Beautiful cabins by the water

It was a lovely cabin, beautifully situated on the water. We stayed 2 nights and found it comfortable with adequate facilities. The host was very friendly and helpful.

Great location and cute accommodation, but felt more like camping than a hotel.

The location is great and the rorbu we got was very cute and cosy and also had a small kitchen. We really liked the views from the wooden pier in from of the rorbus. The restaurant was closed at the time of our stay (early October is too far outside of their main season I guess), so there was also nobody at the reception. The owners responded quickly to our calls and also helped us to arrange doing laundry there.

We did not get any food or breakfast and there were also no food options nearby. That was okay with us, we cooked by ourselves, but it was a bit annoying that we had to get kitchen essentials like salt and oil for the two days we were staying there - or eat very bland food. The kitchen in the rorbu also only featured the bare essentials you need for cooking, but that was no surprise. As the reception was closed during our stay, we had to call the owner for every question/need and arrange meeting times with them, e.g. for checking in and doing laundry. We did not use the sauna, as arranging to do so seemed too much of a hassle for us in these circumstances. Lastly, the rorbu did not have enough lamps to fully light it up during the night and reading a book in the evenings was difficult. We did not mind that too much, as we were lucky and saw strong northern lights during our stay (without needing to out! There is minimal light pollution).

Beautiful rorbu to escape to in Ballstad Norway

Beautiful rorbu location on the marina. Quiet, and removed from city life. Cozy tastefully decorated dining room and living room areas at check in.

Loved this darling rorbu! Hated to leave it after the one night. Was not aware that linens are not provided in the booking, but thankfully, could pay extra for them upon arrival. (Then made up our beds). The host disappeared after we had checked in, but very pleasant young woman at the desk available to answer questions. Nice, warm areas to sit for a glass of wine or later on, a delicious slice of dessert. Breakfast is not provided, but can be purchased. We did not experience this as we checked out on a Sunday AM and the kitchen is not open. Had we stayed longer, a light breakfast could have been had at 10am. We left our keys in the basket adt the front door as the checki in was closed.

Picturesque place

Very cosy old fisherman cabin. Air-conditioning was a welcome bonus as the weather was hot. It's located in a lovely and picturesque spot in Ballstad.

The cabin could have had a TV. Restaurant was fully booked the night when we stayed, so we did not manage to try it out. Breakfast (charged separately) was a bit on the pricy side considering what it contained.

The perfect place for a base to travel around Lofoten and enjoy a revitalising sauna.

We like everything. The couple who run the hotel is absolutely lovely. The room was perfect and with a marvelous view of the bay. The sauna was amazing, and the dinner at the restaurant was also perfect. Good food, good presentation, good wine, and after dinner, we enjoy a traditional drink at the bar. Norway is an expensive country, but the quality of the services here makes it feel we paid a great price for such a good quality service.

The living room/kitchen area was comfortable. The location was perfect because we saw the Northern Lights from the room. The bedroom and bed were a bit basic.

Location was lovely and quirt. We were offered an upgrade on arrival for a small fee to a bigger hut with a full kitchen and it was well worth it. Spacious hut, spotless, powerful shower sign lots of hot water and wifi worked well. It was so quiet and peaceful. Staff helped with where to eat on Sunday and where to see the midnight sun. Ate in restaurant on Monday night and it was fabulous food. Would come back!

The position was nice

We actually booked a full studio with kitchen and large window overlooking the harbour, at the check in we’ve been told our booking was for a room with no kitchen nor view…the room we’ve been given was really small, the bathroom even smaller like a camper one…we wrote Booking.com and are still waiting an answer

Location was really good. Staffs were really friendly, cool interior and big property. Nice clean bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen. Air Condition worked really good.

They should mention during the booking that you need to buy bedding at the counter ( approx. 100 nok/ bedding) and is not included in the booking fees. Our house was the first from so the area outside the Pier smelled really bad, maybe the water level was really low and had no internet connection at all. There are two floors in the house, we were in the ground floor and could hear the footsteps(really loud) from the guests above. Finally, kitchen didnt have exhaust fan.

For us it came as a surprise that bed sheets and towels were not included, we had to pay extra for them. The room was not soundproof so you could here the neighbours.

Too noisy. There’s a stair right above the kitchen that belongs to the neighboring hotel room. There’s people walking up and down all the time which makes a lot of noises. Sound proof was not good enough.

the rooms abobe the restaurant are very noisy. Ou can hear everything from the other rooms, the entrance and outside. As soon its a little bit windy, you can hear it in the room. Room 202 has a very bad location. The light outside the building is exactly above the rooms window, and that light is turnd on the whole night. The solution to make the room darker is not suitable enough.

where do I start? i was greeted with a grunt and ‘I will show you to your room’. ‘What time does the restaurant open?’ was my first question. ‘No restaurant’. He opened the door to the smallest room I have ever seen. If I stood at the toilet my head hit the roof. I am 1.75m. What they have done is taken the old fishermans huts and crammed rooms in. The fridge didn’t work. There was a light on the table with a cheap candle. Other people arrived at 6:00pm and the reception was closed !!!. I left in the morning at 8:00am and the reception was closed. i paid 135euros for this poor excuse gor a property and will definitely review it on google to warn others if its shortcomings

Location was great! Restaurant had lovely atmosphere, but not all the food was great.

The bathroom was apalling, very old, very small and not suitable for a nice shower. The headroom in the upstairs bedroom/loft was terrible, knocked my head when kneeling!!
