Property is nicely located and, if you take a room with the mountain view, it’s really beautiful. Majority of the staff at the reception desk is very friendly and ready to help. Breakfast is also very good and the food is of good wuakity. Juices are wonderfull too. We loved one of our dinner experiences, since the food, presentation and portions were all very just amazing. Most waiters are friendly and helpful, and do anything they can to make you stay feel pleasant. The gym is somewhat basic, but since not many people use it I guess it’s fine. The pool is not too big, but again, in winter not that many people come so if you like, you mostly will find it empty (the water could be little warmer in my opinion). At the end, the hotel is very stylish and that must be taken into account, as it makes it very comfortable and luxurious.

Although breakfast is nice, it can get little boring after a few days since only one dish changes one day to another. Also, there was a waiter at the dinner that was rather uninterested at us, but to other tables that were Austrian guests he was very very friendly and was explaining them dishes, wines and was very talkative (none of which was to us). Room service leaves the door open after they clean up, which is weird, but I guess safe in case when there’re two doors between the hallway and the room. Pillows were extremely soft in my opinion. Even though this can be very opinionated, I think they should have other pillows to provide in case these do not suite you.

Beautiful Hotel, but Major Operational and Security Issues

I returned to this hotel after a previous stay that already raised concerns regarding billing accuracy and data security. Unfortunately, this visit confirmed that the operational standards do not match the hotel’s image. Although we booked our preferred room months in advance, we were initially placed elsewhere and only later moved after insisting. While some staff members were excellent, especially at the bar and spa, several serious issues overshadowed our stay. The spa and pool areas are overcrowded, and the hygiene in the pool restroom was unacceptable, with wet floors, toilet paper on the ground, and even visible fecal traces. For a hotel of this category, this should never, never happen. More concerning was a major security breach: we returned to our room to find the terrace door left wide open and the safe open. Whether accidental or not, it means the room was left unsecured while we were away, which is extremely alarming. This alone would prevent me from recommending the property. Additionally, restaurant service during dinner was unusually slow, with long waits between courses and noticeable delays as the evening progressed. The hotel is beautifully designed, and some employees truly care (I will not mention their names, but I hope that the General Hotel Manager, T.H., will greet them and recognize their hard work ), but the recurring operational failures, hygiene issues, and especially the security breach leave a very bitter impression. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here until these problems are taken seriously and corrected.

Fabulous all around.

The hotel has wonderful staff, at reception in the restaurant, everyone we met really. Friendly, but never subservient. They enjoyed being there and helping out and helping and serving us. There are breathtaking views from the balconies of the restaurant and our room. It is also a great location from which to walk or go for a short drive to a place to walk.

I would have enjoyed a comfortable couch in the room. the one that was there was pretty, stylish, and not comfortable for sitting on.

Designer hotel with an amazing view

Super cool designer hotel. Room with the valley view was amazing. Breakfast buffet was great with lots of variety. Sauna was lovely and modern.

Only downside is that the room didn’t have a mini fridge and the pool was quite cold!

Perfect spa getaway

Had an amazing weekend stay - the mountain view was stunning and the facilities were spotless. Loved the gym and sauna, everything was really well maintained. The breakfast had a great variety and the à la carte dinner was even better. What stood out most was the staff (both at the restaurant and the reception) - super kind, helpful, and attentive. Would definitely come back.

Amazing design hotel in the heart of the mountains

The most unbelievable hotel I've stayed at!! We were blown away with the beautiful design, views, and amenities at The Comodo. We especially loved the restaurant and the extra such as yoga classes, movie nights, and sauna/pool. You can take a €15-20 10-minute taxi from the Bad Gastein train station or walk along a beautiful walking path for about 30 minutes. So many things to do around the hotel in every season!

Truly incredible and a gem.

What a gem! The location is excellent, being a bit out of the town and right where some nice hiking routes start. Gives you the best view down on the town and during breakfast/dinner. The spa area is great and very inviting, always spot on clean. In addition there is a movie theatre (which you can also reserve for a night when there’s no movie showing) and a co-working area (I did not see the latter since I was there to relax only). The rooms (mine at least) are spacious and beautiful. Breakfast was excellent and an invitation to enjoy a long breakfast reading the paper - it’s from 7am til 11am, and you can sit and enjoy the breakfast buffet and coffee after coffee for as long as you wish. Dinner is also high quality, and worth the price. I was there solo for 6 nights and relaxation while being exhausted and I couldn’t have chosen a better place and accommodation.

The room did not have a kettle, but you can always ask for one (bring your hot water bottle!). In general whenever you are missing something just talk to the reception - they are extremely helpful and really go out of their way to make your stay perfect.

Exceptional experience, wonderful staff

The overall experience at Comodo was exceptional; from the facilities, the design of the hotel itself to the smallest detail, the attention to detail and the little gestures. A particular callout to the personnel at Comodo - everyone, from the people at the reception, the bar, to the people at the restaurant, was SO AMAZING, polite, friendly, and professional. This really made a difference in the whole experience. The food was super fresh and mostly organic. Really enjoyed everything.

