Staff are helpful and nice. Clean and bright room.

The staff at the hotel couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, particularly Anka. I’d fallen and cracked my ribs and they immediately brought an ice pack and changed my room so I wouldn’t have as many stairs and did everything possible to help me. The hotel is charming with a beautiful garden and a nice restaurant.

We spent five excellent days in Winchester. The hotel could be described as boutique and has a beautiful cowherd we ate and had pre dinner drinks. It was very comfortable and close to the centre of the city but away from the tourist crowds

Great location for the town. Friendly reception. Lovely court yard for light lunch on arrival. Bar staff helpful. All very kind, well done & thank you.

No lift, but otherwise a good standard four star experience. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Excellent stay and service

Hotel itself is very nice and location great. Staff was helpful but failed to disclose there was a big, loud wedding outside our room that went from 2pm till 11pm which made the experience not the best.

The room was adequate but the noise from the street traffic was too much and constant even when we finally managed to get the secondary glazing to stay closed. New secondary glazing that is sound proof is required.

Lovely room and great food.

We’ve stayed a few times at this hotel, and actually had our wedding reception here back in 2020. It’s reliably a good place to stay, with an excellent central location. There is a reasonable amount of paid parking available at the back of the property. Rooms are clean and large, with nice bathrooms.

Brilliant as always!

Food was awful and over salty, we didn't have time to send it back so had to eat it as we were starving. Person at the reception to welcome us was very rude and tried to create a lots of problems with our restaurant booking. Room has the most horrible mattress I ever slept on. Not hot water in the sink when you run it in the tub! Cracks on the ceiling, moulds in the bathroom. Breakfast was dull and again over salty. Will never come back nor advise any one to stay especially for the ridiculous price they charge.

Great place to stay in Winchester. Well located and you can walk to most places of interest from the hotel. Nice patio for having drinks and food outside. Liked that it was dog friendly.

Lack of pillow choice

We were woken up at 7am by the chamber maids talking outside our door. The waitress walked by looking at me as I was pulling a hair from my mouth from the yogurt and my partner was gagging and she didn’t stop and say a word. Wouldn’t stay here again unless it was half price… I gave the hair back

Wonderful boutique hotel

Great stay, lovely room. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Easy parking. Would definitely stay again if visiting Winchester.

Don’t ask for anything out of the ordinary, you will be ignored. Having recently had cancer surgery I am unable to soak in a bath and limitations to my movement mean it is easier for me to use a walk-in shower at the moment. we requested four times for a room with a walk in shower and were ignored. They aren’t interested in your celebration. I told them it was my husbands birthday on our arrival day, he wasn’t even wished happy birthday - or smiled at!! Bearing in mind it was Jan 31st, the room was extremely hot. We tried to adjust the wall mounted air-conditioning control to no avail, so my husband went downstairs to ask to change rooms. He was told there was no air-conditioning in any of the rooms, the room could not be changed and that we should turn the radiator off (it was not switched on!) When he mentioned the control panel, he was told that had not been operational for “a long time,” and had just not been removed. We had to use a large fan to keep the room a reasonable temperature, because none of the windows could be opened! The room itself was rather tired, had a broken lamp, curtain pelmet hanging off, bathroom blind, chipped paintwork. Breakfast is ok, but don’t bother with the Bistro du Vin for dinner, although staff, aside from the belligerent receptionist are generally good. Bar staff excellent.

We had a very good stay. We had our rooms upgraded free, so we had very good,comfortable rooms. The only very minor observation would be that there are no comfy chairs or sitting area. The bar is good, but the seats are not designed to be comfortable,especially for older people. This is a very minor thing, We ate in the restaurant and it was very good. The staff were very kind to our 90 year old uncle too

Great service, beautiful room. There was a problem with our meal on the first night but the waitress, Olivia, did everything she could to make the issue not feel so bad, and then we were given a most generous reduction to the bill. These things happen, but it’s how they are dealt with makes up for it. Lovely, relaxing stay.

I've stayed at this hotel before and had a wonderful time. Things have certainly changed and I would not make any further visits to this hotel. Room service was not available due to technical difficulties in the kitchen, the bar was understocked and even after paying for additional sundries another charge was made to my credit card without any authorisation.
