Perfect Homestay

Exceptional homestay with lovely owners. The room was extremely clean with a fridge, desk, water dispenser, nice terrace, a few books to read and good AC. The bathroom was spacious and so clean also. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful - we even got to try some Indonesian sweet snacks that were lovely. The location is fantastic and is only a short walk away from the rice terrace trek. The hosts were able to pick us up from Padangbai port and drop us to our next destination near Ubud (for a fee). They were so helpful and always quick to reply on WhatsApp. They can also help you book any other activities you wish to do in Sidemen - we did the silver class with one of their family members that was such a great experience. If you want a peaceful stay where you’re treated like family then you must stay here! :)

Best homestay in Bali

By far the best homestay I've had in Bali. The owner was so kind and warm, you feel immediately at ease and at home when checking in. I had come from a bad accommodation and this was exactly what I needed to feel better as a solo female traveler. This homestay was very clean, nice decorative touches and little notes that go a long way. For example - fresh fruit in the room, good instant coffee (usually they only have packets that are very sweet) and very nice renovated bathroom. I told the owner that I was leaving the next morning at 6am so I wouldn't need the complimentary breakfast but she woke up early to send me off with a breakfast box! Extremely thoughtful. Location is in the town centre but off a very quiet street that faces the rice fields. Only accessible by walking or motorbike from main street. Highly recommend this place for a lovely homestay in Sidemen.

Gorgeous local homestay - a must!

This place is an absolute gem! It is so, so clean, comfortable and cosy. Cleanliness is such a huge must for me and the room was cleaned to a great standard. The Balinese family who run it are so kind and sweet. It feels very authentic to Bali. You can tell they’ve taken such care in their business and thought of all the small details to make their guests comfortable. Staying here you’re also supporting a local family business which I think is so important. The garden is beautiful, we loved being able to spot different butterflies. They also gave us some traditional Balinese cakes on our last day which was so kind. Next time we are in Sideman, we’d love to come back and stay. I highly, highly recommend booking your accommodation here if you are visiting the area.

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful environment.

The Buntera Homestay is a beautiful place to stay. There are only two rooms, and they're set within a lush environment. The owners/hosts are fantastic and bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with fantastic and included a generously proportioned fruit salad.

I couldn't fault this homestay. The rooms are clean and well maintained, plus inwithin a decent proximity to the township.

The best place in Sidemen❤️

Honestly one of our best stays in 2 months travelling. It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The garden is beautiful. The owners are a local married couple, the wife welcomed us with a beautiful smile, was always laughing, giving us good vibe. The husband helped us to get transfer from the harbour, gave us a tour, helped in any of our issues. The breakfast was delicious. It was the best choice to book this place. We loved Sidemen as well, we were sad to leave.

Friendly and helpful owners. They booked a cooking class for me and gave me a lift to a restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful. Large room and very clean with a water bottle and fridge.

This home stay was the perfect Bali retreat

The room was very, clean, comfortable and located in a quiet location at the back of the family home. Komang and his wife were very welcoming and full of helpful ideas and advice. I was made to feel at home and welcome to do as much or as little as I wanted to do. I really enjoyed riding the scooter they organised for me. The 2 rooms are located at the back of their house, surrounded by a small garden and are very peaceful. There are plenty of restaurants and local Warung’s nearby with all the money going to local families. The location has a real village / community feel, but there many places to visit nearby.

Lovely and helpful family with a neat and tidy homestay!

Buntera homestay is truly ine of the best homestays I've been in on my 2 month trip through Indonesia. What an awesome, kind and sweet family! They really make you feel at home. The room was so new and neat and it was made that it was tidied up every day! I was met with Nenga's kind smile and welcome. She told me about things to do nearby ander youngest daughter (such a delight! Always singing, talking and happy!) offered me Mangosteen fruit! I did a tour "Siddemen tour" with her husband Komang. Also a very kind man! I've told them both I'm half Indonesian, that I really wanted to know more about the culture and wanted to learn Bahasa Indonesia. On the tour Komang taught me some more Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Bali. We went to the beautiful sawa's, the water fall (where I could explore for some time for myself), then to the Arak (local liquor) factory where I tried a little myself. Once there Komang explained how the house of the owner was build and why it was build that way. We spoke more about the culture and I was so curious and Komang could explain everything perfectly to me, I truly learned so much! After that we went to a weaving factory and then back to the home stay. I told Komang that I wanted to do a wood-workshop and he said his family owned one so I could do that with them if I wanted. The next day I did just that together with a silverworkshop that was also from an uncle. Everyone in this family was genuinely so kind, humble and eager to teach me anything. Relaxing break

Buntera Homestay is in a great location, within easy walking distance of the rice paddy walks and restaurants and warungs. The room has air conditioning and a fridge, and is a good size and with a nice balcony. A nice breakfast is included. The cleanliness really is exceptional. Next time we are in Sidemen we will stay here again.

The perfect homestay for exploring Sideman

The bedroom and bathroom were immaculate! Super clean, well decorated, lovely bathroom, great shower, good mosquito net around the bed. I loved being able to eat breakfast on the terrace. The location is quiet but close to everything. A short walk down an alleyway takes you to an area with restaurants and spas, silver classes etc. The hosts are a lovely couple who go out of their way to make sure you are happy.

I only booked 2 nights. There is lots to do in this beautiful and peaceful area of Bali so I needed more time!

Buntera Homestay is a lovely place. Our room was super clean and the hosts are kind and helpful. The bed is comfortable and with the mosquito net creates a cozy, safe place. We had our deepest and most relaxing sleep here while we were in Bali.