I can't think of anything better. Quiet, peaceful and very beautiful.

A fantastic hotel with an excellent breakfast of fresh juices, ginger shots, very tasty bread and coffee. Very stylish swimming pool and reception area. And a delightful spa. Nearby, nature trails in various directions and a great opportunity to rent a bike directly at the hotel. I can't think of anything better. Quiet, peaceful and very beautiful.

A better-than-stunning hotel that has it all and must be experienced

I could write an essay about the cōmodo and the way it exceeded my already pretty high expectations — I discovered it on Instagram last year before it opened, and decided to spend a few days in Austria this summer basically just to go there. First impressions go a long way, and on arrival the exceptionally friendly staff made us feel immediately welcome. These people really will accommodate any request you have, they're so good at their jobs. Special shoutout to the man on the reception desk (from Madrid) and the blonde lady working the breakfast shit who were really wonderful and so genuinely friendly. But let's rewind — the cōmodo is located up a steep hill quite a way from the train station (25-30 minutes walk), so if not arriving by car you might want to book a taxi. We walked and arrived pretty sweaty. But the upshot of that is that the views are *incredible*. If you have a room with a valley view like ours, you literally have a 180 panorama from your balcony and it's truly breathtaking, especially in the morning when the clouds roll over the Alps, and at night with the town below lit up. The vista alone is priceless. I was drawn to the cōmodo for its design aesthetic, which recreates plush 1970s living spaces with vintage sofas and warm mood lighting in the bar and reception. The attention to detail is pretty incredible. It's a great space to relax in. The restaurant is chic too, and the rooms really are fabulous, right down to the custom rugs (replicating the mountain scapes of Bad Gastein) and the green-tiled en-suites. The best compliment I can give it is that, having stayed in quite a few Alpine hotels this summer and last, the cōmodo is the only one in which I could happily spend an entire day without leaving. There's nothing clinical about it, relaxing there is effortless, the pool, gym and sauna have been constructed to the highest quality, the breakfast is sensational, the sundeck a seductive way to kill an afternoon.

Truly I didn't dislike anything at all. I heard from another guest that the hotel was quite understaffed, and the staff team was definitely slim but they kept everything running super smoothly throughout. The dinner menu is a bit slim at the minute with few vegetarian/vegan options, so maybe there's room for improvement there. But the staff were really accommodating in making a vegetarian pasta dish specifically for us, and the dinner prices are surprisingly reasonable.

Cool and modern place in the mountains. Great for summer and winter.

Breakfast was buffet style and additionally you can order egg dishes from the kitchen. The food is of a high standard, locally sourced. The dinner menu was small but excellent. They have a good winelist. Fantastic view into the valley. Great sauna, pool and sundeck.

Service is very mixed, clearly the restaurant team needs a lot more training. Everyone is very friendly and trying hard but not always succeeding. The food and beverage manager was excellent and very professional. The hotel just opened and need some finetuning. The outside could be more inviting, the rooms are nice but quite small.

Beautiful new design hotel

New and beautiful design hotel. Great decoration. Room is very comfortable and the Bluetooth speaker in the room very much appreciated. The views are great and the food very delicious. Good ambiance.

Sauna can only be used between 4-7pm. Very little amount of time for the space and amount of guests the hotel can accommodate. Maybe an idea to open it also in the morning so the guests who only come for the spa can also enjoy it while isn’t so busy. Pool is open all day however after everyone returned from skiing again to busy and loud. Not really nice that housekeeping just open the door from my room without even knocking exactly the moment I was changing. I just said No and door closed immediately. I booked all in via Booking however at check out dinner got again charged. Once we noticed that and told it at the reception we got what we had paid extra back.

Comfy oasis with spectacular view

This is nicely renovated hotel on the hill which is very cosy. Rooms have a spectacular view on the town and the valley. Beds are comfortable and duvets very soft and warm. There are two saunas and the pool, gym, yoga room and working/office room with small library! Breakfast has decent offer of produce, some of them local (nice smelly cheese!). It combines self service, and service for coffee and eggs. There is big storage room for skies which is approachable by car. We appreciateed electric charger for electric cars - very simple use, no fuss, just plug in plug out and go! The personnel is kind, but the most helpful is nice blond lady at the reception desk who had good advice for skiers and non skiers. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope will be able to come back again.

Our experience was spoiled with unpleasant smell in the hall at the third floor and we didn't see any effort to camouflage it before they managed to find rhe source of it. Also we have suggestions for electric kettle in the rooms, warmer water in the pool, vanity set in the bathroom (soaps, shampoo and body milk are nice!). Dinner needs to be served much faster since the menu is not too wide, and the guests are very hungry after skiing!

- bemühtes, freundliches Personal - große Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet - tolle Lage mit Blick über Bad Gastein

- Sauberkeit lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig (fleckiger Teppich, Haare im Badezimmer, schmutziger Couchtisch)! - keine Minibar im Zimmer - keine Kaffeemaschine und kein Wasserkocher im Zimmer (sollte bei 390 Euro die Nacht und für ein 4*Sterne Hotel selbstverständlich sein!)
