The location of the hotel was exceptional
It felt like the reception needs a coat of paint and a good tidy… and breakfast items should not run out they should be replenished when there are another 20 or so guests waiting for eggs/sausges/bacon etc

I've been to over a 100 hotels in 20 countries in my life and I have never experienced such an amazing shower! Place was very comfortable and relaxing after a long walking day in the city. The view from the windows is also very cute.
Nothing, the place is amazing. Too bad I only stayed there for one night.

The Hotel de la Cité has some really good points and some not so good. Staff were great - always helpful especially with regard to cancelling our reservation in the underground car park and explaining the intricacies of on street parking (this turned out to be cheaper). There was always someone on duty in reception. Although our room was on the 5th floor in the roof space it was actually quite spacious and relatively recently had had a makeover. The lift was always working so there was no problem with getting up there. The room was clean although the floor covering was a bit naff. The bathroom was nice and the bed was very comfortable. We were there at the end of September and had no problem with noise from nearby bars. On balance I'd say you get what you pay for.
It's location in terms of accessing the town is great, but in terms of driving in is a complete nightmare - you have to drive more or less around the whole of the town within the walls up and down one-way streets. Driving out turned out to be really easy. We hadn't really appreciated this when checking access arrangements. The hotel reception is a bit pokey and underwhelming, as are corridors and common areas. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant but most cafes seem to do breakfast.

Great location and even though I didn't realise you had to book parking, the hotel accommodated us brilliantly.
Staff were helpful and breakfast was lovely.
A little tired in places with some paintwork quite scuffed, mostly in the hallways, but it certainly didn't ruin our stay.

Great location
The shared spaces, landing hallways very dark and needed a clean

The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly
The bathroom could have been cleaner. The grout in the shower was not very clean.

We were able to walk round St Malo. Being in town was good
Getting to and from the hotel by car was a challenge, The satnav did not take you the right way, The hotel needs to send out instructions. Also the Booking.Com advert needs to tell you to book a car park place. Don't turn up with a car without booking.

The location, the proximity to the wall and the beach. Just down the street from stores and restaurants. Being able to park right next to the hotel. We liked the friendly and helpful staff as well as the delicious and plentiful breakfast buffet.
The lack of shower curtain and the fact that the shower head isn’t attached to the wall so you can take a shower standing up.

Stayed there for 2 days and liked it a lot.
Perfect location in the heart of the old town - dreamy and beautiful area.
The room was good, clean, everything in the right working order. Nothing to complain at all.
Nice friendly staff.
Nothing to complain.

very Good boutique hotel, conveniently located within the City walls, near to all the major bar, restaurant and shopping areas, with close access to the City walls.
15 minute walk from the Ferry port, ideal for a short city break
Lovely air conditioned room, with excellent shower & bathroom facilities
The room safe was not bolted to the wardrobe shelf and could have been easily removed - fortunately for a short trip we had few valuable except passports.

Location ideal since within the St. Malo walls.
Unfortunately the rooms at this time of year were extremely hot. Mixed responses from staff regarding AC which seemed to be installed in all rooms with control unit but either broken or not fully installed/completed. No clear answer from staff members but ultimately no AC so extremely uncomfortable to stay over in the heat. The issued seems to be around for some time with no clear date for resolution. There is a handful of fans given out to first come first served.

Fabulous location
Quiet area - except for the noise from a pub nearby but it didn’t stay open late
Great choice for breakfast - orange juice disappointing though!
Parking - despite 24 hours’ notice they didn’t have space
Plenty of others in walking distance but not cheap!
The communal carpet was pretty dirty looking
The room was very drably painted - shame as it could have been so much brighter!
Cheap shiny purple curtains!

The location is excellent, right in front of the most beautiful spot in Jarnac. Situated in the town centre, the street is quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of places nearby where you can park your car free of charge. The room is very comfortable and spacious. Highly recommended.
The temperature was 37 degrees, but the flat doesn’t have air conditioning, only a fan which doesn’t help much. Be careful with the lift – it seems safe, but it’s not entirely reliable.

Great location in the middle of the old city
Nothing you can do about this but pubs nearby can make nights a little noisy!

On a couple of days the cleaning was not as complete as it should have been. Common areas carpets very worn.

The location and staff were the highlight of the hotel. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed but was spoilt by the heavy decor
The hotel is in need of a refurbishment. The corridors need new carpet and repainting. My room was painted in dark green and black in the bathroom. The flooring also needs replacing.

Loved the location and ocean view from the room. Great to be able to open the windows and enjoy the weather and sunsets. Comfortable beds, and clean. Parking available upon request. Kamran on reception was very welcoming, efficient and helpful.

Central, good security for e-bikes in garage, 24/7 front desk service, lovely rooms and very clean, service with a smile from everyone even upon room move request. Incredibly soft towels and decent beds and pillows. A lift made life easier. Great bathrooms and water pressure. The staff clearly care about their guests which was so lovely and so appreciated.
A bit warm without fan. Suggest requesting a fan prior to checking in. A bit noisy from the cobbled road but can be managed with more cidre = deeper sleep!!!

Location ideally located close enough to the restaurants but far enough for there to be no noise.
We couldn't check in until 1500.

Booking was easy, location good, room had balcony and view over the coast and local area. Well equipped room and sufficient space to be comfortable.
I had agreed through the website with email confirmation that I would be able to keep my cycle in the bedroom with no charge as I was starting an international cycle race the next day leaving early and needed to ensure packing of bike etc was perfect. There was no record of this at reception and the request was refused initially. Only after a long difficult conversation was this agreed, and charged for. I was not bothered by the charge but there should have been knowledge of the agreement at arrival on the system.

i have been overcharged by €100 and no expanation. Part of the reason to use Booking.com is to prevent using bad hoteliers such as these, I am very unimpressed

The hotel is in a great location, situated inside the city walls. The staff were polite and friendly, letting me get access to my room four hours early, the rooms were well equipped, including a kettle and complimentary tea and coffee, everything worked in the room and the two shower heads arrangement one hand held and one ceiling mounted, was good. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the sights and numerous cafés, bars and bistros are nearby. I would stay here again if I visited St Malo again.
Nothing.
