Seaside holiday home in Lofoten

Bella casa singola, forse un po' datata anche negli arredi, ma per questo anche più interessante. Tutto ben tenuto e funzionale. Cucina ben attrezzata. Posizione ottimale per girare quasi tutte le isole. Tutte le stanze con finestre grandi ed una vista fantastica. Sala molto ampia, cucina vivibile, su due piani con molti posti letto.

Non pochi problemi nella gestione delle password per entrare in casa. Se tagliavano il giardino saremmo anche arrivati al mare.

The house is spacious and seemed like old farm houses, perhaps built in mid to late 1900s. There was overgrown grass outside, but a part of it was cleared before our arrival, some still left, but did not bother us as we needed it only for one night. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable.

The house is old. The biggest issue was the tap water, which was visibly brown and discoloured throughout our stay. The host insisted it was of "excellent quality", despite its appearance making us uncomfortable using it for drinking or even brushing teeth. After I complained to Booking.com, they contacted the host, who explained that the water comes from a nearby well. Whether the issue is inadequate filtration, rusted pipes, or something else, the water did not appear potable. For a property costing over €440 per night, access to clear drinking water should be a basic expectation. It was disappointing that in a country like Norway, I had to be cautious about drinking the water in a rented home. The listing contained no warning about this issue, and I later found a review from 2025 reporting the same problem. It appears that the issue has remained unresolved. My suggestion to the host would be to investigate and address the underlying cause rather than simply dismissing guest concerns. For an issue as fundamental as water quality, taking corrective action is important. Even a simple portable water filtration system would be a helpful improvement and provide greater reassurance to families and other guests.
