Superb location, parking would be difficult in the summer, but the hotel does have a parking facility

Lovely clean room. A lot of stairs to upper floors.

One Night in The Walked City

The location is great if you need to spend a night in the city waiting for the ferry. The room was clean and had everything you need for a short stay. The lady at reception was very pleasant and hospitable- sadly not something you always experience from staff in French hotels.

There was a lot of noise from the street made by people having a beach party, who were drunk and literally screaming outside the window of our third floor room until 2am. So we didn't get a lot of sleep.The stairs up to the room were very steep, but this was okay for two fairly able-bodied individuals for one night. Travellers with any kind of mobility problems would find this property a challenge to navigate.

Great location inside town wall.

The hotel is situated next to the town wall with breakfast opposite. The breakfast was fantastic and fresh, the view from the cafe was amazing. Our room was very clean and comfortable, I will definitely stay there again.

Long weekend visit with friends

Comfy bed and top floor view. The room was clean and the bed made in the morning so considering this is a French 2* I was very pleased. The location was great as close enough to the walk to centre of town in a few minutes but without being ion a noisy area. Easy walk with small bag from the ferry port.

Climbing stairs to the top floor attic room, but thats what you have to do to have a great view. Small shower and bathroom window was broken as only supported by one hinge. Attic rooms would be difficult for a tall person.

Great little hotel near the beach in Intra Muros

Great location near the walls and close to the beach with the tidal pool. The breakfast was in the bar across the road which was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and nice and quiet. Lots of charging points for phones etc in the rooms which was very helpful.

Very basic, lots of stairs, very tired.

This is very basic accommodation within the Old Town. Breakfast (extra) was served in the café over the road and was good and copious.

This is a very tired establishment, little changed (or decorated) since WWII, by the look of things. While we did not encounter serious filth, the towels were thin, no curtains (apart from nets) to give privacy from people walking the ramparts of the town! We had a 'sea view' in the form of a mural painted on the wall opposite our window (shown below)!

A beautiful stay in St. Malo

I had a fabulous four night stay at Hôtel La Porte Saint Pierre inside St. Malo's historic walls. On arrival I was told I had a room with a sea view which I wasn't expecting and it really made my trip as the tides are such a feature of St. Malo! I was lucky enough to see a fireworks display from my room that was happening across the water in Dinard! The hotel is right at the walls with Porte Saint Pierre and access to the beach just around the corner. The team were very welcoming and I enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning with the opportunity to boil my own egg! The hotel is a perfect base from which to explore the walled town and surrounding areas.

My only, very minor, complaint would be that when I stating that my arrival time would mean a late check in, I received an automated message about contacting the hotel on the day of my arrival to get information about late access to the hotel. When I queried this closer to my trip I received that same automated message. As a solo traveller I was nervous about not knowing how to access my accommodation until the day itself. I did ring the hotel a few days in advance of my arrival and very promptly and kindly received the necessary late check in instructions which took away my worry! A bit of unnecessary worry on my part and the staff were very quick to provide me with the information once I made phone contact with them. Couldn't fault anything else about the the hotel or my stay.

We couldn’t have picked a better location for our short stay.

Loved the location! Close to pretty much everything. Staff was very accommodating on check-out day, keeping our luggage until mid afternoon.

Access to shower is a little restricted, my husband struggled a little. We were on the 3rd floor so best to request a room on the first if not so fit or with heavy or large suitcases. Mentioning for awareness only. Wasn’t an issue for us.

Excellent setting with a beautiful view out over the sea. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Weekend visit to St Malo.

A lovely property set at the back of the ramparts. Room was bright clean and a shower room. Access into the hotel is steps only and the breakfast room is across the road from the hotel. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Very friendly owners and you are a made to feel welcome. This is out third stay at this Hotel.

Decent location in old town. Friendly staff.

With no AC, no fan and only one window that opened four inches, the room was really hot. Room Was smaller than small. Shower was so small you couldn’t bend over to wash your feet and toilet room was so small you could barely shut the door. No elevator and the stairs were very narrow to carry bags up/down three floors. The breakfast was at the hotel next door and not worth what they offer. There was no parking in the area during the time we were there. There are much nicer hotels in the same area for around the same price.

Good but please be aware of a lot of narrow stairs and toilet in cupboard.

1) there was no elevator. I was on 3rd floor and it was difficult (and potentially dangerous) with luggage. Stairs were also narrow and steep. Not good for anyone with mobility issues 2) the toilet was in a cupboard next to the bed with no ventilation. Not ideal.

Pleasant, simple hotel in nice quiet backstreet location. Clear and friendly check-in experience. Bicycle parking very close. Short walk to local restaurants and shops.

No view from room...although there was a beautiful painted mural of the seascape on the wall facing our bedroom window! Most (all?) rooms seemed to be accessible only by stairs, which was no problem for us but could be difficult for some people.
