Very comfortable and convenient for catching the ferry

Very convenient location within the walls of St Malo. Car access a little tricky owing to narrow streets. However the owner was extremely helpful with advice and directions for parking very close by at a very reasonable price. Very warm reception by owner and very comfortable bed.

Nice place to stay in St Malo for a weekend

Very well located. Near the beach, nice restaurants… even to the train station, as the bus stop is very close. Just 10 mins from the station to the hotel.

Our room was in the 1 floor so it was a bit dark. The bathroom was quite small but functional.

Not enough light. There are several lamps but they do not provide enough light. The atmosphere is romantic but you cannot study.

We arrived very tired but we were welcomed at reception so nicely we pepped up. We were given some good advice re where to eat and walk the wonderful streets of St Malo. This is the place to stay!

Lovely hotel from where to explore Saint Malo.

Great location--quiet, but so close to everything intra-muros. Small rooms but efficiently designed (eg, usb ports and towel warmer) and an elevator. Wonderful orientation provided by proprietor--restaurants, shopping, sightseeing. Breakfast was a great way to taste a variety of local foods--all very high quality and delicious.

Would suggest considering unscented cleaning products to maintain the crisp, modern feel of the hotel.

Beautiful Town, Beautiful Hotel, Caring hospitable Owner, what more could you ask for. Excellent.

Hotel was ideally located in the Old Town centre. The Owner was the staff and so they were meticulous in their care and attention to detail. Room was excellent and so was the different take on the continental style breakfast served to us by the owner each morning. The Host was informative about the town, suggesting walks, Resteraunts, bars etc. All round one of the Best!

Incredible gem in the heart of Saint-Malo

What an incredible find! Three adults travelling after an inn to inn bike trip through the Loire. This spot was exactly what we needed! Auralie graciously greeted us, provided tourist tips & made 2 nights of restaurant reservations on our behalf. This hotel was spotless & smelled fresh with loving care. The breakfast was simple & perfect. Don’t hesitate .. book this & enjoy charming Saint Malo.

Top-notch service and truly pleasant stay

We have had an excellent experience at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, Aurelie was incredibly amiable and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. A lot of information about awesome Saint-Malo, about restaurants to eat well, not tourists traps. The entire property was clean, from the lobby to the rooms, which made our stay even more comfortable. Everything was well-maintained, and the atmosphere felt calm and inviting, music, design of a lobby and the breakfast place was very interesting. Very tasty breakfast with local yogurts, fresh baguettes and other meal as well. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-notch service and a truly pleasant stay.

Staff were very helpful, especially the barman, baggage storage for the day, close to the main railway station with easy transport to the airport and the center of Paris.

Garden beds on the balconies need attention, they detract from the overall feel of the hotel.

Warm hospitality, attention to detail and great location in a historic building

We truly enjoyed the four days we spent at Hotel Le Nautilus. The proprietors are warm, welcoming (multilingual!), attentive and helpful, making you feel right at home and offering great suggestions for where to go in St. Malo. They personally serve a generous French breakfast every day, and it is offered for an extended period, so you don't have to rise at the crack of dawn, unless you want to. The rooms are quiet, spotless, modern and thoughtfully appointed, including with bedside outlets and USB ports. The owners themselves stress before you arrive that the rooms are very small and the hotel doesn't offer sea views, which suited us. Well-located for exploring St. Malo on foot, it is steps away from many good restaurants and we had excellent dinners at a different place every night. I would stay here again.

Outstanding hotel in Saint Malo that will exceed your expectations!

We have been traveling to Europe for 30 years, and this is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed at! The reception we received from the owner was the most personal in any of of our travels. He is the BEST!!! Wait until you sit and are given a local map with the highlights being pointed out to you... and feel as though you are in the presence of a master instructing his students as to "how to feel like a local and know all the secret spots" that are the best. I swear the owner should give classes to CEOs of any organization, not just hotels, as to how to treat your customers! You will be sad when it is time to depart, and will truly hope to return one day. The hotel is a labor of love, as you will experience. Communication before arrival is top notch. There is nothing left to chance, especially your parking options. Reserve the breakfast and you will not be disappointed. Our room and bathroom were in pristine condition, as is the entire hotel. An elevator is available if you have issues with stairs. We were able to leave our luggage in his safe hands, as we arrived in the morning, before our room was ready. Definitely choose Hotel Le Nautilus when visiting Saint Malo! If there was a way to rate this property higher than a 10, I would!

The owners were exceptional! Aurelie went above and beyond by helping us navigate both St. Malo and Paris. She gave us many useful tips for the area. Edward helped us to communicate with out rental car agency in the area and was also very personable. Can not recommend this property enough!

Wonderful stay

Beautiful, tastefully decorated hotel in an excellent location within Intra Muros, perfect for exploring St. Malo. We stayed in the small double room which, while very compact, was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast offering included delicious breads and pastries with various jams and cheeses, a great way to start the day. We arrived by car and parked in the nearby Q-Park which was conveniently less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The host, Edward was very helpful with tips for the area, including wonderful restaurant suggestions. Would return and recommend without hesitation.

Fabulous!

The owner could not have been more delightful. He was very helpful and welcoming, offering us each something to drink as soon as we arrived, and spent time telling us about Saint Malo and recommended restaurants and things to do. The room was immaculate and clean, and the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The owner's attention to detail was particularly noticeable. Lively breakfast! The hotel is in a great location. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful little gem of a hotel and look forward to returning. Tremendous value, too!

Really well located little hotel with a helpful and friendly owner.

Location is excellent and the owner is really helpful and lovely. We were given lots of tips (although we knew St Malo well anyway) and offered beach towels and toys for our son to use if we wanted to visit the beach.

The room is quite basic and a little dated in terms of decor (the ones on the lower floors seem to have been very tastefully refurbed) and it was a little cramped places i.e. distance between bed and bathroom door. We got back from dinner and found the room was suddenly very hot but opening the windows didn't create too much noise and the room cooled down a little although still remained very warm. When checking in we were asked if we wished to book breakfast (most St Malo Hotels don't include it in the rate) but we replied that we were going to have a wander the next morning in the city and find something. We were then told that nowhere would be open (on Sunday) for us to get breakfast in town (which we found odd as this has never been the case when we visited many times before). We decided to stick with our original plan and the next day we found there were plenty of options for breakfast on a Sunday in St Malo.
