The area was very central however hotel itself is overpriced. Dining area is small and stuffy and the breakfast is not good. Food has been standing out for quite some time. Disappointing overall wouldn’t stay there again.

We were able to easily visit many lovely places by public transport from this base. Very helpful staff. Comfortable & stylish room,tasty/varied breakfast. Soundproof windows were effective, as this is situated in a popular area,with many shops & cafés also street sweeper machines at work early mornings. None of this affected our good night's sleep! Very happy with our stay!

It was interesting to stay in the wall of the Fort. The parking was free overnight, which was a nice surprise. It is a convenient location, close to grocery store, easy to drive in and out of. Room was rather cramped but clean.

We had a very good experience at this three star hotel over the August Bank holiday. The room was light and airy and the staff very friendly. The only downside was the road sweeper which arrived about 6.45 am every morning to clean the square outside which woke us up. Wasn't a problem for us as we were able to go back to sleep but it's something to be aware of. Clearly the hotel can't do anything about this.

We stayed here for one night before catching the boat back to Portsmouth. The location is fantastic, right near the middle of the Intra-Muros area, and no more than 5 minutes walk from anywhere in the walls. The hotel is lovely, modern and well kept. The room was comfortable, and there wasn't any problem with street noise from the second floor.

The hotel was well located inside the walls of old St Malo. That is about all you can say about it. The rooms are beyond small compared to NA hotels and most of Eorope. The shower was a joke a 10 year old skinny kid might be able to turn around in it but I doubt it.

Very helpful staff, great location next to a plethora of shops and restaurants. The city was very quiet at this time of year which we liked. Didn't get to spend a great deal of time because we arrived late at night and left the next morning. Note since US credit and debit cards don't use the smart card system yet we had issues using cards at locations like the car park next to the water. Will definitely stay ther again !

A friend and I arrived in mid September after a week in Paris...it was pouring rain on arrival so it was great that from St Vincent gates where the bus dropped us off we were only a four minute walk away. central abnd surrounded by lovely shops and restaurants. You MUST try the Ker-Y -Pomme pastries...wow..amazing...also the Caramel Buerre Sale crepes!!! The caramel beurre sale is particular to the Britanny region..as are the Ker-Y -Pomme pastry. You have to try the oysters!!!! Anyway a great time there...plenty of things to eat and drink! ( try the Muscatel with seafood or the Britaany cider) Nice little hotel...quiet and comfortable...however the shower could have been cleaner. Friendly staff too!!

Hotel is in a good location, however you do have to listen to the noise from the surrounding streets during the night. The double is too small for two people and the continental breakfast was very much over priced for what was available. Otherwise the room was comfortable just wished that the bed was bigger and the breakfast should be cheaper as was not included in price

We had two rooms overlooking the street, the children in one, my wife and I in another, and worth thoroughly pleased. St. Malo Intramuros (inside the walls) is a beautiful town which we plan on going back to, and when we go with will stay in the Hotel Cartier.

I was a little bit unsure when I booked this hotel because there were not any other reviews for me to base my decision on. Having spent the night there I have no problem highly recommending this hotel to anyone! Talk about being inside a storybook with a modern theme. The location is spectacular (within the walled older part of the city)! You are a stone's throw from all of the beautiful sights that the city has to offer. The interior was immaculate; renovated and looking brand new, but the building still had it's old world charm. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance too. We did not have the breakfast at the hotel but we heard good things about it. All in all, I give this hotel an A+ and I hope to return there again one day.

Friendly and helpful staff and clean and smart rooms. The hotel is standard, new and ideal if you simply want to go out and explore the sights and eat out. There are no facilities beyond the bedroom and breakfast area.
