The room was bigger than I expected and felt very spacious, so there was plenty of room for one person and plenty if there were two people - for luggage and comfortable movement about the room. I was told I was upgraded, but for me I felt it was the room I booked on booking.com as I paid extra for a bigger room when booking. Good enough size bathroom with an external window, but not a huge bathroom. Shower only. Natural light. No problem with hot water. I found the room very clean and pleasant, with two big double windows onto the street. I enjoyed my elevated city view to the church and historic buildings across the street. The hotel is right in the heart of St. Malo old town. It was an easy walk from the main gates, and to walk the ramparts, to the beach or the harbour, explore the old town and also walk to the beach front outside the walls. Lots of restaurants/shopping/supermarket/cafes/bakeries. My room on the 3rd floor could be a little noisy if I had the windows open, as people talking/walking in the street below, but for sleeping with the windows closed this was not a problem - and not unpleasant as you are right in the heart of the town and there are many tourists all day, until late in the night. So if you want total quiet from the tourists, maybe consider this. There was a daily linen/room service which was very nice and I did not expect. I did not take breakfast (mostly as I am coeliac and often find hotel breakfasts not very good value and gluten free options underwhelming) - so I cannot comment on breakfasts at this hotel. The breakfast room itself did look very nicely laid out with a nice atmosphere - it was downstairs from the reception area, which also was very warm, interesting, and inviting on arrival at the hotel. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There is no view of the beach from this hotel, if this is something you are wanting. There was a kettle in my room with x1 Teabag - but more were provided on...

A very ascetic room. Very basic furniture. No closet. The bed isn't very comfortable. The bathroom is very basic and not new. The rooms are more reminiscent of a hostel and are not worth the money. There's nothing in the room except a bed, a table, and a coat rack.
