Absolutely Terrifying

Absolutely Terrifying – Unsafe, Unresponsive, and No Refund. We booked this apartment expecting a safe and comfortable stay, but what we experienced was an absolute nightmare. Just 15 minutes after arriving, someone started knocking on our door, and when we opened it, there was no one there. That same night, the knocking continued repeatedly, and the following night, it happened again, leaving us in a constant state of fear. We could not sleep the first night. We immediately wrote to the property asking for an urgent solution, but they did absolutely nothing to address the problem or protect our safety. This was not an isolated incident. Every time we shouted for the person to leave us alone, they would knock again, ignoring our pleas and escalating our terror. The door lock was broken, making it impossible to secure the apartment properly, and the property offered no assistance whatsoever. The fear was so intense that we were forced to block the door with the sofa just to feel even minimally safe. By the second night, the situation became unbearable. We had no choice but to abandon the apartment in the middle of the night and book alternative accommodation, paying again for a hotel we had not planned for, simply to ensure our safety. Despite this traumatic experience and the fact that we could not enjoy the accommodation we paid for, the property has refused to refund us. This is not just terrible service—it is a complete failure to provide even the most basic safety standards. We strongly warn all future guests: do not stay here unless you want to risk your safety, peace of mind, and money. We have reviewed other guest reviews and seen that similar issues have occurred to other visitors, although perhaps not to such an extreme extent. This suggests a pattern of safety and security problems that the property has failed to address.

Terrible
Location was good.
One of THE WORST bookings I've ever made. My first night, the lock to the door stopped working and we could not get into the apartment. Mind you, it was 10PM, freezing cold and raining. We called the team for support and were told many methods to try and get in, including trying to find hidden lock boxes that did not exist on the property. We waited outside in the rain for over 1 hour until someone finally came to help. The person who came to help did not know what he was doing AT ALL. We waited another 1 hour outside while he fidgeted with the door. He finally gave up and told us he doesn't know what to do. He said that we will have to find a place to stay that night on our own and call again in the morning. We then walked into different hotels in the area trying to find a room for the night. The same guy then called us back and told us your team can provide us another room for the night in a hotel 5 minutes away. It was not 5 minutes away but a 25 minute walk. We stayed in a room that was worse than what we originally booked. And we were told that by 8 in the morning, their team would have fixed the door and provide a ride back to the apartment. I was told this because I had made it clear that I needed to work that morning at 8:30AM and all my things were locked inside the apartment. When we woke up, we went down to ask and we were told that they could not get in touch with their OWN TEAM. And once again, I would have to call to fix the issue. I called once again and had to explain the whole situation to a new person. Finally, I was told someone would be sent to inspect the door lock. When we arrived back at the apartment, a man was there trying to fix the door but failed. He let us know that he cannot open the door because of some sort of problem with your lock system. We could not get into the apartment and had no access to our things the whole day. Terrible customer service.

Great location and quite comfortable, unfortunately a bit noisy.
Overall ideal location, next to everything, from shops, pubs, bus and metro stops, parks... We were staying on the first floor, and we didn't hear noise from the apartment upstairs or the restaurant downstairs. It was furnished with all you could need to cook, do your laundry (except for a drying rack though but there's a towel rack in the bathroom), have a good time and relax.
While you don't get noise from your neighbors up and down, you get a lot of noise from the street down the apartment. From the building being renovated close to the apartment, to the pubs emptying dozens of bottles at a time several time a day, you hear it all. We were actually given sets of earplugs when we arrived. The windows are really thin and, with the noises, also let cold air enter the apartment. It is unfortunate as with these windows replaced, it would definitely greatly improve the place. Huge annoyance that maybe the owners could fix: 50% of the time, cars were parked in front of the main door, at some point blocking the entry if you had a big luggage to carry. Maybe a "no parking anytime" sign would help. Also, the apartment we got was apparently accessible for people with disabilities, which is great, but the sink in the bathroom for example was so so low, quite uncomfortable if you have to bend every time you use it for a week.

Lovely apartment, stressful deposit experience.
• The location was excellent. We didn’t need to use public transport at all, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. • The apartment was well equipped! I especially appreciated the smart TV with Netflix, the large bathroom, and the spacious closet (I could fit all my clothes and even store large luggage). :)))) • Tastefully decorated.
• Be aware of an additional safety deposit outside of Booking.com. You either need to pay the “Damage Waiver” of £33.17 or a “Safety Deposit” of £250. You must choose one otherwise, you won’t receive the check-in information. I chose the “Safety Deposit,” and it ended up being a very inconvenient and stressful experience for me. After charging the £250 safety deposit, I saw in my bank account that they tried to charge me again one day before leaving, and then again on the day I was leaving (fortunately, it was blocked as an unauthorized payment). On the day of checkout, I could not access the checkout information in their JOIVY system, and after noticing those additional charge attempts, it caused me a lot of stress. Lastly, I did not receive my “Safety Deposit” back on time. First they claimed I would get it within 2 days after checkout. But I received it only after multiple messages, continuous waiting, and finally 16 days after checkout. Unfortunately, by that time I was already out of the UK, so now I have the refunded money in a currency I can’t spend anymore. • Be aware of narrow stairs and no elevator — not a big issue for me. • Noise from the street — the street is moderately busy with restaurants and bars, and every night there would be some random person shouting things. But it was the Halloween season, so I guess it added to the spookiness. Not a big issue. • Our apartment had a broken wooden floorboard (see picture). Not a huge issue. • Getting there was a little hassle — it is not “Rose Street” but “Rose Street South Lane,” so we tried to enter through the wrong door. We were not the only ones confused; we met another couple there at the same time, equally confused. “Rose Street South Lane” is a tiny, more hidden street with some trash bins. • Could be slightly cleaner. There was a little trash in the closet. The pillows shed feathers, but nothing too bad. Still 8/10 for cleanliness. 6/10 overall. :)

the geogrphic location is great near everything although the nearness is a ribish section of the street, with even cigattets bottles and dirty objects, that is very uncomfortable and bad image for the appartment
found vertuo coffee maker dirty from before guests, with capsules used (picture ). there is something in the nigth table that it is also from before guests(picture ). does not have a microwave. the shower links water to the bathroom floor. I had to clean it every day. to go up with suitcases was a hard job for me.

Facilities were very good, host very responsive to questions. Location was great for access to the Old City.
Rigorous check in process, 59 steps to access the apartment which was located down a very dirty alley with burst and overflowing garbage bags from the pub next door.
