It’s a bit of a ride to town, about 15 minutes by bus. But the bus stops right in front of the property and comes every 15 minutes during the week so it is not a big issue

The place was spotlessly clean, bueatifully decorated and full of character, nestled in-between amazing mountains, had a info pack showing all what was around and timetables to get into salzburg. Everything was so well thought out, parking was free :) wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Comfortable, relaxing, perfect! Fantastic hosts.

From the moment my wife and I arrived, Daniela & Simon were extremely helpful and made sure we were given all the information we needed to get around Salzburg and visit the sites we were interested in. Breakfast was outstanding - my fried eggs were cooked exactly the way I like them done!

Everything was perfect! The ONLY improvement would be having a Nespresso coffee machine in our room.

A Wonderful Place

My husband and I loved the area, the building, our suit, the cleanliness, the hospitality and the great breakfasts. We were also given free mass transportation tickets for the 5 days we stayed that was covered by the tourist tax the owners pay for their business.

Excellent place for staying outside of Salzburg

Excellent place to stay for a few nights around Salzburg. Located a little outside of the city (about a 20-minute drive), but there is a nearby bus station. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff is really nice and helpful. Breakfast is small but very diverse and of high quality. Suitable for those who plan to go for trips outside of Salzburg, and less for those who are more interested in the city.

It would have been nice to include in the price spa facilities (since there isn't anything else going on around there). A sauna is available for an additional €15 or so.

Wonderful experience

Great owners! Great breakfast! Comfortable room with nice touches everywhere. Not right in the city, but at a convenient bus stop with free bus pass. Good walking paths to the Festung from the back.

Restaurants in the area are mostly closed Mondays. With rain in the area, we couldn’t get into several restaurants in the city—everyone was inside eating, and we were told we could eat at 9pm. Bussed home and drove to a local pizzeria, not really reachable by those without a car. None of this is the fault of the owners, just cautionary for others.

Breakfast is a great Austrian buffet - would also highlight the hotel provides a free tourist pass which provides free bus travel from the bus stop outside of the hotel directly into Salzburg and no worries about parking - buses are a great way to get around and pop in and out of Salzburg

It is worst and horrible. The host is rude and bad person

Host was very rude , he refused to give us room even after getting full amount booking in advance. We requested him many time but he said I don’t care. We booked another hotel and paid again just because of him. He did not returned our money. Booking.com also neither refunded our money

I would recommend this accommodation for the travellers that want rest after day of sightseeing.

The Pension is located on the outskirts of Salzburg with the nice mountain view. We had very clean and spacious rooms with balconies. Convenient connection to the city centre by bus allowed us to leave the car at the Pension. Very good breakfast was served in the morning.

During my recent trip to the picturesque town of Salzburg, we had the pleasure of staying at the charming Pension Ballwein. From the moment we arrived, we was greeted with warmth and hospitality by Simon and Daniela, making us feel right at home. Simon and Daniela were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their attentive nature and willingness to assist with any inquiries or requests truly made a positive impact on our overall experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious and diverse breakfast provided each morning. Additionally, the cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable. Housekeeping services were carried out regularly, and I always returned to a well-maintained and tidy room after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. The location of Pension Ballwein was also ideal, offering easy access to nearby attractions and scenic spots. All in all, my stay at Pension Ballwein was a memorable one, largely thanks to the friendly and welcoming Simon and Daniela. I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely pension to anyone visiting Salzburg, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We loved everything in this property! Thankful to Daniela and Simon for the amazing hospitality. One of the best memories during our stay was when Daniela gave my wife her birthday cake - that was very thoughtful! Location is perfect - bus stop is right outside the property. View from the balcony is amazing. We'll definitely stay here again when we come back to Salzburg!

This was my fourth stay with Simon and Daniela at Pension Ballwein and it was just as wonderful as always. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is delicious and the location couldn't be better. But what really makes it such a beautiful place to stay is the kind and friendly dedication of it's owners. They were so accommodating to our every need and we really felt cared for during our time with them. For anybody visiting the beautiful city of Salzburg, make your trip the best it can be and stay with Simon and Daniela. We cannot thank them enough for all they did to make our holiday absolutely perfect and we look forward to returning to stay with them again very soon.

Wonderful oasis in Salzburg

Being just out of the city- right on bus line...quick ride into town and attractions.. Quiet Balcony to relax on.....mountain view...walk to fine restaurant on lake. Hosts Daniela and Simon wonderful and helpful...as well as their adorable "helpers".( daughters). Would definitely stay here again if lucky enough to return to Salzburg! Oh..and the breakfast was wonderful...lots of delicious choices...

Superb

Really charming location at the outskirt of the city but still close enough to either go by foot or by bus. The bus stop is literally in front of the pension!! We really loved the quietness of the place in the night with sound of the bells in the morning. Perfect balance between proximity to the city and to the nature! Breakfast is really nice and it is really appreciated how accommodating they were when my partner asked for lactose free milk. Whilst we did not tell them in advance they sorted it out!! Many thanks!!

This place is amazing! Big and comfortable room, eggs made to order plus a buffet for breakfast every morning. Simon and Daniela were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations when we arrived. It's super easy to get into downtown Salzburg from the hotel, the bus stop is right outside. Will be recommending this place to anyone who tells me they're going to Salzburg!