I truly loved my stay here with all my heart! Nengah my host was the best part! She was so kind, smily, prepared beautiful breakfasts. Everything was perfect. So clean, comfortable, beautiful garden, so many great little details and so well equipped. So convenient the scooter rental and help with transport arrangements. Great location too! My time in Sidemen was wonderful. I even got to meet her extended family. ☺️

Perfect family stay- great value for money

Lovely little property which was carefully attended to by the staff, who was so lovely and helpful. The 2 rooms were very clean and breakfast was lovely. I would recommend the massage place next door- very relaxing with great views. Good selection of food places within 15/20 min walk.

Loved the area and it has added to our positive experience of travelling in Bali

Nengah was absolutely charming and ready to help at all times with suggestions of things to do. The garden was pretty, she served us great breakfasts and the room was spotless. We had some really lovely walks around the area and through the rice fields and there are plenty of warungs in walking distance.

Aircon not working properly so we couldn’t keep cool,which was difficult. Less importantly, the track to the property was always muddy and slippery.

The owners, Komang and Masi are beautiful people. Komang also picked me up from the airport and drove me straight to Sidemen. At the end of my stay he drove me to Pemuteran. So we had many hours together talking and laughing. They have created a little oasis in Sidemen which is set in a lush garden.

There is a bit of noise from the outdoor bathroom of the neighbours. But that is to be expected when you are located in the local neighbourhood I guess. Komang appreciated that I drew his attention to this.

Everything was absolutely perfect

This was without a doubt the best accommodation experience of my life. It truly felt like home to me (especially since I was working remotely during the day and ended up spending more time at the accommodation than most travelers). There are so many great things about this place: 1. The host was incredibly kind and friendly, and shared a lot with us about daily life in Bali 2. The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, with daily cleaning 3. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious 4. Loveliest stay in beautiful Sidemen

What a wonderful and heartwarming stay in Buntera. Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by Nengah, she explained everything so carefully and made some great suggestions about her aunt Tini’s massage place nearby and a silver class. I even got a refreshing welcome drink. The view from the terrace to the most beautiful garden is amazing and so calming. The room is spacious, cozy and super clean and was also cleaned every day. There’s even a minibar and free drinking water which is amazing. The bathroom is spotless. The breakfast was so delicious with many different options (pancakes, omelette, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea). The location was perfect in my opinion, really calm and also everything was accessible by foot. Komang was also so nice and super helpful, he had a lot of nice recommendations what to do around Sidemen, he arranged a day trip and also a ride to Sanur at the end of my stay with a good price. I also took a silver class by his uncle Adi which was really nice. I will definitely be back to Sidemen next time in Bali and definitely come back to the best homestay I’ve been, Buntera. Thank you Komang and Nengah for everything.

Highly recommended

It is a wonderful and calm location. The garden is beautiful, the breakfast was delicious. Everything was clean and I had a really good time with the hosts. They are so friendly - they invited me to a ceremony and I learned so much about the Balinese culture. I'm very grateful for this experience. I can highly recommend them. A beautiful, quiet hideaway with the nicest hosts

The nicest, honest and helpful owners I met on my whole trip. Their kindness is so heartwarming. My host even offered me to drive to Ubud on Nyepi, despite it being their biggest holiday. I was in trouble as no one would drive me but we went early morning for an hour drive, I was so grateful for his help. I only stayed for one night but I felt so at home. The patio with a view to the groomed garden is a dream in the morning. It’s quiet and you can only hear sounds of nature at night. I wish I stayed longer to explore Sidemen!

The husband and wife team who run this homestay are absolutely wonderful: so friendly and helpful, nothing is a problem for them. Instead, they go our of their way to anticipate what the guest might need or want and take steps to provide that extra little more. In all my years of travelling, I have rarely met people who are more welcoming, helpful and sincere in their service. I hope to return and stay again in the future

The room is wide, clean, beautiful and welcoming with fresh seasonal fruits and lovely decorations. The garden in front is so lovely and I could seat there for hours, meditation, reading, working.

Spotlessly clean and beautifully presented new villa overlooking a lush garden.

Komang and his equally charming wife are great hosts and, quite rightly, proud of their beautiful new two bedroom villa. Both rooms have sliding glass double doors to a small terrace overlooking a lush garden of fruit and other trees. A very good breakfast is served on the terrace each morning. Access to the town was fairly easy once we discovered a number of shortcuts.

Being new, it was a bit tricky to find. Google Maps does not yet recognise it (use Dika Homestay, next door, to find it). Access is along a narrow, often muddy path so luggage could not be wheeled. Humidity was very high despite the elevation so nights could be uncomfortable with fan only. There was no fridge. There were shelves but no wardrobe or other hanging space either in the bedroom or the bathroom.

Tutto meravigliosamente perfetto. Impeccabile pulizia , asciugamani e lenzuola fresche di bucato . Colazione deliziosa a scelta immersa in uno splendido giardino rilassante. L’endroit est magnifique, paisible et parfaitement entretenu. La famille qui gère ce lieu est d’une gentillesse remarquable, toujours attentionnée et discrète. Super schöne Unterkunft mit toller Vegetation vor der Terrasse. Die Unterkunft war super sauber, Bettwäsche wurde sogar täglich gewechselt. Das Frühstück war super toll- schöne Auswahl und reichhaltig. Die Besitzer sind unheimlich liebe Menschen, die alles tun um den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Die Besitzerin hat mir sogar einen Sarong ausgeliehen um an einer Zeremonie teilnehmen zu können. Klasse Unterkunft zu einem super Preis
