Absolutely loved the location. So idyllic. We stayed in the studio in the Spycher which comes with a kitchenette and seating area. It also has a covered patio area with table and chairs, great for relaxing and watching the steam train go by even on a rainy day. Lovely continental breakfast included.
The studio is on the ground floor of the Spycher. If there is someone in the room upstairs, you can hear every word and footstep as there is absolutely no insulation in the floor/ceiling. When the people upstairs moved it felt as if they were in our room. I’m fully aware it’s an old building but the insulation should be upgraded as it’s not great being woken up at 6am on two out of the three nights we stayed there.
