I liked all of the rooms and facilities, however I feel it would’ve been nice to have at least one complete private balcony upstairs

A beautiful little property in a very picturesque location. Some reviews mentioned the small kitchen, it is small but it is perfectly adequate for a small family to prepare meals with plenty of space upstairs to eat and relax. Very comfortable beds and the noise from the airplanes didn't bother us at all.
Location is remote so would recommend hiring a car or reserve a decent amount for taxi's. We felt that one of the terraces should be reserved exclusively for the property as it's shared with the adjoining property at all times which felt a little uncomfortable, as a result we didn't use them.

Position, very comfortable, away from the crowds. The planes didn’t disturb us, the farm shop nearby was excellent
The kitchen was poorly equipped. More and better cutlery and crockery would be appreciated and it was difficult to cook a meal with the meagre supply of pans etc

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The venue was fabulous and spacious with the most stunning views.
It was super easy to get to by car and it was situated a 10 minute drive away from a free all day ‘park and ride’ where we easily caught the tram into Edinburgh.
It was also right next to such a scenic walking trail along the river.
The hosts were easy to communicate with and very accommodating which really added to our experience and satisfaction. I would most certainly stay here again!
Nothing, we had a lovely experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Exceptional Stay at The Keep at Craigiehall
Our stay at The Keep at Craigiehall was outstanding from start to finish. The scenery around the property is truly breathtaking — peaceful, picturesque, and the perfect backdrop for a relaxing break. The rooms were immaculate, beautifully presented, and each one came with its own ensuite, which made the whole experience feel even more luxurious and comfortable.
The location itself was stunning, offering both tranquillity and easy access to Edinburgh. It really is the best of both worlds. Daniel and Sofya were fantastic hosts — welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about providing a top-class guest experience.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!
What stood out most about the property was the breathtaking scenery surrounding it — calm, picturesque, and the perfect setting to unwind. We loved that every room had its own ensuite, giving the whole stay a real sense of comfort and luxury. The place was spotless, beautifully finished, and full of charm, blending historic character with modern touches. The location was stunning, offering peace and quiet while still being close to Edinburgh. Daniel and Sofya were warm, welcoming hosts, and their attention to detail made the experience even better.
We genuinely had very little to fault — the only minor point was that the phone signal in the area can be a bit limited at times, but it didn’t affect our stay in any meaningful way.

The property is very well presented, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and found the location to be excellent. Accessing the property was a simple process and I'll definitely look to stay again for our next trip to the area.
Nothing, we enjoyed all aspects with the property, booking and checking in/out process.

The reviews are all excellent so I won't repeat what is already written. I'll just add that I asked for the kitchen to be extra clean for my celiac son, and I very much appreciated the owner's effort to remove bread crumbs and even the toaster for us. He also kindly let us use the newly installed dryer in the garage to get our laundry ready for our next stop. A wonderful place to stay, close enough to the city but far enough to be able to relax.

This was such a beautiful spot in the countryside very close to the park and ride into Edinburgh (park free all day). The house is well-appointed and very spacious and clean. It is very close to the airport but didn’t even notice the planes during the night. This was the best shower we had over our three week stay 😊We didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful scenery, outside the city

Beautiful property! Comfortable, well located if you don’t mind or prefer being out of the city center, spacious, equipped with everything you may need. Great tips from the host (nearby restaurants for example) can be found there. Even the road to the entrance looks magical!
Be aware that there may be other guests next door (this didn’t bother us, but it’s good to know!).
A bit noisy because of the airport, but isolation is good! Opening the windows for fresh air may imply in inviting some spiders or bugs in, so do it carefully if you are scared like me (I would recommend the addition of some nets in a few windows because of that). There was no hair dryer provided at the time of our stay.

The keep was unusual with living room being upstairs and bedrooms and kitchen downstairs. It was quite private and in it's own grounds and the rooms and building were a good size and plenty of space to park my car. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living room and a good size tv and numerous balcony's to sit on if so inclined. Lovely decor and flooring Directions and entry instructions were really good.
It was good to have a table and chairs in the kitchen but it made it a bit cramped so nobody able to sit there whilst someone cooking. The grill pan hadn't been cleaned and the pans felt greasy and were poor quality and the grill took a long time to heat up. Towels were good quality but not so much the bed covers. Plugs by bed but nowhere to do hair and make up with socket handy for dryer/tongs

