Excellent short break in beautiful St Malo

Perfect location within the walls

It was very warm. No control on the radiator so had to open the windows . Have stayed before so knew there were no tea/coffee making facilities so we took our own kettle etc

Good stay in central st malo

Always a good stay here, reliable, good central location, good breakfast, easy to visit streets of at malo, good wifi, good and busy bar downstairs at front

Once very good filter coffee runs out at breakfast, with large party that’s it. Have to resort back to machine coffee. Prices could be a little lower

Excellent location and comfortable hotel.

The location is excellent, just inside the ramparts and with available parking onsite. It's a large, comfortable hotel with a good cafe and many terrific restaurants nearby. We caught a terrific sunset over the ocean pool.

We have no complaints. We didn't have breakfast, but it looked good.

The bathroom was very good and the bed comfortable

Had to wait more than half an hour to check in. One receptionist was checking in a coach load of German tourists. There was no room in reception to sit and wait. The only option was to go to the bar where we were told we had to have a drink or leave

Booked a comfort double which should have included a private bathroom with bath tub but given room 110 which just had a shower No kettle or tea/coffee facilities No lavatory paper, just tissues from dispenser No staff at breakfast so didn’t realise it was self service

For a good night's sleep, don't take a room at the front

Comfortable. Light eliminating curtains. Hot water. Super view of the Chateau.

My 3rd floor room faced the front, overlooking at least 4 restaurants. The diners chat was at an acceptable level, but it was on closing, when staff packed away the plastic chairs and tables, clattering and dragging them across the flooring and cobbles, that the noise was intolerable. This was 11pm - midnight. Then the next morning one restaurant began setting up tables and chairs just after 6am. Repeating the noise. Then....the roadsweeper lorries did their rounds..twice. I will ask for a room at the rear next time

Short weekend in St Malo

Perfect location for this trip central to all St Malo has to offer. Room location allowed for windows to be open of a night on what was a very hot weekend and was surprisingly quiet given vicinity of the main square and the very busy restaurant and bar area to front of Hotel. Did not have breakfast option on this ocassion.

No tea or coffee facilities provided in the room however bottled water in room on arrival

Perfect hotel to plan the rest of our trip around southern Brittany.

The selection, presentation and quality of the food was excellent.

The lack of parking facilities, but that is a question for the town of St. Malo rather than the hotel.

Wonderful hotel

We couldn't fault anything about this hotel. We've stayed here the past 3 years and have loved it every time. We always spend a little extra to have a castle view room, which is so worth it. The staff have always been very friendly and the hotel is so clean. This will always be our go-to hotel when we stay in the St Malo walled city The bathrooms are exceptionally clean, and my wife is very happy with the great lighting, which apparently is very important lol! We haven't had breakfast during our stay because we always head out early for breakfast, but it is served and looks very good They have a great bar and lots of seating outside

Were we expecting too much?

Location. Reception. Bed was comfortable

It was just a room... Nothing special. We are used to coffee making facilities and bathroom needs.. Shampoo. Conditioner. Soap. Shower cap.... Just an awkward dispenser on the wall of the shower. For the price it lacked basic items we felt. Noisy from the lane below until 3am... Not sure why... And hopefully not the fault of hotel staff.

A one night stay in St Malo to end our holiday in Brittany - family visit with 3 children.

fantastic location - at the heart of the town and easily accessible by public transportation. Warm welcome from the front desk.

Room size / quality / comfort all poor. Nil AC in a room costing $200 per night and plenty of noise coming from the open windows which were a necessity. Otherwise the quality of the hotel common areas was OK.

The location to the beach was excellent. The bar was well managed and the waiter's were very efficient and friendly. It was clean with a nice modern bathroom.

The bed was uncomfortable the mattress was lumpy. The Pillows are wafer thin. Myself and my wife woke up with back pain. This had a lasting effect on our day. The lighting in the room was all or nothing. Could do with more relaxing lights available.

A disappointing stay in what outwardly appeared to be a well established and appointed hotel

Great location set in the heart of the old walled coastal city of St Malo.

The room was sparsely furnished and lacked air conditioning. The window opened up over a flat roof of A/C vents clearly venting from the kitchen. The breakfast arrangement were shambolic, with diners having to use different rooms with breakfast items not being centrally located. The Coffee machine was broken and the staff seemed indifferent and unmotivated. As a result we terminated our booking and rebooked into another nearby and better appointed hotel.

Fantastic location within the walled city of St Malo. The staff were most helpful and accommodating in securing parking for the 12 bikes our group needed to leave overnight.

There was no air conditioning in the rooms which made it very warm at night.

Very Enjoyable Visit

The hotel couldn't be better located as it's in the centre of St Malo opposite the castle. The room was a reasonable size and the bed comfortable. The staff were very pleasant.

The gap in front of the toilet between the loo and facing wall was miniscule and luckily I'm not tall. It made things very uncomfortable. The only other criticism was the very small and thin bath towel but this appears to be the norm in France ☹️

there was no breakfast included would have to pay 15 euros each as we only have a cup of coffee in the morning and fifteen euros is expensive I feel that there should be tea and coffee facilities in the room but no complaints we took our own kettle and coffee many thanks Paul Helmot.
