A little Gem

Fantastic location - so near to centre of town, restaurants, shops etc. Beautiful appointed room - very comfortable beds Clean and fresh. Liked how we could open the window, let the morning fresh air in and listen to church bells ring. Very nice helpful staff even we there was a lttle language barrier We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to St Malo, a truly amazing little place.

The safe was not secured to anything!! it was actually portable! As a result we could not use it

Wonderful stay, fantastic hotel with amazing staff.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, right in the heart of ST Malo. Room was spacious with great wet room. Had a few issues with the air con but the staff were amazing to get it fixed. Great pool that you can book for individual use. Evening meal in the restaurant was fab. Beach close by and loved swimming in the sea. Trip to Mt St Michel on kelois coaches which was an amazing day out. Lovely breakfasts available. Highly recommend.

Great location, great break!

Beautiful rooms. Really lovely decor. Great location within the walls and a lovely pasta restaurant. Staff were lovely.

No toilet door in the bedrooms. Can make for uncomfortable moments. The pool was not heated and felt incredible cold, which was such a shame as it is a beautiful room.

A lovely comfortable and stylish hotel in a central position in the old town.

An excellent hotel, the breakfast was good quality buffet style with plenty of choice. The room was quiet, effective sound proofing on the windows kept the sounds of noisy revelry in the street to a minimum.

Not much, except the switches controlling the lights in the bedroom were confusing. They were dark and and fitted the room decor but it made them difficult to see

Modernized hotel, friendly staff but Parking and room size are issues

The location is inside the wall so you are near everything you would to do and see. Staff was very friendly and the place is very clean and up to date.

There is NO parking inside the wall. I got the last parking spot in lot 7 ( outside the wall). Only lot 7 and 8 are reasonably close. There is no shuttle to get luggage to hotel so be prepared to hump bags a ways on cobblestone streets in the weather if you have a car. Also the room size is pretty small. There was really not enough room to open up and lay down the suitcases. Also the AC was not working so had to open windows to cool down the room.

Convenient for the ferry - comfortable and clean - very helpful staff!

I was really happy to find somewhere to stay near to the ferry terminal. The hotel was clean and comfortable and staff were very helpful. The hotel is located in the Intra Muros area of St Malo which is beautiful and bustling and full of lovely bars and restaurants.

The room was a bit hot as the window had been left closed - it's been very hot and dry so I don't know why the window was not left open. Also watch out for the step down to the bathroom if you get up in the middle of the night!

unfortunately they were short staffed so we had to wait a bit for check in and in the room there was no toilet paper so lucky we had some.

Location very good.

Room not cleaned one day, room key card at least twice ceased to work. Shower would not stay in place, had to shower with one hand holding it in place. No toilet paper. Mix up with bill.

Charged to store our bicycles! Made to pay for an "upgraded" room when we had to change dates due to Covid but the room was no better than previous rooms when we've stayed at this hotel before. Room not particularly clean - cup ring on bedside shelf and excess cleaning products on side of sink. Also we and other guests had to search to find clean cups at breakfast - many of the cups had residue from previous use in them.

Our stay was most enjoyable, and of course we have plans to return.

We feel we were very lucky to have had an upgrade to the Chateaubriand hotel, the décor around the hall, reception and dining room being most beautiful - a visual treat, as was our spacious room with such a marvelous view. We are indebted to one of the hotel reception team who kindly drove us to the ferry when no taxi arrived.

There was nothing we didn't like, and we were most satisfied.

We were comfortable and we very much liked the view. We should add as records show that we were transferred to Hotel de la Cité, and liked the location of this hotel in the heart of the old town, which we found very convenient for getting around.

Good location, but needs to be fixed up badly

The location of the hotel is perfect. It's in a area of Saint Malo that I like very much, close to restaurants, beaches, remparts. The staff are super nice ! The hotel was going to close 2 days before I was scheduled to leave ,due to no reservations for the following week. The staff booked me into another hotel which was very kind of them.

The hotel itself is in need of a re-do. The room was cold, the heating didn't work in my room, the staff brought me a space heater. It's an old hotel, in a great location, which needs a lot of re-doing.

Great location with few luxuries.

Room was convenient and a good size, nice and clean. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They immediately offered to help change our room when we reported that the first one smelled of cigarette smoke. That first room was on the 2nd level and there was no elevator, which was a bit of a problem for my husband who walks with a cane (plus the suitcase, even though it's small!); the second room was in the main building with a typically small French elevator. The breakfast spread was lovely.

Room was small and dated, and seemed to have distinct slope to the floor. There were minimal furnishings, and the bathroom was clean but felt a little unappealing just because everything was a bit dingy and old. Also the wifi was free but pretty slow.
