I promised the host (who was super friendly!) that when I return to Salzburg in the summer I would stay at this guesthouse again simply for how lovely it was. The room I got had a balcony with a great view of the mountain. No breakfast as it was close to holiday and I stayed over the weekend, but there is a cafe about 10-15 minutes in the same street. Although the location is far from the main city the bus stop is only 5mins away and is quite reliable. They presented me a lovely letter as well as some guides for sightseeing spots and concerts which I appreciated. The wifi was reliable (was using it everyday for calls). Very quiet area, beds were comfortable and it was warm. If you'd like a retreat from the busy city life then I highly recommend this guest house.
Not a big issue but when returning to the area late at night bring a flashlight as the street to the property is not lit very well. Also advise to bring your own toiletries as the ones provided on property may not be enough for stays longer than a day.

Lovely place to stay - rustic property in a peaceful location with bus stop close by for easy access to the city (although recent changes mean you now have to buy tickets in advance via an app). Very friendly and welcoming hosts and an excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend as a comfortable and charming place to stay.

The place was great, it was like stepping into an Austrian fairytale! Is was decorated for Christmas and very lovely. Bus station is close to the gästehaus and it's a quick ride to the center. Lovely views from the balcony, renovated bathroom. Great!

Breakfast set up was lovely and tasty
Upon arriving the woman didn't speak English and felt we didn't get a clarity on needed info

We did not have breakfast at the property as it seemed a bit expensive. Our room was amazing with a big balcony overlooking their gardens and the mountain! Saw deer in the morning. Although we drove to the property, there was a bus stop very close that took you to the center of Salzburg in about 15 minutes.

Traditional home/guest house
A little bit too far from town than what I thought but there is a bus stop very close by and we had a car so worked out ok.
Had a misunderstanding about the local city tax charge, where they said I owed for a taxi fare. This was sorted out pretty easy and paid, however, after I sorted this with them I heard the lady running the place say something to her parents who stay there and then they laughed at me thinking they were charging for a taxi fare. Not overly happy they laughed about it considering they wrote me a message saying I owed a ‘taxi fare’ and not city tax. Language barrier was probably the issue but not nice to laugh at your guests mis-understanding what you are saying, especially when you’re loud enough for them to hear you.

Nice location outside of Salzburg with historic Austrian charm. Beautifully set in the mountains.
Although clean, the furnishings are slightly dated.

The room was large and in a beautiful setting. Great position to get the bus into town.
Very small towels and an extremely hard mattress for us. On the surface of it the room looks very clean but the headboard and side lights were extremely dusty, not good for my asthma.

The location is great as it is easy to reach the centre. It's nice and quiet and in a lovely area of Salzburg
The bathrooms are a bit old and could do with a refurbishment

Quiet location on the outskirts of town. Easily reached by public transport or (like in our case) by bike. Serene surroundings. Close to cable lift in Grodig (outstanding view on Salzburg) - make sure you get Salzburg Card from friendly staff.

Lovely people running the B&B. It is a family business. It was wonderfully traditional and a short bus ride into the city. We loved staying here.
There were a few cobwebs round the bed but other than that, it was lovely.

The location was lovely, The property was so serene and calm and breathtaking. Having said that this is not a location that is close to the city centre. So those using public transport may find it a tad inconvenient
That I had to lug my suitcase 3 flights of stairs!!

Beautifully decorated facility. Quiet upscale suburban neighborhood but close to public transportation.

5 miles from Salzburg with pretty mountain views in a Bavarian suburb
Hosts didn’t speak English except when daughter arrived in the mornings only. There was no information about the town and places to eat and shop for food. Also it is near the airport..with occasional jet noise.

Clean, and quiet property. It was a large room with a balcony and perfect for us!
Everything was good, but we really would have appreciated a hot water kettle for tea in the evening.

Cosy and beautiful Austrian country house with super friendly staff. Definately a place to visit.
A bit tricky location but definately worth of extra mile.

Quite place to stay in the "green"' Salzburg part, with convinient bus transport to the centre of Salzburg. The hostess Isabell and her mother were very polite and nice. The breakfast was very rich and varied.
The price was rather high, but hotels in Salzburg in August (Salzburger Festspiele time) are very expensive and despite this the Steinerhof is one of the cheapest.

