I was in room 5 and had a great stay. The room was huge with everything I needed for an overnight work visit. It was warm and cosy with a lovely spacious bathroom and nice shower. I had no difficulty securing a parking space

Very clean and lovely to have 2 separate and spacious rooms. Great to have a fridge also. Only slight downside was lack of shelf in bathroom and limited space to put toiletries etc. Would certainly stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights mid-week, and had a lovely time. Latimer House was easy to find, with parking available on site and well located, communication ahead before arrival was helpful and responed quickly to a question I had. The room was bigger than expected, modern, clean and quiet, check in was simple with clear instructions for the digital locks. We will be returning in the future.

Lovely stay and i would highly recommend it. Clean, quiet, and nice pillows. The only problem we had was when I booked I booked with parking knowing we would have a car. There is only 4 parking spaces so if you come in after 5 or maybe earlier you will be parking on the side streets (no parking in front) which wasn't the best for us as we are seniors and carrying luggage up and down hill can be challenging.

A lovely Easter weekend stay at Latimer House We had a fantastic stay at Latimer House in Bowness. The location is ideal—just a short walk from the town centre, which made it easy to explore the area without needing the car. Our room was clean, comfortable, and felt like a real home away from home. We visited over the Easter weekend and were delighted to find Easter-themed truffles waiting for us on arrival—a thoughtful and charming touch that made the stay feel extra special. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a cosy base in Bowness with great access to everything the Lakes has to offer.

The room was great. Comfy bed and clean throughout. I was disappointed with the parking situation. I was under the impression there’d be parking, and there is, but it’s very limited. Only 4 spaces and they have 7 rooms.

The room was very clean and spacious. We stayed for two nights — it was quite cold the first night, but the staff were very responsive. After we let them know, they brought us an additional heater the next day. Great service!

This is our 3rd stay at Latimer House, and it’s perfect for us. The location is good and the rooms are big enough. The only problem we encountered this stay was the radiator wouldn’t heat up fully so of a morning the room was very cold, the radiator probably just needs bleeding but in 3 years we have stayed here that’s the first problem we’ve ever had. The bed as always was very comfy and the tv allows you to log into your Netflix and Amazon prime account which is nice. There is no check in procedure here which we love, you get sent your room number and entrance codes an hour or so before check in time and you just let yourself in there’s no waiting in queues to go through check in. We will 100% be back again.

Quick overnight stay. Handy code access for quick and effortless check in which we like. Room nice. Terrible car parking. Very limited space so struggled and was last thing we wanted after long driving. Otherwise would be perfect.

Not staffed, you receive a code for entry on day of arrival, all worked great. The room was clean, decorated nicely, had a huge bathroom with large shower and free toiletries. Internet was fast and reliable. It was very quiet. The heart chocolates on the pillows (it was Valentines the day after our stay) were a cute touch.

Positives: Room was clean and tidy and very spacious. Well located in Bowness, only a short walk to bars/restaurants and the lake. Plenty of free parking in the overflow carpark too. Check in was easy, no issues with codes getting in etc. Negatives: Mattress was quite uncomfortable, could feel a lot of springs when moving around, although bedding was cosy enough. Room was not sound proof, so heard every noise from other guests, which unfortunately were very noisy in the middle of the night - we were located on the ground floor so may have been different upstairs with no one above us banging about and shouting. Bathroom was clean, but very cold and a bit tired. Overall our stay was okay. The guesthouse was considerably cheaper than other b&bs, so probably provides a good base for an evening, but wouldn’t be inclined to stop for multiple nights again.

Great position. Very nice spacious room nice quality and outside area. Only problem was the room wasn’t sound proof because we was next to the staff room which had a washing machine or dryer going at 10 o’clock at night. Would stay again though.

Unusual cottage. No kitchenette. Not allowed food in the cottage. No WiFi even though the host put the password in the book and via text message. Tv channels are limited. Spa bath is a nice touch but not enough hot water to fill it. Shower was nice once the hot water was restored in the morning… Sofa was so worn it had zero padding. Broken/cracked mirrored drawers and bedside table so posing sharp cut risk to people staying. Bed was comfy enough which was something. Wouldn’t come back.

Lovely property spotlessly clean within walking distance to shops, restaurants & bars. Room very welcoming. Only issues we found the room too hot & the mattress on the bed was thin & uncomfortable. Would give 5 stars but unfortunately did not sleep well shame as the room & property was so clean & decor was lovely.

Property was in a good location not far to walk up to Windermere or down to bars and restaurants, small amount of parking. Stayed in the coach house. Check in was good. Cleanliness of banister there was settled dust, cracks in the cabinets. TV quality wasn’t great. Bathroom shower was good. Heating wasn’t an issue at all, warm in November. overall was a good stay. On the last night we got back late and car park isn’t lit very well my partner fell walking from the coach house to the car, there is a big drop which should be lit where it slopes down next to the garages, which did dampen the stay. Takeaway policy seems excessive after being out walking all day and booking that sort of place you would expect to be able to relax in the space of you wanted too.

All in all the stay was fine the location was great and we had parking included, just a few little niggles, we had no tea bags on our tea tray, only one bath sheet was provided so my husband had to use hand towels to have a shower and it was a little noisy when people were coming in the building and going to their rooms

We stayed in the double room for one night. Hotel was immaculate, parking was great, furniture in the room was lovely, shower room spotless. The location was a 5 minute walk from the lake, bars and restaurants. Although no host is on site, the hotel is extremely secure. We will defiantly stay again. Thankyou so much for a fabulous stay.

OK stay. Bathroom looked good but there were no hooks or towel rail so nowhere to put towel near the shower. The electric mirror was completely useless to anyone of my height - 5ft 3ins - as it was hung too high. Heating was very limited, late afternoon only, so cold in the morning. No control over ventilation. Woken by front door banging late at night & middle of the night.

Beautiful property in a really ideal location. Great as a base camp if you’re in the Lake District for walks etc. Only thing we’d change is not being allowed take aways in the room, we understand why but it made us eat out for all meals which isn’t ideal for a budget break. But as I said above, location is ideal and offers lots of choice for restaurants and cafes etc. No complaints about the property and would definitely return!

Perfect little private get away pretty much in the middle of town. Small premium over other rooms available at Latimer house which have you added privacy and plenty of room for two to enjoy 3 nights away.