One of our better stays. Squeaky clean, with all amenities, spacious, comfortable, ample parking, great view from the living room upstairs and the deck. Dan was reasonably good with instructions albeit we had to reach out a couple of times due to some confusion while checking in. However, overall the stay was amazing. From the 1st floor living room we saw the flights going to and fro and enjoyed the view (it was not noisy for clarification).
One problem I guess some of the ppl including us initially face here is that this structure has 2 separate stays- ‘the keep’ (2 bhk) and ‘the temple’ (1 bhk) and the entrance and keys for both are separate. While ‘the keep’ is modern, the temple has a very diff vibe and represents structure of the era bygone. Both are lovely though.
Having a car is must for this stay if one wants to move around to different parts of the city. There’s a ~2 km stretch which is narrow to walk at, though quite lush green, but very difficult to walk at post sunset, since one has to walk on road and street lights etc are not there. We didn’t have a car the first day but had to take one the next day due to this.

Loved this place and the rural setting. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Some lovely walks very close by. We were there 2 full days and had hired a car, first day we drove into Edinburgh...2nd day use the parknride nearby and use tram or train....much better option. Morrisons supermarket nearby. It's also not far from airport so lots of plane watching to be had and they didn't disturb us at all.
There was no hairdryer, but Dan the host was onto it and had one delivered by Amazon that day (Dan, there was also no can opener). Wifi was off when we got there (late) but messaged host and it was sorted. All minor issues, but great that they were sorted quickly

Very secluded and view was amazing from upstairs. Kitchen was adequately stocked.
The unit could use some deep cleaning and repainting. The washing machine/dryer needs a warning label that you can not open it mid cycle. I had to leave clothes behind because it would not open in time to leave for airport.

lovely apartment in a nice location. Great for plane spotting! Nice walks on the doorstep and close enough to Edinburgh to visit daily.
Kitchen was a bit tight with 4 people

The view was amazing, property was spacious, the host was very swift with response and addressing the only issue we had.
Having to describe the location of the house to taxi drivers. Perhaps a sign/arrow at the entrance of the rough gravel road that's says "This way to No 66" (for instance) might be helpful.

We loved our stay at the keep, we spent alot of time in Edinburgh but wished we had more time in the house as it was perfect and very comfortable in a relaxing setting. We would love to visit again

The Keep at Craighie Hall is a hidden gem right outside the city of Edinburgh and close to the airport. Our welcoming and warm hostess, Roxana, stayed late to ensure we would be able to get our keys and to show us the house features. She brought bread, marmalade, honey, butter and milk and fresh raspberry croissants for us as well. Roxana impressed us with her warmth and care and had suggestions for taxis, restaurants and nearby stores. We loved her!
The Keep is beyond gorgeous in a splendid setting on the rise of a hill overlooking the tree line of the River Almond below a rippling expansive field of wheat. There is a cluster of picturesque white cottages in the distance to the right while the airport is to the left. Do not let the fact there is a nearby airport deter you from staying here! Planes were occasionally taking off and flying overhead in early morning until evening but it wasn’t a constant noise factor for us. The view from the upstairs living room was so breathtaking that I wanted to imprint this visual memory forever in my heart. It is a painter’s dream of paradise! There is a lovely upstairs terrace with plants and a beautiful garden surrounds the front and back as well. The tower was built in 1759 and is a masterpiece in stonework. This is only available for two people whereas my adult children and I stayed in the beautiful added on house and had our own lovely downstairs bedrooms with private bathrooms to use. The bathrooms have wonderful modern showers! The house is tastefully decorated. The cozy green kitchen is downstairs as well and has an efficient washer/dryer combo, refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee maker and electric kettle and dishes, pans for use. The most wonderful feature however is the wooden clothes rack suspended over the kitchen table and you feel so at home that you can almost visualize your grandmama clad in her apron cooking something marvelous at the stove, with dish towels drying on the wooden pulley rack above!
The experience at the Keep was total spa-like perfection for my children and me. There are no negatives, only positives! This place is one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland! Five Stars!

Great property, very clean, spotless bathrooms, very well appointed with John Lewis sheets and towels. Beautiful view across open countryside from the upstairs living room. Roxana was great, so attentive and helpful.
Tram from the park and ride to Edinburgh was easy and cheap.
Difficult to get a taxi if you don’t want to drive. Uber wouldn’t accept us to go to a nearby restaurant, maybe because they only wanted fares to the centre of Edinburgh. My advice is to make an arrangement with a local taxi firm.