The property is absolutely beautiful, it was a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable, and the wifi connection was very strong as well.
If you don’t have a car/bike available, this property might be a little far for you. It was an hour walk into town however there is a bus stop next to the property (we just prefer walking). There’s also no fridge or kettle in the rooms. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay!

Very nice property in typical austrian style, inside and outside, with a little lake and even some deers in the surroundings. Very much idillic.
We have already had a bad feeling about the staff, before departing. It seemed like, from the messages they'd sent us, that they wanted to "punish" us with a worse room because we didn't choose to have breakfast at the property. Maybe it was not like that, but it appeared so from the tone of the messages. In two days, we haven't seen anybody at the property to welcome us, which in this case was probably good. But on the other hand it created a big problem. On the last day, we left early. We thought, we had already paid in advance, as it is now usually the case with Booking.com. We immediately got a message from the property, that we left without paying, and if we didn't pay quickly, they would report us to the authorities. In the end, we managed with some difficulties to pay for the two nights, but the owners were really disrespectfull, as if we were thieves. Such disrispectfull behaviour for 200 Euros would never happen in Switzerland. It seemed like the owners would starve to death if we didn't pay them right away...They have a lot to learn if they want to continue this activity sustainably.

The house was lovely and our room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable.
Breakfast was only from 8 till 9am. Would have like if it was available till 10am. Otherwise the breakfast was fabulous. Delicious eggs.

Very pretty guesthouse on the outskirts of Salzburg but still very close. Very accommodating host. Wonderful breakfast!

The location is beautiful and the guest house is traditional. So fun/quaint/picturesque. Right next to bus stops.
It smelled strongly of cow poop all day, almost intolerably so. But that’s what you get in the countryside of Salzburg! Also, no gluten free options at breakfast and we didn’t see the host once during the stay.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was sweet and cute and we were given some Austrian chocolates. There are deer in the backyard!! It’s a beautiful little bed and breakfast on a lovely farm.
We had a little trouble finding it at first but only because we could not use GPS. Would not be a problem for most! We walked a lot this trip so the walk to the bus stop was no problem, but if you have trouble getting around that may be something to consider.

Excellent breakfast. Lovely Family and the daughter spoke good English. Bus stop for bus to Salzburg close by and very frequent, even late at night. Excellent restaurant close by (Reiterhof Moos) which was open on Sunday.
All good.

Quiet location near a bus stop for the city centre. Wonderful breakfast. Fridge in the room.
No fan available to help with warm nights. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No real welcome pack with information such as wifi password or local amenities.

We loved this house, it was traditionally Austrian, with a beautiful view of the mountains from our window. Very clean, the hosts were very friendly and the location was very good. Regular buses took us to the city centre and the bus stops were very close to the house. The breakfast was amazing, everything you could want for a continental breakfast and beautifully laid out for us. We loved this place and would definitely stay again.
Its been difficult to find something that we didn't like, we had a lovely stay.

The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making us feel right 'at home'. The breakfast was delicious and fresh, the breakfast room was very cozy. The location was great: it felt like being in the countryside, but it was only a 15 minute ride by bus (bus stop right near the hotel) to downtown Salzburg. Perfect!
Nothing to complain about.

Excellent, fresh breakfast; friendly, flexible staff; views from the balcony; simple check-in process; and good access to public transport.
Mattress could have been more comfortable; pillows were a bit too soft for our liking; and the road to the Gasthaus was not well lit and got a bit scary to walk through at nights.

The view from the room is amazing, the breakfast was really good and the bed was super comfy. Line 21 bus stop is really close to the guesthouse (2-minute walk) so one can easly get to the to city center with public transport. The host was really friendly, too.
There was no such thing.

Amazing view, friendly staff, big and cosy bedroom. Although a bit far from the city center, there is a bus that you can get to reach there close to the property.
Everything was great. It is more a suggestion: considering that it is far from supermarkets it would be good to offer water, bier, chocolate and this kind of stuff.
