Burnthwaite Farm B&B

We received a wonderfully warm welcome to the world of Burnthwaite Farm, which seems to have a following all of its own! The hosts were so helpful and friendly. The breakfasts and packed lunch were delicious. The location is just beautiful - a real hill farm, complete with beamed ceilings, dry stone walls and farm dogs, set amongst rolling, mist shrouded mountains above the deep, dark and mysterious lake. Breath-taking. Very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and just a half mile walk to the path up Scafell Pike and to the all-important local pub! We loved it!

It was right in the heart of the mountain. The views were unbelievable and the host was absolutely amazing couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Traditional, rural, B&B with exceptional location and welcome, very pup friendly. Shared bathroom/toilets were spotless. Lovely breakfast with plenty of options. Packed lunches were a big hit.

Would love to stay longer!

So hospitable. We arrived late, wet through. Georgina took all our wet clothes and boots, including backpacks and contents and had them all dried out by breakfast. Hot bath with bubbles and shampoo provided, followed by complimentary hot choc and biscuits by the fire in the cosy lounge. Excellent breakfast, comfy bed. Would definitely return.
