the best location. Just 30 mins away from Kotor Old Town by walking. The owners are friendly and accommodating. It has the basic necessities in the kitchen and toilet.

Cozy stay with friendly hosts

Very friendly and helpful host. Loved the pool and view from the courtyard. Cute kittens to play with. Very cozy small studio with just enough space for the 3 of us and our bags. Clean. Fairly well equipped kitchen that we used to cook dinner. Great to have access to washing machine. Note: studio apartment shared with several other apartments in the building - but is relatively quiet and you could sometimes hear people in other rooms.

Villa Kamena is ideally situated for swimming in the sea and of cause, the wonderful swimming pool! Definite value for money. And the breakfast is the best!

A lovely relaxing waterfront retreat just outside of the old town of Kotor.

Our family loved the friendly staff running this property. They were so welcoming and always made sure we were enjoying our stay. We loved having the pool onsite to cools down and the gardens and terrace are well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable and offered outstanding views of the mountains and water. The location is out of the old town but reachable in 20-30 min by walking (we have younger children).

Exceptional place to stay

Everything ! Location was perfect. Shingle Beach a few steps away .. just gorgeous . Pool was clean and well maintained. The old town a pleasant half hour walk along the sea front. Host was very friendly, obliging and helpful. Free coffee available for most of the day. Room was comfortable and well equipped and with a lovely view. Couldn’t have been better… we will be back !

Beautiful place to stay in with family

Location and views are 10 out of 10! We were visiting in summer and stayed in first floor apartment. Apartment itself was so so- too dark for me, but most of the time we spent outside so it was beautiful ! You can enjoy coffee while enjoying the view,kids loved swimming pool- beaches to my kind are too dirty in Kotor so I’m happy we had pool. Really nice place to stay with family!

Bathroom needs to be done differently- its gets wet so quickly, if 4 people take shower - water is already going to rooms! And its too dark, specially kitchen!

Perfect location with a very beautifull view. Very close to Kotor center, see side. Addittionally nice pool and good breakfast. For sure worth to come back.

Excellent stay in Kotor!

The location is amazing! It’s peaceful and about a 30 min walk away from the busy area. The views were just stunning and the outdoor area, pool and accessibility to the sea was great. Our hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. We had a great time with their 3 kittens as well! Thanks for an amazing stay!

The beds were not so comfortable. And the bathrooms could use some updating and better ventilation.

Schöne Lage aber bitte das Apartment Nr. 10 im dritten Stock meiden.

Die Lage ist optimal, maximal 25 Minuten zu Fuß in die Altstadt.

Apartment im 3. Stock. Duschen in der Wanne für Personen die über 1,70 m sind unmöglich. Vermieter gefragt ob Tausch möglich ist, dieser verneinte da alle Appartements belegt seien. Dies traf jedoch nur für die erste Nacht zu, danach waren wir teilweise allein im ganzen Haus.
